Smooth process, could have communicated better
As a first time buyer Gilson Gray was recommended to me from a mortgage advisor. They were professional throughout, communicative in terms of response speed, and were upfront about the costs (and stayed within that). They settled my property purchase smoothly and at pace which I'm grateful for.
My only constructive feedback would be that sometimes, as a first time buyer, I didn't know what questions I should be asking or what the process itself looks like, so I would have been grateful for a bit more flagging from Gilson Gray on what potential issues I should keep an eye in relation to my property. Having said that, once I knew what to ask, my solicitor was quick to respond and set the answers out clearly. Unfortunately, I can't say the same of the onboarding team where I had to chase queries and remind them of prior questions that had been missed, making the initial experience less than ideal.
