Traversing the Atlantic on the Queen Mary 2 is an amazing experience and a way to switch off and relax. Arriving into NYC in the early morning and watching the sunrise over the skyline is an absolute... See more

Cruise over - CSR doesn't respond to Complaints
My wife and I recently completed an Alaska voyage with Cunard aboard the Queen Elizabeth. We disembarked at approximately 7:30 a.m. on June 2, 2026.
Voyage Details:
• Voyage Number: Q614
• Travel Dates: May 21, 2026 – June 2, 2026
• Stateroom:
Our luggage was collected through the Porter Service. We checked three pieces of luggage. Two arrived with us in San Diego, but the third piece did not.
Alaska Airlines personnel initially advised that the missing bag showed a status of "Cancelled." They have since confirmed that they never received the bag. I am hoping you can help determine its whereabouts and whether it may still be in a Cunard baggage handling area or another location associated with the transfer process.
Since June 2, we have called and emailed repeatedly, yet it feels as though our complaint has been ignored.
When we do reach someone, we receive the same response: they are looking into it and someone will call us the next day.
Surprise, No call back. This has been nearly a month, and this is very Unsatisfactory. Unfortunately, we can't even get a person on the phone ot lodge a proper complaint.
WE WILL NEVER TRAVEL WITH CUNARD AGAIN.
Queen Mary 2 RIP off
Queen Mary 2 RIP off ?
We have generally had a pleasant time on board however a few niggles
1. Payments and pricing. Nothing is transparent for example my son and I seeing the advert for a free haircut went and were told we had to come back later . We had an extremely quick back and sides trim which cost a staggering $140 . As we had to make an appointment I wasn’t so stupid as to think I wouldn’t be charged BUT there’s no prices up anywhere so how are you to know?
We are on the drinks package but we also have a fridge in our room in the information it gives prices for cola etc but it’s not obvious if you have a drinks package if this is covered ! ( edit: the fridge in our room is charged even though we are on the drinks package ! So if we want a cola we have to leave our room get the lift walk the corridor get service at a bar using our card and return all the way back when we have that exact same drink in our fridge ! Utterly ridiculous!!)
It states on line that room service and food is free but there is a price list in the room ? So do we pay or not
Next service and friendliness. Most of the staff are really great but bizarrely both the captain and shop staff seem to be averse to any conversation !
We were invited to meet the Captain we turned up after getting suited and booted! We stood in line but were being actively encouraged to enter via the other door and NOT meet the Captain ! We carried on and had to alcohol gel our hands. We walked up to the Captain tried to shake hands but he said no and fist bumped . Then no conversation other than you stand there I stand here photo taken then right will speak later before being shooed away. We never talked to the captain because after a well rehearsed quick speech he disappeared as did most people leaving the room empty and my wife and I wondering why we even bother to get dressed up . I also think the way we were greeted was extremely disrespectful and smacked of “ more stupid passengers”
The sales staff in the stores particularly the watch stores just ignore you pure and simple! We went to a champagne watch event to find nothing there only people looking at jewelry had champagne certainly we weren’t offered any! The whiskey selection is very poor no Island whiskey like lagavuillin or laphroig ! The book shop is an absolute joke with empty shelves. Whilst the library is nice the book selection is awful !
Food. Whilst yes the food is generally ok it’s a cattle market in Kings Court and the food is absolutely 100% not as stated so some examples…. 1. Sweet and Sour chicken is just chicken in tomato sauce ! No sweet sticky sauce lol….2. Coronation chicken is grey brown chicken in a grey brown tasteless sauce not the yellow mild curry you would expect . 3. The cheese selection is awful … who picks TWO blue cheeses out of four or five cheeses ? 4. Breakfast salmon and scrambled egg was wet runny scrambled egg with a few pieces of really tiny diced salmon ….. really ?!?!
2. Entertainment. Yeah it’s just ok nothing amazing . On one of our films on space. the projector lens was dirty causing a smudge across the screen ….. really unprofessional(edit: the two British comedy shows have been excellent really good although I’m not sure other nationals get all the jokes…. “ I’m playing all the right notes just not in the right order” most British adults could recite that backwards and know why but other nationals probably not )
3. Service. Twice we have rang for service from our room and twice absolutely no one has come !
4. The pools . The upper pool is reserved for adults in which case why are adults swimming endlessly lengths in the lower pool ? I’d like to see the lower pool and single hot tub reserved for adults with children … adults could use the upper pool and two hot tubs . In this way kids could play in the lower pool without getting in the way of “ snotty serious swimmers”
In summary , it could be so good but there’s no professional attention to detail! Who on earth is in charge of food ? Come on get a grip ! Captain get some people skills for goodness sake and generally get these problems sorted out ! People are not all millionaires people work hard and save to come on your ship they pay a lot to do so and it’s just not good enough !
UK - USA scheduled service...
