On being ignored!

I ordered 3 tops and they arrived fairly promptly. One fitted and was great, one still had the security tag attached and the third was a size 14, despite having ordered a 10 and on the order form a 10 had been recorded. I therefore had to return 2 garments at a cost to me and through no fault of mine. The security tag garment was returned untagged. The third garment is apparently "temporarily out of stock" this is about 2 months ago. Despite emails, using the "contact us" form on web site and writing "snail mail" asking for a refund they ignore me!!! Disgraceful service.

This company will NOT give you your money back. They sent me a pair of shoes that was a size smaller and I returned the order in January requesting refund.
I emailed them twice - no response.

Absolutely shocking!

Absolutely shocking! I paid for next day delivery and my package didn't show up until 2 days after. When I tried to get in touch with them to claim my money back that I'd paid for NEXT DAY DELIVERY with, I found it was basically IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with them. Tried to email, no answer. Tried to call, no answer. What else can I do?!

Company keeps your money when you attempt a return

I had previously bought successfully from this company. My last purchase - sandals- though has been a bad experience. The sandals size was fairly obviously wrongly labelled by the manufacturer and could never successfully sell as a size 8. Firstly there are obstacles to making returns - some circuitous search of the website is needed to discover the process. The customer has to print a label and bear all costs. Second an email promised an exchange. Third an email reported out of stock then nothing. Web based complaints and even snail mail meet with no response. This is real contempt for the customer. My money has been stolen so my next move is to claim on my credit card. Buyer beware - avoid this arrogant company.

You can't return things!!

Bought a ski hat for my son whilst we were visiting (we live 1 hr away) and a few other bits and pieces for skiing. Took a chance on the ski hat as although I know his head size son wasn't with us. He didn't like the hat and it didn't fit 100% so this weekend we made a trip especially to return .. only to be told I couldn't get my money back!!! This is because they don't refund your money???? This is because their policy is to only exchange or give you a credit note. I was dumbfounded TBH. Have never heard of this before and thought the law was that you would return for full refund within 28 days. I said I thought that wasn't right and how can that be when I wasn't made aware (would never have taken a chance on the hat if I had been aware) and the rude guy at the till simply turned over my receipt and tapped it and said "our returns policy is here" .. there is a massive flaw in their process as how can you make an informed decision if you are only made aware AFTER you have bought something? We all take chances on buying stuff sometimes knowing we can return if not right ... but not in this shop. Out of pocket the money, the fuel to drive back to return and the time wasted. Will NEVER buy anything from there again and advise all my friends to avoid.

Avoid like the plague

Why oh why didn't I check out Trust Pilot before I ordered from these cowboys?
I ordered three items on 26 December - apparently they were given to the courier (Hermes - another hopeless company) - and they have languished in the national hub for the past 15 days. I've emailed the company, submitted an online form, and also called Hermes (who won't do anything if the seller isn't asking for it) and they haven't responded. I've opened a Paypal claim, and they haven't responded. I've now had to open a dispute and they get ten days to respond - by which time it will be too late for me to replace the items I needed for early February.
Utterly hopeless. The prices look good but it's a false economy if they take your money and you don't get anything in return.

Someone has stolen the York shop

Someone has stolen the York shop. Traveled 22 miles to look at a campri ski jacket, eventually found unit 5 Blake St as stated on website store finder. No name above shop, no stock, store closed and unit to let, says everything about this company.

Do not buy on line from Field and Trek

Do not buy on line from Field and Trek, I bought some Gor Tex ladies walking shoes that when I went walking in the rain found they were not waterproof at all, Unfortunately I accidentely threw away the delivery note so wanted to know what to do to return them as faulty goods, when I tried to contact customer services there was no number to contact so I wrote to them using the website for returns 4 times telling them that I wanted to return the shoes as they were faulty, that I have no delivery note and asking what I needed to do..... I have never had a reply, disgusting customer service ! dont bother with this company I would rather pay the extra money in other shops than get dumped with faulty goods.

The first order came through within 3 …

The first order came through within 3 days. Unfortunately the boots were too small. I returned them £6.70 registered post. Got an e-mail 3 days later that a replacement was on it's way. Hermes has had the product since 14/10/17 I have no way of tracking it as it's either lost in the depot or vanished. 3 to 5 day delivery is a load of bull. Hermes refuse to deal with the problem and after three consecutive e-mails on different days, Field and Trek cannot be bothered to acknowledge anything of my concern. Appalling after-sales service I have never seen the like before.

Avoid at all costs - go to GoOutdoors!

