Dear Elif,
We are sorry to read that this has been your experience.
Because of patient confidentiality, we cannot discuss the details of your treatment publicly. However, we believe it is important to clarify a few general points.
Before surgery, your nasal deviation was significant, and we explained that while complete symmetry cannot be guaranteed, our goal was to achieve approximately a 90% improvement. The operation proceeded smoothly, and the postoperative result was in line with, and in fact better than, our expectations.
Throughout your recovery, you were able to attend follow-up appointments whenever you needed. During your in-person visits, we spent considerable time addressing all of your concerns, performed endoscopic examinations, explained the healing process in detail, and answered every question thoroughly. We also remained available by phone to provide further reassurance whenever needed.
As we explained during your follow-ups, swelling and tissue remodeling are normal parts of rhinoplasty recovery. Final results continue to evolve for approximately 12–18 months, and your review was posted only about five months after surgery, well before the final outcome can be properly assessed.
Regarding the discharge summary you mentioned, the requested medical documents and photographs were provided. There was only a short delay of 2–3 days because our team was temporarily away, for which we sincerely apologized.
During our most recent phone conversation, we also encouraged you to seek independent opinions from other experienced rhinoplasty surgeons if it would help reassure you, as we had no concerns about a major complication. You told us that this conversation was reassuring and thanked us for taking the time to discuss your concerns.
We respect every patient’s right to share their experience, but we do not believe that the term “medical gaslighting” accurately reflects the care, transparency, accessibility, and follow-up that were provided throughout your treatment.
We genuinely wish you the very best with the remainder of your healing process, and our door remains open should you need any further follow-up or support.
