Poor service

Left one book as pending for weeks. I eventually gave up and hit cancel that item so the others would process so I could get at least something for the 4 books I sent in. Feel extremely ripped off on all books and will not sell back to this company ever again.

Would use again

Easy to use, easy to get your money. My books were in very good condition with no writing in them. I shipped them and within 2 weeks I had my check. Absolutely no issues what so ever.

Never Received Payment

I sold a textbook back to Bookbyte last year and never received payment. I emailed, but they said they hadn't received the book. I used their shipping and printed the shipping label right from their site. I have emailed customer service a couple of times, but as of today haven't received any payment. I would not use their site again.

Scam artist

They said my book was damaged it had a very small rip on the cover. so they said they destroyed it . They actually keep your books dont pay you and sell your damaged books cheap. Do not use this company..Please be warned.My order number was # 7713174. Once again my book had a small rip on the front cover I purchased it from my school bookstore. Please check order number before responding

I gotten my book quicker than i…

I gotten my book quicker than i expected. it has everything i need for my courses. even for a used book. it was worth it. thank you soo much. you saved me from failing my course. i wish i could have ordered it sooner.

I ordered a used book

I ordered a used book, cost over$100.00. When I received the book I was very disappointed. In all my years of ordering used textbooks, I have never received anything this bad. The pages had been taped into the spine and when you turned the pages they would fall out. I immediately contacted them to return the book and they sent me a shipping label. It took almost 4 weeks for them to get the book back and refund my money. I will never order from this company again.

We have received your "Charge Back-Dispute" from you and your bank will reverse the original transaction and issue the refund to you. This however will be done directly through PayPal so you will want to contact them regarding the "Charge Back-Dispute" in order to get your refund. Unfortunately Bookbyte cannot issue any refunds with an open "Charge Back-Dispute".

-Log in to your account
-Click Return This Item next to the book/order you wish to return
-Choose your return reason on the return pop up window
-Click Print Shipping Label to download your prepaid return label

We will issue a refund (minus any applicable shipping fees) back to your original payment method as soon as possible after the return is received and inspected. Please be sure to use the prepaid label provided in your account to ship the return from any FedEx office or post office. If our label is not used, this may delay processing for 6 weeks or more.

Total scam

Sold Bookbyte a very expensive textbook and they refused to give me my money. This company basically has the right to declare any book they wish as "unauthenticated" and deny payment. Do not sell your textbook to them because they will find any excuse to not pay you.

Upon receiving books, our Buyback team first checks the ISBN on the book to ensure that it's the same as the ISBN on the order. Then they check the condition of the book. When checking the condition of the book, they also check for book authenticity. Because of the rising costs of textbooks, there are currently many scams/companies that print and sell illegal copies of textbooks.

We look for several factors when determining if a book is authentic or inauthentic. If a book meets the criteria for being an inauthentic book, it is marked inauthentic and then sent to a second quality check to ensure that it is in fact not an authentic book. A supervisor has reviewed the item received from you, Biology, by Campbell, 10th Edition and found the following indicators:
-Binding glue is of poor quality
-Inferior page quality
-Printing quality
-Jagged cuts along text-block

Per our buyback policy, upon receipt of a shipped package into our warehouse, ownership of the contents of the shipment transfer completely and wholly to Bookbyte. Bookbyte reserves the sole right to determine the value and condition of any included items according to its own standards and policies. Sold them a book

Sold them a book. It was in perfect condition. Then they claimed that the binding was bad so they refused to send me the money. So I demanded that they at least return the book and they are not doing that. They are a complete scam. They are taking advantage of poor college students for their own selfish gain.

Our records show your wife's order #7706362 was placed on 12/30/2017. USPS tracking records confirm the package was shipped on January 2, 2018. Our records show your Bookbyte account was updated on 1/22/2018 to show the item was "rejected." Regardless of whether the textbook you are selling is in new or used condition, we offer the same quote. We do encourage customers to take the proper precautions with their shipping company and to purchase optional insurance through USPS, as we cannot pay for books that are lost or damaged before they reach us.

When orders arrive to our warehouse, the order ID and number of books enclosed is documented. If a box is damaged upon its arrival, photos are taken to document this as well. There are no photos of your order which means the shipment was intact upon arrival. As stated in our policy, Bookbyte is not responsible for any damages that may have occurred while your shipment was in transit.

Our returns team takes great care in processing each shipment received. Upon inspecting your shipment, they found the binding was damaged, preventing normal use of the book. Since we are unable to resell books that can not be used, we unfortunately cannot purchase them. Unfortunately, per our Buyback policy, we are unable to send books back. Books that are rejected are either donated or recycled. Our Buyback policy specifically states: "Books with no resale value will be recycled or donated to charity."

If you are ordering a new textbook, you can find out exactly what you’re getting by looking at the ISBN (International Standard Book Number). ISBNs identify not just unique books, but unique complete packages. In other words, the ISBN for a textbook by itself is not the same as the ISBN for a textbook that comes with an access code, workbook, or other supplement.

If the listing page you are on indicates that the book is a textbook plus supplement edition then it will come with that supplement as long as it is purchased in New condition. If you are ordering a Used textbook, we unfortunately are unable to guarantee that the book will include any supplements. Bookbyte's "partners" are falling down - terribly!

Bookbyte's "partners" are falling down terribly. I have ordered dozens of book over the years, but my last two orders were both a mess. Missing books that were on the packing order, books that were in terrible shape when I paid for like-new . . . VERY disappointing.

Bookbyte rejected a DSM-V copy in very good condition without any explanation. I did not receive any $ and they did not return it. The ease of shipping raised it to 2-star. Prior to outsourcing to Amazon, this was a good company to do business with.

Per our Buyback policy, "Bookbyte reserves the right to inquire how items were originally acquired and request proof of ownership. While under investigation, payment may be delayed or withheld. Any items submitted to Bookbyte that are determined to be illegally obtained or printed will be surrendered to the proper authorities (i.e., law enforcement, publishers, or retailers)."

The item you wanted was no longer available at the time of your order. We didn’t have a substitution to send you, so the order was cancelled and refunded. Please allow 3-5 business days for your financial institution to post the credit to your account.

When an order is cancelled, there is a system automated email that gets sent out to the email address on file. Some internet service providers view flag our emails as SPAM or junk mail and they block it. This is maybe why you did not get the notification. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.
