I have been with Crowd2Fund for a year

I have been with Crowd2Fund for about a year, and I have added to my investment with them over that time. I invest in several other P2P platforms. The platform has continued to improve and so far the investment opportunities presented seem well vetted, and the number of investments available is increasing. The ISA wrapper allows all of this to be tax free which is excellent. Recommended.

Have a good look

Easy to use, I am kept well informed.
I don't invest big bucks but I do like the fact that I am supporting smaller companies.

Having recently registered with Crowd2Fund I can only talk about the early stages using this service.
My experience so far is very positive....registering and setting up the account has been a very easy process and when I did have a couple of questions a phone call to an English speaking, knowledgeable & helpful person resolved the issues quickly.

So Far So Good...Thanks

Not so shiny and new

You have to sign up before being able to see whats available .You have to make a deposit either by some dubious escrow setup or with your debit card which is charged a fee.
Once in you are given a choice of investments to buy .Over half were not available ,the rest being leftovers from someone elses banquet.
Hope it works........

Generally easy to use

Good rates of interest provided you're willing to accept a level of risk.

Generally easy to use platform, can catch you out if you're not paying attention - for example amount entered to check interest payable is not carried over when making an investment.

Also not convinced it's handling IFISA contributions properly, having opened an IFISA in 2017-18 it's showing investment made in 2016-17 as included in the wrapper.

Service is promising but clearly in its infancy.
The UI is not well optimised for finding out pertinent information.
Presentation of investment opportunities is neither clear nor well designed.

Also the absolute number of investable opportunities simply isnt that large. However (and its a big however) if that's because the C2F team are being judicious in their screening and setting a very high bar to protect us investors then who's to complain about that.

Ultimately this service will stand or fall by the net returns after defaults. So far so good. Ask me again after 34 more repayment periods.

Good IFISA but need better website interface

They are one of the only few IFISA providers out there- overall they manage to provide a good ROI, and cancel any loans if they realise risk profile may have changed. Negatives are to with how the website works: the data is not very transparent, the website is slightly clunky and they publicly display new investment activity from all users on a live data stream on their website.

Making investing interesting again

My experience of Crowd2fund has been excellent. I initially looked at Crowd2fund due to the fact that they were one of only a few fully FCA authorised providers of the IFISA. A quick look at all providers led me to the conclusion that Crowd2fund was for me. In addition to the good interest rates offered by all and the 0% default rate, they had the most user friendly and interesting website. They show an interest in providing loans to socially aware and ecologically responsible businesses which is a plus in my mind. They have an easy to use website and app for the iphone. The investment experience is outstanding enabling you to totally control your own investment, leave it totally up to their Smartinvest AI system or a combination. There are a decent number of investment opportunities at any one time and new ones come regularly. The interest rates are set by Crowd2fund after their Due diligence processes I would suspect reflecting risk levels and the investor can make their own assessment of risk by looking at the description of the business, their Duedil or Equifax rating and recent financial performance of the business along with the ability to directly ask the business a question through the website. In addition to this you can get access to your capital quite rapidly(interest rate dependent) by listing it on the Exchange an open market where your loan investment can be sold. I have had contact both over the phone and via email with Crowd2fund and have found the service provided to be nothing short of excellent, answering my questions and providing help and assistance promptly, efficiently and in a friendly manner. My dealings with them have not seemed impersonal like many companies but rather have made me feel that they do have my interest at heart and they value their investors and treat them as people not just a customer. They are willing to listen and respond to feedback and they seem to be striving to improve their service at all times. I can assure them that If they can maintain this experience and level of service they have got me as an investor for a long time.

Disgraceful dealings with an unscrupulous bank.

I started investing in Crowd2Fund because I am concerned that my money may be used to damage the world, and I thought I would have control over what companies it is invested in. However I have recently realised that all my money when not yet invested is held in an account belonging to Barclays Bank. Barclays is a despicable bank with no ethics whatsoever. They own a company called Third Energy which is trying to frack for gas in my local area of Yorkshire. They know that this activity will poison the water supply of local people, industrialise our beautiful countryside and contribute to catastrophic global warming that will lead to misery for everyone on the planet, but they will do it anyway because they care about nothing about people, only about short term profit. I am severely disappointed to find that Crowd2Fund give my money to a bank that is actively working against my own interests, and I will not be investing any new money with them until I hear they have cut all connections with Barclays Bank.

Great company, helpful customer service

Great company, IFISA quick and simple to set up. Very helpful when contacted and always respond quickly to emails. A few teething problems with ISA - should automatically be able to reinvest repayments instead of having to do so manually.

The BEST IFISA!

I cannot understand any reviews that are less than 5 * as having used Crowd2Fund for over seven months now I have genuinely found them to be an EXCELLENT platform. They are quick to remove any suppliers from their list if their credit worthiness status changes, and this combined with their 0% default rate means I have 100% confidence in them to look after my investments. They have always responded to any of my own queries that I have emailed within 24 hours, and I have also signed up two other members of my family too!
None of the other IFISA platforms have comparable interest rates, or such a broad selection of investments , and this allows you to spread your investments and reduce risk . I am going to re-subscribe to C2F for this coming financial year too, and can't wait to see what new opportunities for investment I will have access to.

Poor website and communication

I have been using crowd2fund as an investor for the past six months and have noticed quite a few problems in this time. The website fails to track transaction correctly, for example I recently sold an investment on the exchange and although the cash value changed correctly the total wrapper value did not, also the amount of money it claims I have invested is also incorrect, this figure also should be a dynamic value as the borrowers pay back it should go down accordingly but it does not. There is also a pie chart with how your investments break down, into loans, bonds etc, this is also incorrect. I have tried contacting Crowd2fund via email to notify them of these errors but they have so far failed to reply.

Investment opportunities can appear and disappear very quickly, crowd2fund doesn’t currently notify it investors when a new opportunities arrive, so the only way to find them is to go to the website and navigate the investment opportunities page. They also have a “coming soon” part at the bottom of the investment opportunities page, in my experience these opportunities rarely materialise. Crowd2fund tend to have around six new opportunities a month, so it can take some time to get appropriate amount of diversification.

I think Crowd2fund really need to concentrate on getting the basic right and making the websites interface a user friendly experience.

Empathic design: coming soon?

From the rather condescending e-mails received when one invests in a loan - "Congratulations on investing £xxx in yyy..." to the most complex, user-unfriendly process imaginable for depositing funds into the platform, Crowd2Fund has some way to go to achieve a comfortable user interface.

C2F might be "thrilled to confirm that zzz have successfully raised £qqq with ppp investors", but we would be more interested to hear about radical improvements to the lender experience.
