Computer Planet 

My second experience with buying a Computer Planet PC (first was 7 years ago). As before, it was excellent. The PC was straightforward to configure, it arrived ahead of time, and worked perfectly from the start. Computer Planet answered my few queries quickly and helpfully. Thoroughly recommended.

Great service despite the worldwide shortage with Nvidia. The PC works perfectly and quietly.

Extremely poor service. This company masquerades as a large outfit but in reality they work like a very small computer shop. I ordered a full pc system. Cost around £2k. Had multiple problems and the PC was sent back and forth approximately 5 times for repairs. Most of the times they said they had fixed a problem the PC would return with the same issue. In addition after multiple trips back and forth and despite me saying I was happy to drop off and collect in person the PC was damaged by their courier or before despatch.

After many months of issues I asked for a full refund. They did give a refund without issue which I can't complain about but the multiple issues, inconvenience and loss of time without a PC was totally unacceptable.

This is not a plug but I bought from Scan. Their service is far superior and the PC is fantastic. Their price was slightly more but the PC is significantly better. You ultimately get what you pay for. I wouldn't use Computer Planet again.

I am very happy with my recent PC purchase from Computer Planet.
Due to the recent problems with supply of graphics cards there were slight delays with shipping but I was kept informed of progress all the way.
When my PC arrived it was well packaged and worked perfectly as soon as I set it up.

Communication with the team is smooth and straightforward. The team responded quickly to any query or question I had. It was no problem to made small adjustments to the components during the assembly stage. The computer is just as ordered and carefully put together. I selected parts for a super quiet but powerful machine and have to say it's better than expected - I can't hear a thing.
I will come back for more.

My pc arrived brilliantly packed and runs like a dream. I wasn't the easiest of customers and there were some delays because of shortage of hardware but they got that issue solved and sent me the most powerful PC i have owned yet. Thanks again guys!!

I ordered my pc during the great nvidia rtx 30 series drought of 2021, computer planet kept me informed on their stocks all throughout my order and even offered to loan me a card until the 30 series cards came through. I would definitely recommend buying a computer through computer planet.

This company has really impressive customer service during the production process. I got daily text message and email updates and was told everything that was happening on a daily basis. The PC was a very low price compared to some other places and I only had to wait an extra 3 days for a the hold to get hold of graphics cards. 10/10

Excellent service again from Computer Planet, this is my second P.C from them,as really impressed with my first purchase some years ago,which still works fine but just showing its age,ordered my new gaming P.C arrived really quick with a great spec, so really happy with purchase.

A month to get a working computer.

Short version:
If time worth anything to you, go elsewhere.
If you expect customer service that cares about their customers, stay away.
If you want the option of a refund, ComputerPlanet does not offer any.

So good news first, it seems I have a working computer.

On the 4'th of January I ordered a custom built PC. On the 4'th of February I got it back.

Long version;
I placed my order on the 4'th of January and the following day I get an auto generated email saying they have started building. The next time I hear anything is on the 18'th of January, another auto generated email saying it will be shipped and delivered the next day, on the 19'th. This is 12 working days from order to delivery, or 16 days (inc weekend) which, either way, is longer than promised, but still acceptable to me.

So I get the PC. Power it up and get an error on the loading screen saying "CPU FAN ERROR". Not exactly what I was hoping for, as it had gone through "quality control". So I speak to one of their customer service people on chat, who says I would need to open a ticket. So I do. 
The next day I get a reply explaining to me how I tell the computer to ignore the CPU Fan in bios. I follow the orders and the error message disappears. 

It then try plugging in some USB cables in the back, but the slots does not align with the holes. So I go back on chat, and the customer service rep says that the motherboard can sometimes shift while shipped, so I should try to re-align it, move it around till it fits. Which I do, and it slips into place.

Then I plug in my speakers. No sound. No sound options to choose from either. I try for hours to make sure I have the right drivers, googling this issue, trying to find the problem, but without any luck. 

I open another ticket, explaining the situation. They ask for a picture of where I plug in the sound. I send. 
The next day they tell me to download some specific drivers. I do. Nothing works. I am frustrated at this point as I was hoping for a working computer that I could start using.

I borrow a sound card from a neighbor. Sound works fine.


They tell me to ship the computer back as they will need to swap the motherboard. They also mention if I don't have the original packaging I can order it from them for only 25 quid.
This is of course ridiculous as they sent me a broken computer, so I call Computer Planet.
 I explain the situation to someone on the phone. He says that he will send me the packaging. I also ask how long swapping the motherboard will take, and he says 1 day max. They will swap and ship it back on the same day.

I send it back. It arrives 11am the 27'th of January. I hear nothing. Not that they have received it, or that they will fix it. So I ask on the chat service.
I am told it is quite likely to be shipped that same afternoon. It is not. Same story every day. I go to chat, he says he will "personally" make sure it's shipped.
It is not.
I ask what their policy is for returns, and is told there is none. They do not offer returns, they only offer repairs.



I write a ticket asking the tech guys and they reply the next day saying it will be shipped on the 2'rd of February.
It is not. I ask again.
They say next day. It is finally sent. 
So that 1 day max turned into 9 days for them to swap my motherboard. I asked specifically if they just swapped the motherboard, and the reply was "Just this part yes."

I took exactly 1 month from ordering to getting a working computer.
I never heard anything from anyone, without chasing. Never heard an apology, never an update.


I do not know why anyone would bring their business here as there are other companies out there who do a far better job.



I can certainly understand some computers can run into trouble. But the issues I had, was most certainly things that should've been picked up in "quality control".
If I had felt like they were on top of it, keeping me informed why things were slow, it would have been a bit more bearable.

There is nothing to be 'explained away' on your reply to this rating. Your apology will certainly be worthless at this point.

The only thing I learnt from this is to order my computer elsewhere next time.

*Update (day after this review):
One of their employees wrote to me on their website saying that he was sorry to see that I was so upset about their service, and based on me being so unhappy about their service, he offered to collect the working computer for a full refund. I turned down the refund, as the computer (as explained before this update) is actually working now. The return would then be purely out of principle, not because I was having an issue with the computer.
Oh, and I never heard anything about a global delay in any of the components i ordered. On the page where I could pick parts, all items I picked was in stock.
I also made a point out of the fact that the few days extra for building was acceptable for me.

Our new PC arrived in 11 days with the new rtx 3070 so couldnt be happier as i was expecting to wait longer.

Poor communication. Poor service. Not worth the hassle of dealing with

So I visited this company's website today wanting to purchase an AMD processor, but first enquired about their stock levels over online chat. I waited for over an hour and a half with no response at all. This is simply not good enough and as a result I will not be buying from them. I am very glad that I didn't order before contacting them because imagine the nightmare I would have had if I needed help or to return the item. I would recommend this company drastically improve their response times if they want to ensure that customers continue to support them in the future.

Edit: the company has now responded and called this review a "Strange Review". Thank you for being extremely rude. May I ask what is strange about it? Your website does not state that you cant buy individual products while browsing a product, and you are given the option to add the CPU to your basket, not to a build configuration. Therefore your website is misleading too. Minus stars for that! In Addition to this, I have physical evidence that I had sent my query via your online chat, and evidence of how much time elapsed with no response.

I ordered just prior to christmas with a guarantee for arriving before christmas and it did. Computer planet did an excellent job with my PC build and I have had no issues so far. Thank you!
