Great service overall. The process was straightforward and moved smoothly. Good communication; I received detailed information about the surveys offered and how the report would be completed. The administrative staff were very helpful during the payment process. I was fully informed of the scheduled date for the survey. The surveyor, Rebecca, informed me once the survey was completed and the full report was sent to me within 2-3 days. I would recommend this firm.

Avoid at all costs
One of the poorest valuation experiences I have encountered.
I believe Gateway Surveyors significantly undervalued my property by relying on the lowest comparable sales whilst ignoring stronger market evidence showing properties selling for approximately double which was in line with the value of my property.
The inspection also appeared superficial. Only the kitchen and bathroom were photographed, with no meaningful photographs of the rest of the property or the improvements that had been completed.
When concerns were raised, Gateway simply stood by the valuation without providing convincing answers to the specific issues identified.
A valuation can determine whether a mortgage application succeeds or fails, so it is essential that it is thorough, evidence-based and capable of withstanding scrutiny. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

As this is a Lender instruction, you will need to go back to your Lender in the first instance to raise this issue with them as a post valuation query (PVQ).
