A friend ordered two gifts from UK to me, CTT promised 2 week delivery, ITS BEEN ALMOST A FULL MONTH DELAY! CTT is the only mail company I've been having issues with! beside the outrageous prices! This is a joke of a company

Shame on these INCOMPETENT FOOLS!

Shame on these fools. Over a month - SITTING. Could you imagine having to rely on this service for a BUSINESS? OMG - You would be Bankrupt immediately! THIS IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE. Over ONE MONTH waiting for my package. KARMA will do what it does... but it won't help my package NOW. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ALLOW ANYTHING TO BE SENT TO ME THROUGH CTT.

Customs processing is a nightmare!

For packages sent within Portugal and EU, the CTT service works quite well and I have never experienced a problem. But when a package comes from outside the EU, it is an absolute nightmare to get it through CTT customs!

I have never experienced an organization that is so dysfunctional! I feel sorry for the postal workers because they have to deal with the angry customers, when the real problem is that the top managers have made an impossible system.

It took nearly 6 weeks for my box of clothing to be processed, and it might have taken several months if I had not aggressively pushed them from every angle I could think of. When I finally received the package, CTT customs had not even opened it to check its contents, so it had just been on a shelf waiting for 6 weeks.

I will never have anything sent to Portugal from outside the EU again if they use CTT to deliver the package!

If you have also made this mistake, then you should seriously consider if it is worth growing an ulcer and decreasing your life by several years to try and get the package through CTT customs, or if you should simply let the package go back to the sender.

There is not much point in contacting CTT customer service through their web-site, because they don't do anything.

If you want to make a formal complaint about CTT, then use the website "livroreclamacoes pt" instead, but you should still not expect much to happen. This also informs the government's postal regulator ANACOM for their statistics - but unfortunately they don't really do anything to punish CTT's management.

I wish CTT customs would do the same as every other postal service in the civilized world: Charge a small fee of e.g. 10 Euro per package to do the customs processing, and demand payment from the recipient upon delivery of the package. This would fund a larger customs department that could handle the work-load, so the packages could be delivered quickly.

Piracy alive and well at CTT

Allow me to jump in the fray of despondent and annoyed people who monopolize this forum.
I am a tourist traveling Europe on my motorcycle, I unfortunately was celebrating my birthday in Portugal and my son sent me a pair of motorcycle gloves from Canada. Lets call it what it is, they were hijacked and held for ransom in Lisbon by CTT. These gloves are leaving the country so import duty is clearly not warranted. Further to this I had to fill out a ridiculous form designed for residents and citizens as it does not accept my Irish nor USA address or phone numbers. Finally I was forced to use the holiday apartment address, an acquaintance's phone number and was told I had to pay thirty five percent import duty at the multibanco, surprise surprise only Portuguese cards accepted, got that sorted same acquaintance. I wonder if people from Portugal who go on vacation, buy a house, open a local bank account and get a local phone because it appears they want me to do that for the three weeks I am here, hmmmm. Needless to say, their phones do not work, their emails do not work and my gloves are still being held and it has not only cost my son an extra twenty five dollars for express post having them arrive in five days, me three hundred dollars to extend my stay thinking stupidly they would be released once I paid the ransom, plus the ransom money and I leave without them. I see piracy is still alive and well in this country. It has soured what was a lovely part of my trip. So in conclusion, do not use CTT, in my humble opinion it is nothing more than state sponsored theft. A class action law suit might be in the making if everyone could get together.

Do anything you can to avoid the awful service

Oh god this is the worst delivery company I have ever used. They will lie about trying to knock on your door. I've waited in for 3 days where every day they have lied and said they tried to deliver but I wasn't there. It's really upsetting.
CTT will charge you extra for their failure to deliver and if you don't pay they will auction stuff off in one of their quarterly auctions of undelivered goods.
I genuinely hate this company more than nestle. Mostly because this company has the audacity to lie to me after I gave up activities to stay inside to receive my package.
Do anything you can to avoid.

Rubish worst service ever 0 stars

Rubish worst service ever 0 stars. After paid and waited 3 months without being delivered I had to pay again Portuguese costume called ( alfandega ) and they haven't delivered as I had someone all day home waiting for the parcel as they lye saying they attempt to deliver only once . After 3 months on waiting they haven't attempt to redeliver and sent my parcel back to uk....( aldraboes ) be careful so no get scammed by them crap services

Absolutely shameful

Absolutely shameful
more than 5 (!) months ago we have received five parcels which arrived two weeks late (never on time when using CTT ) we are already used to the sad fact that EVERYTHING is always late when dealing with CTT and 2 weeks suppose to be not very long compared to the previous delays
today we have received an email from CTT :

"Dear Customer

By mistake, the amount previously sent was incorrect. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and ask you to consider the new payment details described below.

After customs clearance of your shipment EE178087585IL, it was verified by the competent authorities that there are outstanding amounts to be paid for customs debt regularization purposes. The cleared object constitutes an importation made in the amount of 2.52€, including the necessary service of presentation to customs provided by CTT in the amount of 2€ + VAT."

its been 5 months since this was paid and now they want more money,is that even legal?

The worst company I've ever dealt with.

The worst company I've ever dealt with.

I was sent a package in DECEMBER. I heard nothing about it until getting in touch in FEBRUARY, and was told then that I didn't respond to their post asking me to pay customs fees. I never received anything from them. They said they'd send the parcel back to the sender in England.

Here we are in MARCH and I've been in touch again because the parcel hasn't arrived back in England. It's STILL sitting in Lisbon, and I've been told I just have to wait and they'll send it 'as soon as possible' and can't give any updates further than that.

I can't begin to describe how awful the entire process has been, and I concur with every bad review on here.

I'm at a loss as to what I can do now. Show up at their offices and cause a scene? Wait patiently until they decide it's time to send it back, a day that may never come?

Worst company ever! They want you to pay import tax to receive your package but don't let you pay the tax if you're
a foreigner without MB. Also tried to change the address and they said it was not possible🙄 very disappointed!

APPALLING.

Purchased two beautiful handmade jewellery boxes from a seller in Portugal via Etsy, they were handed over to CTT on 9th December 2021 and have never arrived to me in the UK, it is now February 15th 2022. Why do sellers even bother to use this sham company, I would rather pay more shipping and they use a reputable company so that I can receive my shipment.
I have been refunded fully by my seller thankfully. I can only hope the boxes have been returned to him, but have a feeling looking at the other reviews they have most likely been stolen! My tracking number is CA000603403PT.

absolutely awful.

the worst company experiences ive ever had have been with ctt, theyre absolutely awful.

2 packages of mine got stuck in customs, and i wasnt informed about it whatsoever until they were already sent back. upon calling ctt, the worker on the line kept saying “there is nothing i can do, you need to go and file a complaint”, and aside from that she was also completely clueless and did not take in anything i had to say.

apart from that, theyre just generally horrible. service is slow, customer support is trash and they honestly dont care about their customers whatsoever.

honestly a trash company, avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs for God's sake

Avoid this nightmare at all costs!!! They lost a parcel with my passport inside and the custom care is the most ridiculous on earth. They would transfer you countless times and hang up on you. I am calling for 3-4 hours every day and they keep transferring me over and over. It's an endless cycle.

Run away as fast as you can. Any other shipping company will be a better choice. Even a pigeon.
