Left us stranded at JFK airport. Beware.

Booked a transfer with this company through Expedia to get us from JFK NEW YORK to our hotel Hilton New York Fashion District. NEVER AGAIN! Got some strange messages from the driver before our flight left about our pick up time. Said he was going to pick us up at 19.30 but I queried that as that was when our flight was due in. Obviously there would be security and baggage pick up. After an 8 hour flight and 1.5 hours stood waiting to get through passport control, we got our bags and headed out feeling bewildered into the freezing cold. We got to the pick up point at 21.10…it was out of our control and we were abandoned and let down severely by this company. Phoned their helpline but were told it was at the drivers discretion and they couldn’t get hold of him anymore and weren’t able to help but to contact Expedia. Not easy when it’s 1.10am in the uk. Left us with no option to pay for a yellow cab at $85. Ruined the start of our break to NYC. Complained to Expedia and they contacted Elife who refused any refund. How can they con people like this and leave them stranded? Never again.
UPDATED Read their reply below and pretty disgusted tbh. One of the busiest airports in the world jfk security is never quick as they should know through experience and to be starting the clock as soon as the plane lands on the tarmac is ridiculous! Who can embark a plain while its taxiing to get their transfer straight away? Were we expected to parachute whilst it landed. Are they serious? Would you not check with the airport the wait times for security? You pick up from a hotel and I get it we should be there but you pick up from jfk and start the wait time earlier than the plane is scheduled to arrive because that’s when the plane landed? Are you serious? Have you ever been through jfk airport? Clearly not. Unprofessional and no common sense. NEVER AGAIN. Be warned everybody! This company has no idea! Insulting. If I could give them a zero rating I would. We are well travelled and I’ve never known a company start your pick up time from the time the plane hits the tarmac. It’s clearly flawed and defies common sense and professionalism. I feel sorry for any elderly people who book this company, we moved as quickly as we could and still couldn’t achieve their unrealistic timings! Pathetic response. I wonder how often they use this ridiculous and unfair policy to cancel transfers from JFK. In the six times we’ve arrived at JFK it would have been IMPOSSIBLE to get this but they keep your money anyway? 🤔At no point did they tell us about the wait timings until they’d left us stranded. They still haven’t addressed the strange messages prior to departure. Disgusted.

Including the 30-minute buffer time and the 60-minute waiting period, the scheduled waiting window ended at 8:56 PM. Unfortunately, as you were unable to arrive within this timeframe and the driver had another scheduled assignment to attend to, he was unable to continue waiting.

We truly regret any frustration this may have caused .

Driver was fantastic regardless of the time.

Met us in the airport straight after customs. Even though we landed at 1am the driver handled evreything at took us straught to our hotel.Highly recommend.

Welcoming team all smoking at the time…

Welcoming team all smoking at the time I arrived to the meeting point. No one waiting near the meeting point. When I stayed for longer time waiting then they came with their cigarettes in hand to check my name and destination. Driver came late and driving very slow towards my destination even if there was no traffic.

I paid more for a 7 seater van but got a small car. I first reserved a small car but had to cancel it due to the reason that I had kept receiving notifications about not enough cargo space even though there were only three people in my family. Can you pay me back the difference between the small car and the big van?

Very happy with our pick up from the…

Very happy with our pick up from the airport. They had a sign with our name which we spotted right away. They took our bags and brought us right to our driver. It was less than 10 minutes from the time we picked up our luggage until we were in the car and on our way to our hotel. I would definitely recommend them.
