I had a very positive experience with Blue Car Rental in Iceland. The whole process was smooth and straightforward from the beginning.

I rented a Kia Sportage, which was in perfect condition and proved to be a great car for travelling around Iceland. Picking up the keys was extremely simple and efficient, which made starting the trip completely hassle-free.

The service throughout was very good, professional and well organized. Everything worked exactly as expected, and I had no issues with the car during the entire rental period.

I would definitely recommend Blue Car Rental to anyone planning a road trip around Iceland and would happily rent from them again.

A few months before our trip, I compared a few car hire companies, and Blue Car came out on top. The booking process is simple and straightforward. We opted for the comprehensive insurance policy. On arrival, the car was waiting for us in the car park, ready to go. We found the key in the locker without any trouble. The car was exactly what we’d expected. Attached to the key was a key ring that entitled us to a small discount at Olis/OB. After our fantastic trip, we drove the car into the drop-off area, where a friendly lady carried out a quick check and sent us on our way with a big ‘thumbs up’.

Check-in and check-out of the car was flawless. We rented a white Toyota Yaris hybrid. The car was clean, fast, great on MPG and worked perfectly. It also fit 2 carry-ons and 2 medium sized luggages for 2 people, which was surprising for such a small car. No issues going around the ring road either. We documented all dents and scratches and had no issues with the company. Would recommend.

We received a Land Rover Defender as an upgrade instead of the Toyota Land Cruiser, and it turned out to be an outstanding experience. From the very first drive, it was clear that the Defender offers an exceptional combination of comfort, refinement, and capability.

On the road, the vehicle was incredibly smooth, quiet, and comfortable. Whether driving on highways or winding roads, it provided a premium driving experience with excellent ride quality and a luxurious feel. The cabin was spacious, well-equipped, and designed to keep both the driver and passengers relaxed, even on long journeys.

Off-road, the Defender truly impressed us. It handled rough terrain with ease, tackling rocky tracks, steep inclines, and challenging trails while maintaining remarkable stability and confidence. Its advanced four-wheel-drive system and terrain management technology made even difficult obstacles feel effortless.

One of the most impressive features was its ability to cross rivers and water obstacles. The Defender demonstrated outstanding wading capabilities, giving us confidence when driving through deep water crossings that would challenge many other vehicles. Combined with its high ground clearance and advanced off-road systems, it proved to be an exceptionally capable adventure vehicle.

Overall, the Defender felt like a genuine upgrade. It perfectly combines luxury and comfort on the road with world-class off-road performance, making it a vehicle that exceeded our expectations in every way. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a premium SUV that is equally at home on highways, mountain trails, and river crossings.

Located just a short walk across the airport parking lot, very easy to get to, and nice to get out of the congestion of the airport. Very smooth check in process, thoroughly answered questions and got a free upgrade. Portable wifi was an absolute lifesaver, and was easy to use. Drop off was equally smooth. Will definitely use them again on the next visit.

It was a great rental experience, no worries, no problems. Had all the liabilities and insurances which I think is a must, I didn't have to worry about any inspections or cleanings. Just dropped off with no dramas. Highly recommend.

Easy an quick pick up - key-box. The car was clean, the tank full and easy to drive. We chose a 4*4 Use Dacia and it was perfect for our family of three. Enough space for our luggages and comfortable ! Quick drop off even if it was peak time at 6 am. The car was great on the road to Landmannalauger ( no crossing rivers )but we had to drive at a very slow speed as the road is awful "very bumpy" at least during 30 minutes. We left the car at the parking lot before our hike - it was the most enchanting moments of our stay as the landscape is breathtaking at the top of Bláhnúkur ! Blue car Rental gave us all the informations needed before our trip and I highly recommend it - with full insurance option !

Our experience with Blue Car Rental at Keflavík International Airport (KEF) was seamless, fast, and completely stress-free from start to finish. We used their online check-in and keybox pickup, which allowed us to bypass the counter completely, grab our keys, and get on the road in minutes. The Kia Sportage we ordered was exactly what we requested, featuring very low mileage, a spotless interior and exterior, a full tank of gas, and a working built-in GPS. The booster seat we added to our order was also waiting for us right inside the car. Opting for a 4x4 was absolutely the right call for driving the Ring Road, and the vehicle performed flawlessly over the 2,000+ kilometers of our trip without a single issue. Drop-off near the airport terminal before our flight was incredibly quick and hassle-free. We highly recommend Blue Car Rental for anyone visiting Iceland and would gladly rent from them again!

I love the “touchless” check-in. Fill out information in advance and you can pick up your car in a jiffy without waiting in line. We’ve rented with Blue Car three times now, and the car has always been trustworthy and our experience with customer service has been smooth when we’ve inquired about extending the rental so we could stay longer (I’m never ready to leave Iceland).

Picking up the car was very quick, even though we hadn’t opted for early check-in. The car we collected was an older model Dacia Duster, and even before we took it, we were told that it already had several scratches, but not to worry as we’d taken out comprehensive insurance. The car did indeed have several scratches, a dent in the rear bumper and was making a whistling noise, but despite this and nearly 200,000 kilometres on the clock, it performed very well on both normal and f-roads. The tyres were probably the best part of the car, making it safe to drive. The staff were very helpful in answering all of our questions.
Returning the car was also very quick, with no particular checks carried out on the vehicle and the only request being that we top up the fuel tank.

My wife and I arrived in Iceland on August 4th and went to Blue Car Rental and picked up our car. We got to our hotel and checked out the street parking which was very easy.The next day we did and adventure to the Golden Circle while on our day of exploration I noticed the car pulled to the right so I took a look and found the front tires were bald ! No tread at all. The next day(Thursday) we had the Blue Lagoon at 8 pm so we left the hotel for the Grindivick and the attractions in that area. My wife suggested going to the airport and tell Blue about the tires and uneven ride as the airport was not out of our way. We went in told the counter worker about the tires and the pulling while turning. He inspected the car spoke to the manager and 10 minutes later we left with a huge upgrade to a MG Z2 hypred and a huge apology for our inconvenience. No questions asked No Problem. This made the rest of our trip worry free and amazing. There would be no other reason to use any other car rental company tham Blue for your trip to Iceland.
