Straightforward and fair price
Bought online via MSE site for one car with a good price compared to last years renewal with previous insurer. I also renewed for our second car already with Aviva. Website easy to use. I always look for an 5* insurer so don’t necessarily go for the cheapest quote. I decided to stay and renew due to a positive experience when regrettably needing to make a claim last year.

Been with Aviva for 19 years
Been with Aviva for 19 years! Never had any accidents so just paid premiums to have car insurance. First accident, not our fault, other driver went into us from the back. Aviva were horrendous and unhelpful. They said they could not sort out anything for us on Saturday and we had to speak to the day team from 9am on Monday. I said I was in hospital Friday but they have zero sympathy. I wanted to complain and they said sure, at 9am on Monday to the day team! What kind of service is that! Apparently because my oh had reported the accident they now could not do anything. However if he did not report it then we could have got something sorted that weekend. But they had closed the claim! In the end I got fed up of people telling me because of a technicality they were going to refuse to help. Went with a 3rd party to recover costs. Got a courtisy car within 24 hours. Going to get the baby seats covered too. I would never go with Aviva again out of principle. They are a big company now and do not care about customers. It was ok for almost 20 years when they took the money though.

During my income protection claim
During my income protection claim. I have come find that their "case managers" operate on lies and deception to try close claims and force premature closure. Make sure you record all conversations, submit SARs to them. And don't be afraid to lodge a complaint if you feel you have been treated in bad faith. I know it can be hard of your disabled, and they vouch on that. They like to exploit the weak and disabled.
