Misleading fees and poor customer experience

I had a very disappointing experience with Fitness UP.

Initially, they attracted me with special offers, which seemed like a good deal. However, when I went to join, they charged a joining fee and only after taking my money informed me about a €60 cancellation fee. This was never clearly explained beforehand.

When I said I did not want to continue and asked for a refund, they refused, saying I was already registered—even though I had not signed the contract yet. I felt pressured and misled.

I decided to continue using the gym, but after 3 months I was not satisfied with the experience and wanted to cancel. At that point, they told me I had to pay:

€60 cancellation fee
Additional 17 days of fees (which was never mentioned earlier)

This lack of transparency is very frustrating. Important terms should be clearly explained before taking any payment.

Overall, this experience felt misleading and unfair. I strongly advise others to be very careful and fully understand all conditions before joining.

This gym company based near Parques…

This gym company based near Parques metro stop is unprofessional and has scam business models that take your money even when your not in the country and can't use the gym. Don't sign any of their slippery contracts. Be warned!

Very bad experience tonight with the…

Very bad experience tonight with the Fitness Up of Portela with one of the employees who made me leave in front of everybody because I didn't wear totally sportswear (more tracksuit bottoms), standing his ground like I was a threat to the place. At least I could have finished this training and wear full-sportwear next time, and at the very least they could have reimbursed my training.

Staff manners are shocking

Staff manners are shocking, after multiple run ins with the staff I finally decided to cancel. Paying customers should not be treated like that, 10 years in gyms and never once experienced treatment like this

Worst gym experience ever

If there was a lower option, I would’ve chosen it. It’s a scam company, they tell you that you have 2 months, (first and last), free if you sign up for 12 months, but they don’t give you the last one unless you extend the contract. Their customer service gives incorrect information, and their payment system is designed to milk delay fees out of the customer.

They require things that isn’t in the contract.

Stay away from Fitness up, they damage your health more than they help.

Worst gym ever

Worst gym ever! Rude staff! Equipment broken never gets fixed. Weeks go by until equipment gets fixed. Machines don’t get cleaned. Very unhygienic gym. Canceling my membership with this rubbish gym!