Bought a pair of Salomon boots from them about 6 months ago, and wore them about 5 times (in the dry) before heading off for a long-distance walk in them last month. Discovered on the second day that in spite of being Goretex, they leak, purely from dew on the grass.
According to the F&T website, they are supposed to be 'extremely waterproof', so would appear to be faulty, but now tried 3 times to get a response from F&T, to no avail - not even a reply. Salomon no help either to be fair, in spite of offering 2 year guarantee, saying F&T need to deal with it since I purchased from them.
So, I've learnt my lesson I suppose - the prices are attractive, but after-sales service is non-existant, so only buy from them if you know nothing can possibly go wrong! Or in fact, just avoid them altogether, and go to GoOutdoors!

Poor customer service!!

Item ordered before 7pm deadline for next day delivery. It wasn't dispatched until day later and arrived 2 days late so no longer required as needed item urgently. I had emailed to cancel order before it was dispatched as knew it wouldn't arrive it time. It was still dispatched. Advised them not to deliver but they delivered to a neighbour while I was away. Tried to contact to get them to collect it, no response. Sent 5-6 emails without receiving a single response so I will try and take it up with PayPal. Items are cheap and I guess if all goes well they are a great company to buy from but if anything goes wrong they do not deal with it. Avoid!!

Wouldn't bother again

Wouldn't bother again. Affiliate of the ghastly Sports Direct, and lord does it show. Ordered a jacket on a Saturday eve, and then almost instantly, as I'd ordered the wrong size, tried to cancel the order. And tried. And tried. No response to repeated emails, only automated updates on the order. So it came, and so I had to send it back at my expense. In this day and age, such hopeless customer service just isn't acceptable. Avoid.

I've always found field and trek excellent. They have really great prices and the website is very easy to use. I've been buying a variety of outdoor clothing and walking boots from them over the past 4 years and will continue to do so.

Absolutely terrible service. After purchasing a rain jacket online, Field and Trek sent regular emails, featuring sales, special offers and the like. When I eventually attempted to buy something, the website did not allow it. I used the 'contact us' option but with no success. Now I know that the firm is owned by Sports Direct, this all makes sense. I shall give them a wide berth in the future and suggest everyone else does the same.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I don't even know where to begin. I bought a pair of walking shoes in the Guildford shop. They were a bit tight but the saleslady suggested I order another pair online in a half size bigger and then return the ones I didn't want. Great idea! Ordered the second pair and went back to the shop to return the first pair while picking up the online order.

I had tried on several occasions to contact the shop to see if my online order had arrived. The number posted online rang and rang and no one ever answered. So I finally went in after ten days. No one had bothered to call me to tell me my shoes had arrived. The manager was at the till - he asked if I'd been telephoned to say my order had arrived. I told him I hadn't but as it had been about ten days, I was thinking they'd be there. He said he'd ask one of his staff to check but I really should have waited until I was contacted. Huh? He was quite rude and condescending. When I said I'd tried to contact them by telephone unsuccessfully to check on the order, he told me that I must have dialled incorrectly as the number is clearly on their website. I told him it was the wrong number but he kept pushing the point with me and became quite defensive/argumentative. He even said he'd directed many customers to the number on the website and none of them had had problems. He said he didn't understand why I couldn't find it. I was beginning to lose my patience with his attitude, so I Googled and sure enough I was right. He then said that head office must have changed it without him knowing about it. No apologies from him mind you. Non-existent customer service skills - and he's the manager? I've not seen anything like it before!

When I asked him to please refund my second pair of shoes, he told me that it was against store policy and that they would only issue me a credit voucher. He seemed almost happy to tell me this! No one had told me when I first made the purchase that they don't do refunds and it isn't noted on the till receipt. The manager then said it was posted clearly on their desk. When I asked where, he moved aside some items on the counter and the sign was underneath. Huh? So, their sign is up yes, but it's hidden by merchandise?!!

Anyway, it serves me right for shopping at a store owned by SPORTS DIRECT. Their appalling record when it comes to treating their staff is reflected in their treatment of their customers. I didn't realize Field and Trek was part of SPORTS DIRECT. Now that I do, I will NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. I would advise anyone who passes this store on the high street to keep on walking. It's an absolute nightmare. I now have a voucher that I am loathe to spend in this shop but I suppose since they already have my money, I should bite the bullet and use it.

IN SHORT, AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS.

Awful service

Purchased two pairs of trainers from the site. Apparently courier Hermes had collected but they have no record, and helpfully told me to take it up with F&T customer services. I have now tried to reach F&T for the past 6 days with no response. Resorting to PayPal dispute to see if I can get my money back. Immediately charged, no product to show for it and zero customer service. Avoid

0% customer service

Paid for some walking boots to be next day delivery, They used Hermes couriers who stated that they had delivered the package, (me thinks dodgy Driver) I then started the process of using the field and trek internal system of complaining, no response or acknowledgement whatsoever, I then took the dispute through PayPal who at least acknowledged that I had sent messages, I now have to escalate through PayPal because I have had no communication from Field and Trek at all, are they still in Business?
