Avoid this company, they Park their lorries in residential areas overnight for weeks in total disregard for road safety, they block corners, take one lane causing bottlenecks.

The most unorganised place I’ve worked at. They short staffed and need a hard man also.

Driving along m4 with my children in the car a core van was driving recklessly and nearly crashed in to my car and laughed then over took us and nearly crashed in to another car the drivers reg was OU21 UGP This driver shouldn't be on the road .

This company blatently let's their drivers inconsiderately park wherever they like, taking up 3 spaces that single mums need to park in. Complained many times they literally don't care so if your having the same problems don't waste your time. Inconsiderate to say the least.

Laying off a dozen finance staff 3 months before Christmas, just so the CFO can employ new people into the same roles but closer to where he lives doesn't give 'Together Stronger' vibes, like their tagline states.

Over the last few years, starting when the 5 legacy companies combined and a board was created, there has been more staff leaving, whether by their own fruition or by way of 'redundancy' than the company are able to re-employ and fill previous positions.
This doesn't stop the CFO using (not so) critical thinking and deciding to completely lay-off the accounts department before securing new staff, in Milton Keynes.
Obviously, not just putting a strain on what staff is left in accounts but also on the other departments that require information from Account as well as those who Accounts need information from - creating an atmosphere of dread, sorrow & despair.

But, don't worry. Surely the 'powers that be' know what they're doing, right? right??

They're all experienced in the sector that they're now trading in, right?..

They've spent years mastering their trade, by successfully managing people/teams/departments, as well as years in civil engineering/traffic management/ contracting, right???

No?.. oh, well.. good luck to them, then.

To the staff, the do-ers - not the board, not the senior management;
Good luck!
Good luck for the next few years of insecurity, for the fear of the unknown.
Here's to you being able to get out, before you're forced out. Do it on your accord, when you say, when you're comfortably ready.
But, do it sooner rather than later.

Very high turn over in staff, and they do NOT PAY YOU

I want a job with Amberon (Core Highways). The same as the chap who's driven his Amberon "Highway Maintenance" truck to Station Road in Castle Cary for the last 3 days (at least), has parked up and sits there engine running, lights on, all day. And then drives away again at the end of the afternoon. There's no-one else working on that stretch of road - so what does he actually do? (Apart from annoy all the motorists who have to stop at the temporary traffic lights for no apparent reason).
There's a serious point to all this:
1. Sitting in a truck with the engine running is not only extremely bad for the environment, it annoys those people that have to live next to it.
2. Someone - probably the local ratepayers - is paying for all this inefficiency.

I don't blame the chap in the truck. I blame his Managers who clearly have no idea what's going on - and the company that subcontracted the work to Core Highways without knowing how inefficient they are.
Maybe I have it all wrong. Maybe he does a traffic census all day. Maybe he counts how many cars jump the red lights. Maybe he's "tuning" the timing of the lights to make them more efficient.
Who knows?
