strong dent on the door for brand-new item and their poor cs
I had a very disappointing experience with Canadian Appliance Source.
After receiving my brand-new refrigerator, I discovered a large dent on the front door. I contacted Customer Service expecting assistance, but instead the representative became argumentative and even asked if I "didn't understand what they were saying."
I was told my only options were a 10% discount or waiting approximately two days for a return or exchange. When I explained that this was my only refrigerator and asked what I was supposed to do with all of my food during that time, I was simply told, "I don't know."
I then requested to speak with a supervisor. The representative claimed they were the manager and that there was nobody above them I could speak to. The salesperson who sold me the refrigerator also refused to help and told me to deal only with Customer Service.
Although the company has since arranged for LG to replace the damaged door, I find it extremely disappointing that a brand-new appliance requires a major exterior component to be replaced immediately after delivery. I purchased a brand-new refrigerator, not one that needed a service appointment and repairs on day one.
Mistakes can happen, and damaged products are understandable. What is not acceptable is dismissive, unprofessional customer service, refusing to escalate a customer's concerns, and failing to provide a practical solution for a customer who has no refrigerator to store food.
Because I do not believe this matter was handled appropriately, I have also filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Ontario Consumer Protection. I hope the company reviews both its quality control and customer service practices so future customers do not have to go through the same experience.
I expected much better support after spending thousands of dollars on a new appliance.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Canadian Appliance Source. I would strongly encourage prospective customers to consider other retailers.
