I had a very upsetting experience with…

I had a very upsetting experience with CDER Group. I received a threatening text message saying that a removal unit had been booked to take goods from my property today. This was extremely stressful and felt like intimidation.

When I called them to ask how much I supposedly owe, they refused to give me a clear answer. I explained that I get paid on Friday and asked to make the payment then, but they showed no willingness to cooperate or give me time.

Instead of offering help or clear communication, they used pressure, threats, and refused to provide basic information. This felt like harassment and emotional blackmail.

I strongly do not recommend this company. Their behaviour is unprofessional, aggressive, and completely unacceptable.

Title: An Utter Disgrace – Bullying, Public Humiliation, and Threats from CDER Group

If you want a glimpse into the worst of human behaviour, look no further than the employees of this wretched company. Their callousness and cruelty are truly nauseating.

Their “agent” came to my home unannounced and pinned a 'notice' to my front door — in full view of neighbours — in what I can only describe as an attempt to shame and intimidate me.

When a concerned female neighbour approached to ask what he was doing, the agent responded by threatening to run her over if she didn’t move out of the way. That’s right — a grown man representing a government contractor thought it appropriate to threaten a disabled, vulnerable, 5ft tall woman with violence.

Let’s count the issues:

• Breach of the Public Order Act by making a threatening statement in public
• Failure to comply with the Taking Control of Goods Regulations 2013, especially regarding vulnerable debtors
• Harassment and public humiliation by posting sensitive information in full view
• Serious breach of UK GDPR by exposing personal and case-related data to third parties
• Rude and dismissive complaint staff who show no interest in resolving anything

CDER Group appears to operate without accountability, ignoring vulnerability notices and behaving in direct contradiction to national enforcement guidance, their own stated policies, and basic human decency.

There are hundreds of similar reviews online, all describing the same pattern of bullying and abuse — yet this company continues to receive government contracts. It's a national disgrace.

====

Here’s how to fight back:

Make an Internal Complaint
You must first complain directly to CDER Group. Keep full copies of what you send and any response. They should respond in 10–20 working days. This is required before escalating to bodies like the HCEOA.

Submit a Court Complaint (you don’t have to wait)
Check if the agent is certified via the government’s certificated bailiff register (search online).
Use the agent’s name to fill in Form EAC2 (Complaint Against a Certified Person) and send it to the court that certified them.

Submit a Subject Access Request (SAR)
Under UK GDPR, you can request all personal data CDER holds about you: visit logs, call recordings, internal notes, etc.
Email your SAR to their data protection officer (find details on their privacy policy). Include your name, address, reference numbers, and ask for “all personal data held about me”.
They must respond within one calendar month. If not, report them to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Report to the Enforcement Conduct Board (ECB)
This new independent body oversees enforcement companies in England and Wales. You can file a complaint with them (search “Enforcement Conduct Board UK”).

If a High Court Enforcement Officer (HCEO) is involved
You must wait for the internal complaint outcome before escalating to the High Court Enforcement Officers Association (HCEOA).

====

To those who morally judge people in debt:
Debt is not a character flaw. It's often the result of disability, illness, trauma, or job loss. No one deserves to be bullied, humiliated, or threatened for struggling — especially not by private companies profiting off vulnerability.

====

The UK government hires this company to collect public debts. That alone should alarm any decent person. We need proper oversight, protections for the vulnerable, and an end to the outsourcing of cruelty.

If you’ve experienced similar abuse:
Don’t stay silent. REPORT IT. CHALLENGE IT. SHARE YOUR STORY.

Together, we can hold them accountable.

CDER - appalling behaviour to young mum

I received a telephone call from my daughter at around 8.30 on Saturday 14 June - extremely upset. She was alone in the house with her 2 young children, her husband have left for work. She came downstairs to find a man from CDER demanding £500 for a clean air voilation some months ago. He insisted that recorded delivery demands had been sent when I pointed out these have to be signed for he stated he may have got it wrong. One letter had been received. He was also in the process of tagging the family car. My daughte works from work and would have received all post and no recorded deliveries received. He saw an unopened advertising letter on the table and said you have an unopened letter - my daughter opened the correspondence in front of him - it was nothing of consequence. I paid the bill. No option was given to negotiate. He seemed to enjoy his position of power over my distressed daughter who had to ask the children to return to their rooms. His parting shot was you can bring your children down now. Is this really a company sanctioned and approved of by Governments and local councils. Why was no negotiation offered over what was originally a very small fine for going into Birmingham. This was clearly bullying and misogynistic behaviour and clearly this company does not project ,on this occasion ,the image it seeks to advertise on their website.

My wife's car was clamped by incompetence

My wife's car was clamped because the employee of Cdergroup did not bother to check the number plate. my wife is 6 months pregnant and was out at work during this time which as you can imagine caused stress beyond belief. Apparently the camera that Cdergroup used picked up the number plate 'G' as a 'S' The employee dint bother to check it and just clamped the car. The car make colour or model did not even match at all. This was on wynn road, at 920 on the 13th June. I contacted them by phone when the car was clamped and was informed to put my complaint in a email and they would get back to me in 10 days. which is a joke. the guy that clamped the car eventually returned to the car and unclamped it.

Any one fancy giving me a call to apologies that would be great.

Shocking Company (if that's what you can call them)!

