Gilson Gray LLP . Used Gilson Gray LLP for buying a home, they were a good efficient legal team and got back to me quickly with any enquiries. A special thanks to Kirsty McNally paralegal who did much of the hard work.

My partner and I (both early 20s) enlisted the services of Gilson &Gray to purchase our first property.
The solicitor assigned to us was Alan Craig. From day dot, we found him extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and quick to answer any and all of our questions.
The property in question proved to be very difficult to buy for a multitude of reasons, but Alan was there throughout, explaining and updating us as things progressed.
As a young couple, we don't have a lot of money, and we found the rate charged to be very reasonable.
Cannot recommend Gilson&Gray (Especially Alan Craig himself) enough.

I highly recommend Gilson Gray Solicitors for anyone buying or selling a property. Alice Baker was exceptionally clear, efficient and proactive. My calls and emails were answered promptly and Alice navigated through complications with ease and professionalism keeping me fully updated throughout the process. I would not hesitate in using Gilson Gray in the future.

Do not use G&G. I was initially quoted a reasonable sum for conveyancing, with them knowing that the purchase was leasehold and required building safety checks. This price raised slightly halfway through conveyancing, then on the day of exchange it was raised by an additional £1,000, then DOUBLED. Knowing the sale would fall through if I failed to pay, I was forced to. This was a no-chain purchase that took over six months to complete, despite instructions asking them to get matters in order weeks in advance.
There is also administrative incompetence seemingly throughout the organisation. Wet ink documents weren't checked and had to be resigned right before exchange, inquiries from myself that relied on 3rd parties were asked one week before exchange (risky, as 3rd parties have no requirement to respond in time), despite being asked months in advance, and despite being a first time buyer, no process or documents were actually explained in any meaningful way. Additionally, questions and emails regarding progress and next steps were never clearly answered, or sometimes they were ignored for days. Certainly not worth the sum they demanded on completion. Avoid at all costs.
Not sure what I was expecting knowing that their conveyancing services are likely on par with their complaints procedure, but following a 7 week wait, G&G offered a £75 refund even after acknowledging their failings and sub-par service.
Just wanted to say I could not recommend this solicitor enough, we have just had a completion completed for a house purchase. They worked with me every step of the way to aim for my completion date. Every document was discussed every step was I felt updated and reassured every week. Thank you to Danni Sullivan and team for the amazing service and hard work put in to complete my purchase.

As a first-time buyer, I had a great experience with Gilson Gray.
A special thank you to Callum's team for the professionalism, patience, and excellent communication throughout the entire process. Buying my first home was completely new to me, but they took the time to answer all my questions clearly and kept me updated at every stage, which made everything much less stressful.
The purchase was completed smoothly, and I really appreciated the support from the whole team. I would happily recommend Gilson Gray to anyone looking for a reliable and professional solicitor.

I wanted to give Gilson Gray time to respond to my complaint and resolve the issues before leaving a review, but several weeks later nothing has been resolved and communication remains as poor as it was during our purchase.
Our experience during our house purchase was extremely disappointing. Communication was poor throughout the transaction, and on completion day we were unable to get hold of our solicitor despite making seven separate attempts to contact them. Important documentation was delayed, causing a knock-on effect across the chain and resulting in us not receiving the keys to our property until after 5pm, despite being advised completion could have taken place much earlier.
We also encountered an issue regarding bedroom furniture that had been discussed and requested prior to completion but was not present in the property. This caused significant stress, as we had already dismantled and disposed of our existing furniture based on the expectation that the agreed items would remain.
Following a formal complaint, it took around two weeks and intervention from our mortgage adviser before we received a phone call. We were told that our calls had not been returned because they did not know who was calling, despite us leaving a voicemail with reception clearly identifying ourselves and requesting a callback.
During that conversation, we were assured that someone would contact us regarding the missing furniture. More than three weeks later, despite making multiple additional calls chasing an update, we are still waiting for the promised callback.
Buying a home should be an exciting milestone, but the lack of communication, delays, and poor handling of our complaint turned it into an unnecessarily stressful experience. We have been patient and given Gilson Gray every opportunity to address our concerns, but unfortunately nothing has been resolved. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Gilson Gray.
CHARLOTTE AND HER TEAM WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND IN MY RECENT PURCHASE OF A FLAT AND THE SELLING OF HOUSE THEY ARE STILL HELPING ME WITH A PROBLEM THAT HAVE SINCE MOVING IN .

Gilson gray stepped in at the last minute after a slight issue with our mortgage provider. Alan was on hand to help with any issues and the process was as smooth as could be. Thanks again!
