Really bad. DHL redirected my parcels to a packstation despite I signed a no packstation request years ago. The customer service takes hours to respond. They can easily drain your phone credit out since you have to wait endlessly for someone to pick a call. I´ve been writing this while waiting for over half an hour for someone to pick a call. Horrible.

Pretty awful customer service and delivery service. The first lady I spoke to didn't speak any English, and when I tried in German I was hung up on. Furthermore, my letter was never delivered, and nobody rang the doorbell. I work from home. The letter was returned and it's still being returned after almost one and a half week even though it's within Germany.

I am disappointed with the handling of this delivery. My address was correct, yet the package was returned because it was stated that I could not be found at the address. I do not understand why no successful delivery attempt was made. Please investigate this matter and provide an explanation.

A parcel for Belgium is managed through the German DHL portal, which only offers German Packstations. No Belgian pickup point, no useful redirect option, no integrated handover to bpost.
For an international logistics company, this is embarrassingly fragmented.
DHL is the most horrible service…incompetent and unreliable every time.
DHL is the most horrible service company on the planet.
Every time they lose the pakage, then the tracker never works, then they indicate "Dispatched" for Amazon shipments, but leave the package a week in some corner of a warehouse, and actually nothing is been dispatched. Then they move the parcel eventually after a week, when they have finished their siesta of sleeping at work, then the package get damaged at the next station on the way, as a result they need to repack the package at one location in Grmany, before they move it to the Lahr Logistic centre in Germany...which is equal to the "Nirvana" of the logistics of DHL...everything goes in, but nothing ever comes out again.
The result is then, the package which had to be repacked is now entirely gone forever.
Waiting now 14 days and still they don´t know what they done with my parcel!! It has disappeared in their logistics dschungel in Lahr.
They are the most incompetent, most unreliable, most lazy bastards in the world of logistics, and should closed down for good.
There ia never been any delivery with them without problems in 4 years.
A nightmare and when writing a complaint, they are handling a complaint in Spain, but are not able to interconnect with Germany, and simply do nothing, as long as the package has not arrived on spanish territory, rather than realising from the complaint report it was stuck in Lahr /Germany and does not move. They got the Amazon shipment number, the DHL tracking number , the adresse and name of the destination, and the date and DHL location for Lahr, the seller name, location where it went lost, but brain power is not a strength of DHL. It is much easier to fall asleep again, and do nothing and respond with inaction and their disgusting way of ignorance to problems to make sure, that customers never get their package, and have no intention of delivering it.
They are a package delivery prevention Service.
Best thing is to avoid them like the pest.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A PACKAGE. My friend sent a small package with my charger and makeup in it from the Netherlands to Germany on 29th May. He paid extra for notifications. From 5th June to 10th June there were no updates. On the 11th June they attempted delivery but I wasn’t notified before and I was not home. They did not call or try my neighbours, which other companies do. They just left with my package AND SENT IT BACK THE SAME DAY. So it took them 2 weeks to bring it here and sort it and they do not even attempt a second time?? Then they give me this AI chatbot to talk to which tells me the sender has not entrusted them with the package yet… And when it asks me for a review of its performance it gives me a broken link… DHL is so incompetent that it even rubs off on their robots. They should invest the money they pay for AI into actually doing their job. Awful. I will try my best to avoid them.

The service is terrible. They are very lazy and don’t like to work. If no one is there on the house to receive it or they don’t try to get to the building. I have a packages that was delayed for how many days.

I have been waiting for a package from Munich for the last 4 weeks! First time, returned because the driver could not find my name on the door bell. A lie because it is right there. I even have fotos to prove it. My brother sent the package again( which btw contained my engagement party dress(which was last weekend and I had to buy a new dress in this economy!) I called customer service, they said that the street name was where my name was supposed to be so they will send it back again! How then do they not find my name on the door bell if they cannot locate the street. Needless to say, I have not received my package and my brother has had to pay twice for shipment. Mark you in between this time, I have received several packages from DPD and Hermes!

I sent an international parcel to Germany on 24 March 2026 through this post office. The parcel has still not been delivered, and despite submitting complaints, I have not received a satisfactory response. I hope the issue will be investigated and resolved as soon as possible.

Not the first time they've failed. This time they received two packages of similar size and weight at the same time, one arrived and was delivered today, the other is still in Germany. So good about shopping within the EU. Next time we will order from China directly
I Discard Any Vendor That Uses DHL.DE
The worst courier company I have encountered when it comes to the speed of delivery, yet it is absolutely the BEST courier company that can mess up, lose and have your shipment stuck for weeks.
My current (not recent but current) experience with them is that my shipment is stuck in their mail sorting center since 26 May in Germany with zero update, no customer service assistance and even their chatbot is extremely unuseful.
I had several awful experiences with them before, so I never used them on purpose myself and I even refrain from ordering from any vendor that partners with them, yet every time it comes as a surprise when I make an order on a new unfamiliar online shop, once shipped and I realise that it's shipped with them at that moment I know that a simple shipping and delivery process will turn into a disaster as usual.
They are just awful with no ability to improve.

One of the worst delivery experiences I’ve ever had.
DHL manages to make a simple task complicated: delivering a parcel and keeping the customer informed. The tracking is often unclear, updates are late, and the real-time tracking service seems to appear and disappear without any rhyme or reason.
The most frustrating thing is that the customer is forced to stay stuck at home for hours without really knowing when the courier will arrive. If you need to work, play sport, go to an appointment or simply get on with your day, good luck.
Even more absurd is that DHL offers the option to pay by card for certain services, but when you try to use it, the system often doesn’t work properly. Offering a payment method that then causes problems is simply frustrating and gives the impression of a poorly managed service.
Another baffling aspect is the management of collection points. Even when there is a DHL station very close to home, all too often the parcel is sent to a more distant location, forcing the customer to waste time collecting it. It would make sense to use the nearest collection point, but clearly logic isn’t always part of the process.
Then there is the issue of barcodes and unnecessarily complicated collection procedures. Between codes, unclear notifications and often confusing instructions, collecting a parcel becomes more difficult than it needs to be.
In 2026, it is also hard to understand why an app used by millions of people across Europe continues to be so limited in terms of language support. In many cases, the app and various features are available mainly in German, without adequate multilingual support. For an international company, this is simply unacceptable.
Flexibility is also virtually non-existent. All too often, it’s unclear whether a parcel will be left with a neighbour, at a collection point, or whether you’ll have to chase it around town the next day.
In 2026, I would expect a modern, reliable and transparent logistics service. Instead, all too often DHL gives the impression of being a giant bureaucratic machine that has forgotten what it means to provide a good customer experience.
Very disappointing. If I always had the option to choose another courier, I would do so without hesitation.