We used the QM 2 as a means to get from the USA to the UK. The cost was about the same as economy air fare and far cheaper than business class, plus you get high end room and board for a week! NYC to Southampton is a scheduled liner service so you're not getting the full cruise experience like you would with Princess or Celebrity etc., but it's very close. The QM 2 is built as an ocean liner rather than a cruise ship. There is a difference! The food and accommodation were 5 star, the entertainment was first class, the staff were wonderful and I only wish I had the time to use the Cunard QM 2 service every time I needed to travel between the US and the UK!
We have recently returned from a trans…
We have recently returned from a trans - atlantic crossing from New York to Southampton. Everything about the Queen Mary was amazing, but please do not stay in the Sheraton Hotel in Times Square, which was an option given to us. This Hotel is not up to 'Cunard's standards and should not be offered to their passengers.
Our voyage aboard the Queen Mary 2 was…
Our voyage aboard the Queen Mary 2 was a truly memorable experience. From the moment we stepped on board, the ship had the elegance, tradition, and sense of occasion that makes Cunard so special.
The service throughout the voyage was excellent. The crew were professional, warm, and attentive without ever being intrusive. We especially appreciated the calm, refined atmosphere on board, which made the crossing feel like a proper journey rather than simply transportation.
The Queen Mary 2 remains a remarkable ship. She has a classic ocean-liner feel, with beautiful public spaces, comfortable lounges, and plenty of places to relax and enjoy the sea. The dining, entertainment, and daily activities were all well organized, and we always felt there was something worthwhile to enjoy.
What stood out most was the overall sense of grace and tradition. Cunard does a wonderful job preserving the romance of ocean travel while still providing comfort and excellent hospitality. Our voyage felt special from start to finish, and we left with very fond memories.
We would gladly sail with Cunard again and would highly recommend the Queen Mary 2 to anyone who appreciates classic travel, excellent service, and the unique experience of crossing the Atlantic by ocean liner.
Queen Anne round Britain trip
Cold food on cold plates often undercooked. Food ran out and was told to come back in 15 minutes when it would be cooked. No choice fior British food except roast dinner, unless you want pizza, Chinese food or burgers. Chips were inedible and fish was non existent in very greasy fish and chips. Staff didn’t care when you complained. We have done lots of cruises but Queen Anne was the worst experience we have ever had. You also had to pay for entertainment and alternative dining was unaffordable. We won’t be going back on this ship. Customer services ignored our email when we made our complaint through their site. This was deffo not 5 star and totally not worth the money paid. Entertainment staff were also rude and inconsiderate. On a positive note the ship was nice as was the round Britain trip.
Our Cunard cruise exceeded every…
Our Cunard cruise exceeded every expectation. From the exceptional service and elegant atmosphere to the outstanding food and unforgettable destinations, every detail was thoughtfully planned. The crew's warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel truly valued throughout the voyage. Thank you for creating memories we will treasure forever. We can't wait to sail with Cunard again!
Fantastic ship
Fantastic ship, crew were lovely. Couldn’t ask for anything more.
CRUISING
Recently cruised on cunard's Queen Mary 2. Wonderful service all over the ship. The food was excellent. Lots of choice of bars and restaurants. The ships cabins look well used now, but I understand it will possibly be in for a refit at the end of 2026. Overall Cunard gives a wonderful experience for all ages.
Queen Mary 2 lived up to all the hype
Queen Mary 2 lived up to all the hype. Service was very good food in the Brittania Club restaurant was brilliant with impeccable service. Choice of activities extensive.
Only let down was the ‘my voyage’ app that only displayed your daily spend, the calendar did not transfer from the My Cunard site so anything booked before or on the cruise did not carry forward to the app. You the had to go to each area to check your bookings.
two night experiance along the Jurassic…
two night experiance along the Jurassic coast. Taster of the ship was what we were looking for. Overall was amazing, food was great, entertainment was really good on both nights, plenty to do on board even just walking around and looking at the decor and art works.
For this cruise itself, the ship goes down to Start Point near Dartmouth for 0700ish, then starts back up to the Isle of Wight by sunset. You are 6 miles out, you don't get UK mobile at that distance. You can see the coast but not the details, take binoculars or similar.
The airbridge broke and we took 90minutes plus to board.
The queue to board was over 2 hours…
The queue to board was over 2 hours long. We queued outdoors in a heatwave. Water was provided after the first two hours but no other relief was provided.
Our 5th time with Cunard
Our 5th time with Cunard, beautiful ships, we were on Queen Mary 2 this time. Beautiful ship! All staff excellent, cleaners, stewards, waiting staff.
Cunards world class service
Such a great ship staff so welcoming and could recall our names and when they saw us last. (Over a year later).

As always Cunard delivered wonderful service and food. Enjoyed a 2 night “taster” cruise to Jurassic coast. Brilliant from booking embarking and cruising. Easiest disembarkation. Can’t wait for the next time.
