I called to inform them that my wife had died. They came up with a car insurance premium that was £40 more than previously quoted but said they would honour the original quote. Consequently I agreed to stay with them. They have debited the higher amount from my credit card.
Churchill responded and provided a link for me to get in touch but unfortunately it doesn’t work.

I think Churchill works well as long as nothing goes wrong, then the internal procedures and stove-piping get in the way of addressing the problem.
My car got rear-ended. The other party wrote to me accepting liability. It would seem simple that I would forward this to Churchill and all would be well, particularly because they were apparently having trouble getting the other party's insurer to respond!. But they reject my emails (because they don't come from gmail/outlook/etc.) I eventually got round it by sending it to an employee's personal email, but the barriers put in the way of resolving this are plainly ridiculous.
The car repair seems to be progressing fine, but I now regret putting any time into trying to help them close the case. It wasted a lot of my time and I don't think it benefitted me in any way, it just made it easier for them to claim and close it.
All the people I spoke to were friendly and understanding, but being heavily stove-piped couldn't actually do much except ask me to call a number, talk to a bot for ages, then wait in a queue, then have an unsatisfactory conversation. Not good.
I shall probably pay a little more and renew elsewhere.

The webste and application process are straightforward. They also don't gazump the price after the first year. The increase was in line with inflation.
