Fraudsters

These people are no more than fraudsters, contacting people with incorrect info over 20years out of date, demanding money you don't owe. Soon backed off when I asked for the legal teams information for my solicitor. The issue is that vulnerable people will get conned of potentially thousands of pounds. Have report them to the fraud dept of the police in the England and Scotland, trading standards and NatWest bank.

Is this a scam company?

capquest,opus!
Received 2 letters today 17/5 about a Vodafone account. Now I’ve NEVER been with Vodafone EVER-31/05/2023! Ive had the same Three account for 15+ years. It’s saying they can reduce the balance to £73.12 from £365.61. Why would they reduce a debt that much. I can’t ring them as I had cancer and now I don’t have any vocal cords or voice box.

21 Years of hell

Still being pursued for a debt that has been settled relating to 21 years ago.
Morally bankrupt and will be using a Subject access request to question Corporate governance processes. It seems unreasonable to be constantly pursued for debts that have been settled via an offer and then 5 years later coming back for more.

I received a letter today 08/05/2025…

I received a letter today 08/05/2025 from a Capquest requesting money for an outstanding debt from 2023. I have never heard of the company. I'm not even in debt of even borrowed money from the company they say I previously borrowed money from "Provident". They are scammers. I phoned their office number 0333 999 7200 that's provided on the letter they sent me. The person on the other end of the phone asked me for the reference number on the letter, without giving the number to them, I asked the person on the end of the phone for his name. he refused to give me his name and he ended the call.
Scammers like this should be reported and investigated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

Actual company has no records of debt

Recieved 2 letters with 2 letter heads both referncing eachother (Capquest and Arrow Global) referring to an apparent debt from 2023 with EE for £142.70 (I was already with EE for a few years by that time and still am to this day).

I called EE and asked if they could check the EE reference number that had been provided and for confirmation that they indeed hold records for accounts that have been sold on to which the confirmed they did.

It came as no shock that the EE reference number does not exists and the ONLY account they have on their system is for the account i have had for years, the operator agreed with my outcome that the company are scammers and going so far as to make up reference / account numbers to scam people out of money.

My advice would be if you recieve any letters from these scammers please call the company that they have supposedly bought your debt from to confirm there is an outstanding balance.

I am reporting this to the Financial Ombudsman and hopefully they get closed down.

Scam debt collection of ancient or none existent debts

Not me but my family member - letter received saying he owed 6k on an egg card, except egg went out of business 15 years ago and it’s common knowledge that most debts become statute barred after 6..
Absolute disgusting scam and should be illegal. Preying on people’s vulnerabilities and fears to scrounge money that isn’t even owed.
Whoever is running this ‘business’ needs to go and get a real job and stop posting fake positive reviews about this company.

Received a letter saying that I owed…

Received a letter saying that I owed money when I’ve paid every single debt I have. And I don’t have any default.

Apparently saying that I owed money off of an old very account when the only thing I’ve ever bought off a very was a steam mop and I have evidence that I cleared the balance in full!

I even tried logging on and very had cancelled my account due to inactivity so I reopened an account and was given credit again with the same company who apparently I owed money to? SCAMMERS

I AM A CLASSED AS VENERABLE AND RECIEVED A CAPQUEST LETTERT

Written on my behalf as I am classed as mentally vulnerable and have my financial affairs dealt with by a third person.

Had a letter from Capquest, saying I owed money for an Abbey National account. I have never opened an Abbey National account, but do get confused and forgetful these days, and I was worried how this 'debt' would affect my credit rating.

If I did not have someone helping me I would have tried to pay the amount in full without speaking over the telephone ( as I am phone phobic) and I'm not good at navigating my way around emails or computer things, ( hence I have daily help).

I dread to think if anyone doesn't have help and is in a vulnerable situation.

VERY MORALLY WRONG.
