Terrible lazy reviewers that reject footage without looking at it...
I submitted a demo reel which was accepted, but after that 50-70% of my clips were rejected. I uploaded some fox clips, of which many were rejected for being 'similar to my other clips' ...ok, fair enough. I then upload a drone video of a windmill in the snow and it gets rejected for being 'too similar to my other clips' (what, of foxes?!). I resubmitted the windmill clip with no amendments and it got accepted next time. Why? (probably because it actually got looked at this time as it was on its own). I found that if I uploaded 10-12 clips, always 50-70% would be rejected for either being 'too similar' or for being 'distorted' despite other clips from the same export being accepted. None of it made sense. In the end I uploaded the rejected clips to Shutterstock and Pond5 (who Blackbox upload to) and they all got accepted. So far over 300 clips on Pond5 and no rejections and 90 clips on Shutterstock with no rejections. So I contacted Blackbox asking for my account to be closed and my footage removed so I could upload it directly myself, but it has to stay on their site for 3 years. So total waste of time. Just upload it directly yourself is my advice.
