Good but not great
I’m a huge fan of ghd’s, as a hairdresser over the years I’ve used many ghd straighteners and many other brands. while this product does do the job I really don’t think it’s worth the money. Although it’s at a set heat there is a burning smell occasionally with and without product on the hair. Every now and then it struggles to turn on and off. And silly as it may sound it makes an odd noise when turning on and off. Yes the product works and does the job just not as good as I expected for the money and would much rather use a different brand for a cheaper price and better job in future.

the NEW & IMPROVED GHD…
The purchased the NEW & IMPROVED GHD GLIDE+ CERAMIC SMOOTHING HOT BRUSH. Unfortunately it was not clear that the hair brush was only suitable for thick hair. I have fine hair but a lot of it and it was very hard to navigate through my hair and the result was very poor 😞 I ended up gifting it my sister who has thick hair and also hair extensions and the result on her hair was very impressive - it glistened and straightened her hair. It was quick and easy for her to use where else for me it took ages to get a result, which was not even close to what my sister achieved. I still need a new iron so for now I’m still using my old one.

Quality has gone downhill, price has skyrocketed.
Bought new ghd’s after my old pair lasting me years. I also own multiple ghd products. I bought the same pair of ghd straighteners, £30 more expensive than a few years ago and the quality is severely lacking. Feels plasticky, what you would buy a kid for their first hair straighteners. When you release the tongs after straightening they snap back and ping and they plastic casing bounces off eachother.
It feels very greedy to charge that much more for something that is marketed the same throughout the years, however the product itself is not what it used to be and feels about £70 cheaper. Incredibly disappointing and feel somewhat robbed.

Ordered GHD unplugged on Sat 1st August…
Ordered GHD unplugged on Sat 1st August for going on holidays. Got an email on Monday 3rd saying they had been dispatched. On checking the tracking on Wednesday 5th it stated that they had not yet been collected so I contacted GHD to enquire but also to advise that I would now be away on holidays (early morning 7th August). I have not got a reply to this email from GHD and EVRI tracking now stating 'processing at our parcel hub'. Very disappointing after being a loyal customer for over 25 years.

A masterclass in incompetence
A truly extraordinary display of incompetence.
I returned the goods via tracked Royal Mail delivery and had perfectly clear proof that the parcel had been delivered. One might imagine that would be sufficient for a competent customer service department. Apparently not.
Instead, I was dispatched on a thoroughly absurd wild-goose chase and informed that I was somehow expected to produce GPS coordinates for the delivery myself. Quite why a customer should be required to conduct a forensic investigation into Royal Mail’s tracking data on GHD’s behalf remains a mystery.
Attempting to communicate with their customer service team was an experience in itself. The level of comprehension and basic problem-solving was so poor that one was left wondering whether anyone had actually read what had been sent to them before replying.
Then came the most amusing part. The moment my bank became involved, the goods they had previously seemed quite incapable of locating were suddenly “found”. How wonderfully fortuitous.
I have not purchased from GHD since, nor would I be inclined to do so again. More concerningly, numerous other reviews appear to describe strikingly similar experiences, which rather undermines any suggestion that this was merely an unfortunate one-off.
A masterclass in how to turn a perfectly straightforward return into an unnecessarily tedious ordeal. One would expect rather better.
