dont bother with bt they are rubbish

dont bother with bt they are rubbish, i pay for maximum speeds and have extra router in bedroom yet have to wait at times for connection,the prices keep going up and up, i just asked how much to leave as SKY will give me same thing i got for less than half but to get out of contract i have been quoted £800, £574, or £562 you can choose. because of these prices i cannot afford to leave but cannot afford to stay with B.T. but have no option i was a sky customer before and i wish i never left. SO BEWARE YOU WHO WANT TO JOIN.
i do not recommend this company at all and would never rejoin if i leave.

On starting the process of leaving BT

On starting the process of leaving BT, I got a letter saying I would not be refunded well over £200 that had been charged to my account 2 days before. I found this incredibly upsetting and worrying. After my complaining, I was told it would be refunded after all, but really this should not have happened, and being told it was a mistake did not lessen the anguish.

Don't even know where to start. Misleading, not respecting contractual terms, CUSTOMER NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE COMPLAINTS. I cannot believe they are still standing in 21st century. Shame on you BT

I really don`t know where to start

I really don`t know where to start - BT cut my fathers landline broadband and subsequent tv off for no apparent reason - no letter no call or warning - my father is a long term customer who is 85 and has a health condition he was at the time paying 90 pounds a month.
Weeks on he still has not had his phone at the least reconnected - I have spent hours on the phone being passed around connections/faults/ sales etc - This seems to do no good whatsoever a few times my call arrived in the Indian call centre i assume - don`t bother they are completely out of touch.
The complaint has been in action for 2.5 weeks now and BT seem inept at reconnecting my father - asking for a manager is virtually impossible - I was given one name and was told he would ring back - it didn't happen.
I`m really angry - I wouldn't recommend them at all after this experience - BT isn't what it was.

Job reference LS9MGJ92. I had to call BT this morning regarding what I thought was the large exchange boxes that had been vandalised. They were absolutely fantastic. The engineer was really efficient and the customer service worker was great.

It turned out it belonged to Virgin Media who I am a customer with I have just left a review for them with 1 star absolutely appaling service but from my experience of BT I would seriously consider switching. The call centre for virgin is in India and major communication issues and also they are pretty useless. BT sent out an engineer within 1 hr Virgin 24hrs with a major risk as massive box blocking half the pavement. People with pushchairs and people with disabilities will be affected by this.

AVOID. They think as they are BT the customers are there for BT's benefit.
passed all over the place with a problem and just like to blame me for the terrible quality on net connections.
Going to Virgin. Have been with them before and always helpful and not many problems.

I don’t often leave reviews but....Worst company we’ve ever dealt with.

Admitted themselves “misleading”, charge unethical hidden fees, ask to make a complaint about the issue and refuse you to do so. Not given a governing body either. Absolutely terrible. For the record, it’s not sustainable ripping people off.

Read the small print - can't be trusted!

If anyone is thinking of going into a contract with this company, think carefully. They put different term lengths on each service you have and then send out info asking you to renew when one service ends, failing to tell you that you're actually still in contract for others. They then provide more expensive contracts than other companies over the phone, whilst failing to advise again that some of your services are still in contract when it's made clear to them that you intend to shop around. You inevitably find a better deal and they then charge you a whopping £318 to leave them! Worth every penny to be honest but still, not wanting others to fall into the same trap that I have.

Awful company,after we had to cancel the contract with them because our neighbours were not agree to cut their trees so the engineer could connect our new house to the internet ,they charged us over £200. Rubbish !!!!

Worst Company In The World!

Awful service! ...I have been a customer of This company for years without a problem!
August I received a marketing call from this company in which I was persuaded to upgrade my broadband without affecting my existing offer for just extra £5 a month since then the price has for higher and higher!
I logged complaint Monday morning to be told I would be called back within 48 hours when they have listened to the call...48 hours later no call so I call them to be told yet again we will call you back within 48 hours and yet again no call! Call them back today for the third time to be told the manager will personally look into this for me and call me back by end of day .. surprise surprise no call! The customer service is simply non-existent and no matter what they offer you I would avoid this horrendous company at all costs!

I have developed a deep hatred of BT

I have developed a deep hatred of BT. The total lack of interest in solving my problems, always problems created by BT themselves. Where to begin? I work from home in tech. Every home move has been a disaster with BT screwing up both delivery and connection. I then get supposedly helpful BT people dealing with the problem but failing to do so despite assurances. Most recently BT decided to close my account down when a neighbour moved. That cost 8 weeks of complaints, problem solving and fake help that never came true. Thankfully I am getting fibre-optic to my door and so will never have to deal with BT again, counting down the days! Also delightfully in my professional life I will soon be in a position to influence a major BT contract in .........well that would be telling. They wont be winning it. That makes me very happy.

How do you leave a zero star review

How do you leave a zero star review? Ok, so I called and cancelled BT sport in June. It stopped working a week earlier than expected, but I thought that was my error and left it. Now we had a large bill, so didn't realize until we reviewed our finances in January. Plus the year had been filled with other things like losing a baby and my wife spending a considerable amount of time in hospital. My wife called to cancel it in November, but after 25 minutes of badgering to remain a paid service member the agent put her on hold and the line went dead. So when I contacted them in January, they agreed to refund three months, as that's the max they could do. They have no record of my call about cancelling BT Sport, only my series of calls about the shocking broadband I was receiving at the time and the complaint that was made then, which wasn't answered. They have no record of when BT sport is available or not, so can help me no further. Their record keeping is poor, their ownership and accountability is non existent and their systems must be poor as noone can give a quick answer. All this tied in with the sales culture make this such a poor company to deal with

Terrible service!!!

Terrible service!!!! Disgusting hidden charges. After a year and a half of paying £85 just for broadband and a phone line that is never used I decided to switch to xln, excellent service and less than half the price. I was charged an early cancellation fee which xln covered. Fast forward a month after the switch i get another charge through the post for £280!!! This was the discount i received on my contract that I had to pay back although I asked already if that was all i owed during the switch??? Terrible service

Where are the engineers?

Well, 5 calls in and going from 20th October to 28th December so far for a repair.
All I want is someone to climb a pole and fix a cable, then reset the broadband. You're quite happy to bill me and send me an offer for fibre through the copper cable no one will fix though. Complaint form requires a 2nd landline contact. What a joke....

Dreadful

Dreadful, perfectly helpful when selling services, keep billing us incorrectly after 4 years. First 2 years owed us 100s. Constantly billing us for engineers when we pay for a contract. Awful, tied into a contract. Will never go with them again
