Unacceptable handling of defective Open Box item and repeated courier failures

I purchased an Open Box item from Amazon.es for €338.26 (Order #406-4161956-6407555) that arrived defective due to a complete lack of quality control prior to dispatch.
While I requested a return immediately, Amazon’s handling of the logistics has been a total nightmare. They scheduled a return pickup with Seur, but no driver ever showed up or contacted me. When I reached out to customer service, they simply rescheduled another pickup with Seur—which also failed completely for the second time.
Upon contacting support again, their only response was to book a THIRD pickup with the exact same logistics provider that has repeatedly failed. Holding over €338 of customer funds while expecting me to stay home indefinitely for failed courier collections is unacceptable.
Amazon refuses to offer alternative solutions, such as providing a printable drop-off label for CTT/local collection points or issuing a refund while they sort out their logistics internally.

I had to give back an item that was…

I had to give back an item that was damaged, the process states the seller should provide me a company to ship it back or I select one of my choice. I tried both. I contacted the seller, no answer. I tried a company of my choice they didn't accept to send it back. I asked support to Amazon who said if the seller doesn't send a new return label within 48h they would refund me. 48hs after I contact Amazon and they said I need to ship it. But how? Keep my money, which was a lot, but never again I'm using this company.

I can’t say a single bad word about…

I can’t say a single bad word about Amazon’s customer service when it comes to resolving problems. Everything has always been handled very quickly and professionally.

However, Amazon as a whole has become significantly worse. A very large proportion of the products are extremely low-quality goods from China, and the way payments are charged to the card and deliveries are handled used to be much, much more convenient for the customer.

How to deal with Amazon in California Small Claims

Amazon found a way to comit credit card fraud in a way that got around my safety system, which was to add credit cards, some not even mine, from one time sales back into their system for repeated use. This is a felony, using a person's credit card not on file to charge anything without the owners approval.
This was overlooked because when they showed up on accounts I did have access to, they showed as credits. Then weeks after updated to debits which should not be possible but found out its been happening for years and due to statute of limitations can only go as far back as 35 months, slightly under the 3 year mark for California. Total so far is over $3600+. A lot of smalls do add up.
Banks only go back 60 days so since this is under 10k, small claims is the best option. In California the cost to file is $30+, depending on how much your suing for. If you dont want to spend $150+ for a process server, the clerk can serve the papers return reciept. Im dealing with stage 4 cancer so using a do process server. Small claims is easy. I have both in writing Amazons apology and false refunds they never gave and small claims doesnt allow attorneys. This means no legal researching needed, just the evidence. It brings those corrupt companies down a LOT of pegs, and believe me, most Judges have had bad dealings with them as well so Amazon will not get away with it and Ill post the final outcome after the case so others can do the same.

Very upset third rime I have ordered…

Very upset third rime I have ordered cartons from rhe customer returns, over 3 years. Don’t bother it’s a total SCAM. Each time I order 2 large cartons. Every time costing in excess of $200.00 AUD. And every time I received 2 small item in an envelope worth at most $5.00 from the two dollar shop. Don’t order from them it is very clearly stealing.

Six months ago I tried to buy an iPad…

Six months ago I tried to buy an iPad on Amazon.es but they refused payment so I bought it at El Corte Inglés. Amazon then told me my account was frozen and I should upload documents. I did that then nothing happened. I began to send emails but never a response until after five months I said please delete my account as I am uncomfortable with the data you hold when I can’t shop on Amazon. They responded with a link which sent me to the login which told me I was blocked. So… I can’t close the account and they haven’t responded again. How long does it take to review two documents? They have lost business for six months. Crazy and infuriating. They don’t answer me or help me.

Items never arrive when they should if they arrive at all .
I constantly get the message from Ctt to say they could not deliver because I was not home.it’s infuriating because I am home & I have CCTV they just don’t bother to come ,so you have to go to the post office to collect it & there is always a long queue. When you go back to Amazon to say your delivery has not arrived all they do is refund you they never try to find it .I now will only buy from Amazon es if I can not find what I want anywhere else.Amazon UK is fabulous Amazon es. Is rubbish. Ctt is the worse delivery service I have ever experienced.

