Excellent from start to finish

Excellent from start to finish. Been looking for a decent (and reliable) custom PC builder for sometime and believe we have found the best. Excellent website (allows you to experiment with parts), then they keep you informed of build progress and shipping etc. Really impressed with the attention to detail and the excellent professional build quality,. Thanks you.

This is my second PC built by these guys. Great service again!

This is my second PC built by these guys. First one was in 2012 and lasted up to December 2018.
Before ordering a new PC I've shopped about and checked out a few other custom build shops. ComputerPlanet came out first in my list - great selection of components available, slick web-interface PC builder (have you seen some other web-pc-builders? they are horrid!). And prices are better than in other places - same build as I've ordered came out £1000 cheaper in ComputerPlanet than in my second-choice shop. So a great win here.

The lead time was a bit longish, but I guess I should've paid the express build. Delivery was bang on on time - they said it'll arrive on 21st - it got here about noon on 21st.

The quality of build was excellent - everything was as ordered.
Also they have patiently answered all my (stupid) questions.

So they have built everything as promised, they have delivered on time, they were nice to speak to. That amounts to a great service in my book.

Great PC & Service

A few months on and I thought it was time for the feedback.

The parcel arrived - great packaging and unpacking was a real ceremony full of anticipation.

Everything was ready to use, so after a quick personalisation I was up and running.
It performs every bit as fast as I had hoped (and even faster with the SSD drive).
So quiet I don't notice it's there - this is how computers should be.
5* on all accounts.

Nextdaypc

Ordered a computer on a site called nextdaypc which sames to be part of computer planet,
The spec and price was brilliant and ordered and paid for via paypal for my son.
Was contacted a few days later cancelling the order with no explanation, even though requested and refunded without the option of arranging a alternative, so had to finance a new computer twice for a short period of time.
I personally would avoid this company!

THE REPLY ABOUT FAILED PAYPAL VERIFICATION IS NOT CORRECT, THE PAYMENT WAS DEDUCTED FROM OUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT THEN CREDITED AFTER YOU DECIDED NOT TO SUPPLY THE ORDERED GOODS AND RETURNED THE PAYMENT TO PAYPAL

Fantastic customer service

Fantastic customer service - my teenager changed his mind numerous times. The staff replied immediately to emails and arranged a courier to pick up the unwanted itens. Cannot praise them enough!

Poor communication; lost confidence and cancelled order

Positives:
The website PC customiser was pretty fluid and easy to use.
They allowed me to make changes after order was placed.

Negatives:
The rest of my experience was not great, however. I placed the order on 13th Dec and it went into production on 15th Dec. Logging into their customer area a few days in, the order status was 'burnin testing started'. It remained as such for well over a week (if you read their testing process on their site, the burn in test is supposed to take 24 hours) and until after their estimated completion date (listed on the same page). The production log was also free of any comments. So, the customer area on their site isn't at all informative.

The day after the order should have been completed and shipped, the site still said 'burnin testing started' so I contacted them for an update. I was told that the order was in testing and should be shipped either that day or the day after. The day after was a Friday and I had not selected weekend delivery, but I didn't query it at the time. Anyway, I did get an email the day after to say they hadn't been able to get the PC shipped yesterday day but they would try for today, but then nothing else from them on the Friday (or over the weekend, but if they are closed fair enough).

Following up on the the next Monday, I was told the PC was in testing and was nearly ready for shipping. Again. I pointed out that this is what I'd been told days ago, and Sam (via live chat) promised to look into it and email me an email update - which never materialised.

Having spent some more time reading some of the negative reviews here, which match my experience, I lost confidence in the company - imagine if the PC malfunctioned and had to be returned for repair; this level of communication would be really frustrating - so I cancelled.

Upon my cancelling the order they cited stock issues. So... if there was some stock issue holding up the build, how did it get to the final stage of testing, and why was I repeatedly told it was pretty much ready for shipping? If they had told me there was an issue with stock and either let me select different components or wait a bit longer, I would have been fine with this. But it seems they either fobbed me off or the people I was talking to didn't actually know what was happening. Neither of these possibilities instils confidence.

I think this sums up the whole experience - really poor and often contradictory communication from them. I get that xmas is a busy time, and that they might have stock issues. It happens - if they'd communicated effectively I would have given them more time.

To be fair, they did not quibble my decision to cancel and have confirmed in writing that a refund will be issued. Hopefully this won't require additional chasing from me to actually get the money back - will update this review accordingly.

Edited to add: refund received on 7th December, no additional chasing required from me.

We apologize for delay with this order which was caused by delayed stock coming in of the brand new Intel 9600K CPUs and that November/December is the busiest time of year for us. The was completed and being shipped on the day the customer request a refund. As requested we agreed and issued a full refund.

Excellent gaming PC

Excellent gaming PC

I ordered a custom made gaming PC from Computer Planet and from start to finish the experience has been very good. I chose my own components and the website kept me fully updated at all times re: compatibility of the components as well as overall price. The computer came when promised and it has been running like a dream from day 1 (and it has already racked considerable amount of gaming hours). I would definitely recommend this service to anyone looking to invest on a new machine.

I ordered a custom build but I asked…

I ordered a custom build but I asked for something a bit 'stupid'; 3 extra pci-e usb cards to give me 12 extra usb ports (as I have A LOT of usb peripherals like eg, 3 printers and have a ton of usb adapters for retro game pads for using the real original controllers in emulators and I'm super anal retentive thus HATE the clutter of using hubs)

It wasn't an option on the order form but they said they could still do it and went ahead with that request. It went well over the 9 day time period and after I asked what the delay was told me they couldn't do it. So I said fair enough it didn't matter as I knew it was bit of a stupid request anyway and said to send it without them.

Which they did straight away and par those extra cards it arrived super fast and was otherwise all to my exact specs I had ordered. It was all well put together and I am very happy with it and I've since bought the extra cards and added them in myself anyway. Which was a case of buying multiple brands until I found a combo of 3 different brands that windows accepted without any conflicts. So I understand the problem with doing it on their end.

HOWEVER it has since taken me a long time (nearly 3 months from original purchase) for them to finally refund the money I paid for the extra cards but they did in the end. So it's a 4.5/5 really but I'll call it 5 still. Thus PROVIDING your not a weirdo like me asking for a super odd custom thing like that for normal folk all is fine and good with this company and service.

We were in the market for a new gaming computer with good specs and room to upgrade in the future and when I saw the price of the spec i customised using the design your own options, I thought it was too good to be true. I priced checked against 2 other companies but couldn't match the parts or the 2 year warranty so I am pleased with the results and have already recommended them to my friends. Very simple to order. Great website.
