Maintenance contract is a scam

Everything about the maintenance contract is misleading and takes advantage. They are called to check something under the "maintenance" contract. Told it can not be fixed - too old. You can't cancel the contract as you have to pay out till the end of the year for things they can't "maintain. Why maintain new things with warranties? Oh, and contracts done by phone - Really?

Scammers

Scammers. Offered me a plumbing plan promotion that they claimed was transferable. When I went to transfer it to a new property, they said the account was transferable, not the plan, and so they wanted to start a new plan with a bunch of extra costs. Stay away from Enercare.

Daniel was amazing!

Daniel was amazing!! He explained everything to me in a very simplified manner. His customer service skills were amazing! So kind, polite and professional!! He also told me about the maintenance of the humidifier filter which no one told me about before so I was greatly appreciative!! I hope I get him on the next service/maintenance call.

If You Value Transparency, Avoid This Company

Terrible, inconsistent customer service once they have you locked into a contract. This company relies on unclear explanations, shifting terms, and unprofessional service. I was sold an HVAC system under the impression that the buyout would drop as I made payments. That was false. The buyout is based on equipment value, not what you’ve paid — meaning you’re renting the unit at an inflated rate. This was never explained honestly.

Once Enercare took over, the problems multiplied. Technicians denied services that were clearly included, and it took persistent follow‑up to get reimbursed. Their call centre is chaotic: some agents have extremely heavy accents and are difficult to understand, and you can hear multiple agents talking loudly in the background. I had to ask for basic words to be repeated several times.

Even paying the buyout was a headache — when they transfer you, the hold music plays over the payment instructions. After paying $11,000, I was hit with additional bills I was never told to expect.

The entire experience has been disorganized, misleading, and deeply unprofessional. I strongly advise avoiding this company.

Scam, Lies about Cancellation of Service

Worst Service. Absolute scam. I called to cancel my
"maintenance" subscription. "They did nothing during this time". Then all of the sudden I started getting bills months later. When I called AGAIN to cancel they said they had no record of it and that there is a FEE to cancel. NO SERVICE WAS PROVIDED IN THIS TIME. Horrible scam company. Avoid at all costs.

Very Good Service Adjustment

A big screw up with crew not showing up the previous day, acknowledged and appropriately dealt with. Excellent service from Gilbert the next day, installation of new tank implemented efficiently and effectively.

I've just had my air-conditioning maintenance done

I've just had my air-conditioning maintenance completed by Chris G. and again a positive experience he was personable, knowledgeable, answered all my questions and above all professional. Chris is a strong believer in safety above all. I was totally impressed.

Thanks Chris G for a job well done.

Enercare contracts- BEST AVOIDED

I have difficulty understanding how this company is allowed to operate in Ontario, They should be forced to ensure customers are allowed to cancel contracts anytime and without unjustified fees. Would not recommend entering into a contract with Enercare as they are extremely difficult to deal with.

A True and Dedicated Professional

On the morning of Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, I received a call from Enercare Tech by the name of Barry, advising he would be arriving within the next 10-15 minutes. Once he arrived, he directly went to my Thermostat to adjust it to fire up the furnace. He then proceeded to the basement furnace area to service my furnace unit. After completing the furnace maintenance, Barry came upstairs to advise that the furnance we extremely dirty on the interior an surrounding area in the furnace room. Barry took the time and effort to clean the area properly internally/externally, and he showed me the filthy furnace filter. As being the new homeowner of 7 months, I had requested a proper furnance maintenance as part of the Home Purchase
Agreement from the previous Homeowners. Obviously the furnace servicing was inadequate compared to the
servicing I received from Enercares' Technician Barry. Thank you, Barry, for your dedication and professionalism in what you do and how you service important home equipment. Your Customer Service is Outstanding!

I was trying to get a thankless water…

I was trying to get a thankless water heater and softener quote. The sales person came and with the quote it would have cost me over $40,000 in the ten year contract. He said they have a free AC and furnace check. A week later I was driving to work and got a call that one of their technicians is coming to my home. I had not booked this appointment. She came and told me my furnace had a Crack, shut off the gas and left an infraction. WOW.! It was unbelievable. She also stated she doesn't know how we are not dead. Unbelievable horrible customer service. I will never have them around my house.

NO Emergency Service off-hours

If you are having an Emergency and it is not Mon-Fri 9 to 5 then you are SOL. They do NOT do emergency calls as I can confirm when I asked a technician in person last Saturday. Most others do - NEVER sign a contract.

“They pushed me to replace the water…

“They pushed me to replace the water heater and assured me everything would stay the same. That turned out not to be true. A few months later, I started getting bills with an extra $20 charge. When I asked about it, they just said it was a miscommunication and apologized.”
