Had to call out Green Flag due to heavy diesel leak. Customer service was brilliant and said somebody would be out shortly. Within the hour a local firm was sent out. Took one look and said we would have to be recovered back home (170 miles)as he couldn’t fix it. Rather than doing this Green Flag sent out one of their own technicians who was brilliant and very knowledgeable. He immediately diagnosed a leaking water sensor on the fuel filter which had cracked probably because it had been over tightened during main dealer service. He ordered the part from main agents which obviously I paid for and picked it up the following morning. 30 mins later we were on the road again trouble free. Green Flag technicians are absolutely brilliant but perhaps not the local garages which are sent out. Not Green Flag’s fault as most recovery insurers use a network of local garages. I wish I had taken the name of the Green Flag technician as he deserved to be congratulated! Green Flag would be my choice every time.

After 39yrs with a rival Platinum level loyal paying guest Membership - last month - they showed me “no mercy” and with only 5wks to go, charged a disgraceful fee at my most needy (financially, vulnerable and emotionally) time. I made up my mind there and then to leave, when l almost pleaded with them to be a smidge empathic to my first in 3yrs need of their assistance so that l could go urgently visit my 91yr Dad who had been taken ill. I
hope l never find myself in “that” situation again, but if l do …and l get the same upsetting, unsympathetic responses with no explanation behind his way of thinking or understanding…then l shall continue to hopefully look for any 3hr Recovery Co.
Suffice to say, that chaotic experience has caused more than a tad of anxiety, resentment and most of all dissatisfaction. Soooooo l hope and pray, IF anything happens similar - l won’t get treated like l was. It was all very upsetting but big enough to get me to leave and join here! Hopefully l won’t ever get a repeat experience, from ANYONE !!!

I needed to change one of the cars on my policy, and I mentioned that I towed a caravan. The person I spoke to at Green Flag was very helpful, and spent considerable time setting up extra cover for when I tow my caravan. Everything was thoroughly explained, with options for me to decide.

If only all firms were like this...
Having to arrange new breakdown cover in a hurry,but with concerns regarding caravan rescue and other issues I was utterly frustrated trying to get information from the other well-known companies. The contact with Green Flag was easily obtained - they rang me back once an operative was free - and we had immediate empathy.My questions were answered and details explained in a friendly but most efficient way and with no stress the deal was struck.