Nearly two months of astonishingly incompetent customer service

After nearly two months of dealing with Amazon.es customer service, I am genuinely astonished by how difficult they can make the resolution of straightforward consumer problems.

I have had three separate unresolved cases requiring repeated emails, chats, escalation and formal complaints. In one case, a defective €82.15 product was returned by DHL and the seller confirmed in writing that it had been collected for refund. The refund never arrived.

Instead of resolving it, Amazon's A-to-Z process ultimately failed and an Amazon supervisor actually instructed me in writing to dispute the charge with my bank. I have now had to file a chargeback to recover money for a defective product that I returned weeks ago.

The amount of professional time I have wasted documenting, explaining, chasing and escalating these cases is absurd. If I invoiced Amazon for those hours, the bill would substantially exceed the value of the purchases involved.

What I find most unacceptable is the endless cycle of generic responses, contradictory information, procedural obstacles and apparent inability to take ownership of a problem and actually resolve it.

Amazon is excellent when everything works. The real test of a company is what happens when something goes wrong. Based on my experience over the last two months, their customer service has failed that test spectacularly.

And two of my three cases are STILL unresolved.

One star, because zero is not an option.

best online store

I am not sure why all the negative ratings. Yes, local delivery companies sometimes mess up. But not with Amazon in my experience. I've been shopping at Amazon Spain for years spending thousands and thousands of euros. Quick support, friendly policies, free deliveries for very reasonable 5 euro a month, easy returns, and much more.

Logistics to Portugal are a nightmare…

Logistics to Portugal are a nightmare (pesadelo). Several times I have gotten messages "arriving tomorrow." Then when the day arrives, suddenly the delivery date is changed to some date, often days or weeks in the future. The estimated delivery time when ordering is very inaccurate. Once the order is placed, you have little option, but to WAIT. I would NOT order anything expecting it to arrive at any particular definite time. Then there is the problem of the poor treatment of their employees and despicable corporate culture.

Why 1 star reviews, this is Trustpilot not Google

I sincerely don't understand why everyone is giving such bad reviews. I mean, of course, they almost always deliver late, but at least, they notify you. And of course it's a bit expensive, since the products are not from Temu or AliExpress (they're original). But they always deliver the things that users order, and the products are flawless. If someone can think of a better online shop where you can find absolutely everything, then use that one, but don't give one-star reviews for Amazon on Trustpilot, because this is not a Google Review, people come here to see if they can trust webs, not to see if they're good or not.

Amazon.es A-to-Z process is not fit for…

Amazon.es A-to-Z process is not fit for purpose

Bought a defective item from a third-party seller. The seller refused a refund. Simple enough — that is what the A-to-Z Guarantee is supposed to be for. What followed has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

The A-to-Z claim system is a mess. Duplicate claims running on the same order, identity verification links that do not work, and claims closed despite submitting the required information. No one at Amazon can explain what happened or fix it.

I have had to pay €80.92 out of my own pocket to return a defective product because Amazon offers no support with return postage for third-party seller items. The item has been delivered back to the seller and I am still waiting for my refund with absolutely no timeline given.

Customer service is non-existent. I have used online chat multiple times and had seven agents simply leave the chat without resolving anything. They cannot deal with even the most basic issues. When I ask for a timeline on my refund, nobody can give me one.

The whole process is designed to exhaust you into giving up. Unacceptable.

Do not buy from.Amazon.es - service is terrible

I have been a happy Amazon customer for over 15 years (Germany, US, Belgium, France...). While in my vacation home in Portugal I bought an electric hob from Amazon.es. Description on the website was wrong and so I had to return it. I want to return it to a pickup point, but that is not possible and I have to wait for SEUR/DPD to collect the package at home. But they never show up (3 'attempts' already... I am literally sitting at my foor with the package for almost a week and no-one shows up). Contacted Amazon.es 3 times and every time they tell me that they cannot do anything - impossible to reimburse me if they do not receive the package, which they won't pick up. NEVER buy anything from Amazon.es! What a terrible customer experience.