So apparently after 12 years of being at my property, they are now trying to trace a previous occupier. Having sent proof that I live at the property, this is not good enough, and I keep receiving the same generic email from them.
They have now sent someone round with a hand delivered letter.
I have given up trying to prove that I do not know the person in question and told them to keep turning up at my property, and I will call for the police!
What a farce of a company!

What a complete bunch of halfwits! the staff on the phones are maybe ok as they are only do there job and its recorded, but as for the recovery numties they think they think they are a law unto them self's. This recovery driver went a little bit to far this time with text messages to my daughter which has been saved and will be used as evidence as to his disrespectful attitude. Happy times!!!

Honestly the worst customer service if…

Honestly the worst customer service if you could call it that i have ever ever experienced. I've worked in customer service for 20 years. My husband's car incurred a fine for TFL whilst we were away on holiday someone from purple parking as someone drove our car at 1am in the morning. Purple parking didn't give a shit and as a result we had a fine that we have to pay. Didn't recieve any correspondence until we had a letter off Cder group. I rung them and told them our financial situation and gave them everything. They still proceeded to send an enforcement agent to bump the money up.
The call centre people at cder talk to people like trash. Totally unacceptable.

Worst company I have ever dealt with

Awful company, wish I could give them even less than 1 star. They claimed they had sent me correspondence about a traffic fine, but I received nothing. When trying to contact them via email to find my PCN number, they didn't get back to me, and instead sent enforcement agents round to the WRONG HOUSE and charged me £319 for the pleasure! They sent me several harassing and threatening texts despite making no effort to reply to me, and would not let me spread payments over more than 1 month after finally getting back to me, leaving me in an awful financial position. Scummy company with scummy staff.

Mr butlin needs legal action

Mr butlin needs legal action

My dad is suffering with his mental health. I called him on his behalf and made him awere. He has no gp had a bereavement and buried his brother a few weeks ago and his mental health has deteriorated. I asked him to put his account on hold for a couple of weeks so we can get him the help he needs. He had the audacity to tell me that he 'appears well' asked me if he is on medication and If I have power of attorney. Then went on to telle he is well. this is life and death and things like this can cause people to take their own lives. He is a disgusting individual who is a bully and belongs behind bars. Taking advantage of an unwell older man. You are not a Dr to diagnose anyone's mental health or capacity! If my dad ends up dead as a result of your bullying. I will make sure u go down for manslaughter!!

I wish I could give minus 5 for this…

I wish I could give minus 5 for this cruddy company.
Had a clean air zone fine £180. Set up multiole direct debits, all of which were cancelled there side, called and emails all ignored about payment plans.
Staff are rude and do not give you a chance to speak.
Then due to them ignoring all my attempts at contacting them and the direct debits being cancelled (all of this I have evidence of) they then decided to send out a agent. Spotrie the name. Who on my ring doorbell stood there for 20 mins banging like he was a police officer(we weren't home at the time) To the point a neighbour told him to fk off and he did.
The he's ignored 2 direct calls from me and now read and ignored the text messages I have sent them.
This company are financial bullies, who ignore any communications and then just put it to collections and act like you never tried to communicate with them.
They will enjoy what my solicitor will send them by weeks end.

Is this a company?

This company is not very interested in listening anyone that calls to their customer care .
When you try to explain and clarify any doubt, they just disconnect the call.
There are no customer care, no supervisor, just people that don't care or act during the night to deliver notices "by hand" notices, If this kind of of organized group wasn't a serious issue, we would say that they are a joke.

I received a letter not in my name…

I received a letter not in my name yesterday, the first instance I heard about a debt owed at my property. I spoke to the agent who left his number and he said to call the office to explain the situation, he was really decent to be fair to him.

The letter was hand delivered, without a date or time on it, which seemed odd to me as I thought that was a requirment, it was also left hanging out the front of the letter box and not properly posted, so could easily have fallen out in the wind leading to further problems.

When I eventually spoke to the office after the faff of their automated system, the agent Mandy, I beleive was INCREDIBLY rude, refused to let me speak or explain the situation and demanding documents of me, when I did ask her to stop interupting me, she did for the first sentence I spoke, but continued to be rude to me after this, lastly deciding my case wasnt worth her time of helping me get this removed for a letter in a name of no one I know, and promptly hung up on me.

Not really the customer service or support I would expect, when I have nothing to do with this case other than it being at my address....

Horrible nasty people

The worst company I have ever ever dealt with, the way the staff speak to people is inhuman, belittling ,unfair , nasty and rude . No empathy nor consideration. In my case my debt was unknown of I actually thought the letter I received was a scam- ( the letter took 10 days to reach me ) so gave me 6 days in total to deal with the issue.. I called the office immediately when the letter arrived - it was 1 letter to say they were sending an enforcement agent out in 6 days - I asked for the case to be put on hold while I questioned with the debt owner if this was legit - they did not do this - they sent a agent round who scared my children - demanded funds by 11am or seizing my car£85 debt . All in all I had 6 days from receiving the letter to pay and the debt then over doubled - to £395 - asked to set up a payment plan they said no.
I have questioned with the original debt owners and I’ve not even had a response- they aim to get back within 14 days to queries .
Outrageous- I would be ashamed to work for this company. It’s bullying! And I hope Karma gets you all.
I don’t know if the FOS will take these cases but You can complain to -
Enforcement Conduct Board (ECB) or a court.
