Harman Kardon Hates You

You can literally spend THOUSANDS of dollars on an HK product, in my case it was TWO GRAND on an Enchant 1300 soundbar and matching wireless 10" sub.

While it works, sometimes, and the sound is reasonable, though nothing to write home about, the bottom line is that there is NO way once a given product has a firmware update available to actually update the product. I have seen reviews about many, MANY different products of theirs, not just mine stating the exact same thing. They have apps that you cannot download, and if on the off chance you can, they do not work, simple as that. Check out play store, search harman kardon, and look at the thousands of glowing 1 star reviews.

The directions literally say the firmware is available on their site, it is NOT, in fact, there are NO firmware updates for ANY product on their website, so forget about dropping it on to a FAT formatted USB drive as the instructions clearly tell you to do. Google Home, forget about that as well, it doesn't see your HK product, period, ever.

The product "experts" are in a call center in india, do not speak fluent English, have NO familiarity with ANY hk product, make it very clear they possess ZERO fks to give, and are condescending at best, or will just hang up when it is clear they don't know and don't choose to "assist" any longer because their metrics are more important to them. There is no US based number to call, you will NEVER speak to an American, much less a native English speaker, MUCH LESS an "expert" of ANY kind.

Harman, a once truly lauded brand is a shell of what it was. They don't care and it shows. Save your money. Go to another brand, hell, even SONY at this point is a better option, and may very well sound better. That's a bold statement. 2 grand out the window on a product that simply doesn't work.

Harman offers NO customer or product support, regardless of price paid. You have been warned.

They really ought to change their tagline to, "Harman, because FK you."

Definitely not bad

Definitely not bad. They are making clear equipment that gives great bass, trebles, good equalization and clear tone of sound. I like it. I like cars that have harman kardon sound system built in. they usually turn out to be the best ones that gives you the best atmosphere in a closed environment.

Awful technical help

I have a Citation One speaker that worked perfectly till my Internet network changed and the speaker would not connect.
Contacted the technical department for help.
Absolute waste of time.
Gave them all the information about the unit, model, serial No, problem what I tried to get the unit to reconnect.
Virtually every email from them ignored my responses to the previous email.
We're told numerous times the unit would not reset and wipe the information stored in it. Every response asked me to reset the unit and then look for the unit in the available WiFi on my phone.
Despite being told the unit was showing no Internet on the Internet light. This seemed to be the response every time.
I still have a unit thst will not work and no response now from their technicians

Charge 5 repair

My son's Charge 5 wasn't charging. Called HK and they swiftly arranged for the despatch, repair and return of his speaker in perfect working order.
Great customer service also.

Bad Harman kardon speakers issue and bad customer assistance

I bought a pair of hard-wired Harman kardon citation 100 mk2 speakers around mid July last year 2022 and being older person I struggled with setup and pairing and the instructions were very limited. I ultimately found the harman kardon website and help line and eventually got everything going but for a few days one or the other speaker would randomly drop out. Eventually they settled down and things worked okay on the occasions I listened to my Spotify at home but mostly I'm in my car or at work. Anyway I decided to get a new Samsung S22 phone and tried to set up the speakers to my new phone and it has been hell. I've spent hours on the phone with Harman kardon help line. First one speaker couldn't find my Bluetooth then overnight, weirdly, the other speaker started working so I had to ring the call centre again to try and get some understanding. The speakers are consecutively serial numbered with one ending in 39 and the other in 40. Despite more hours on the phone on the second day the other speaker cannot connect to Bluetooth Despite resetting and turning off and on. One suggestion was to try on another wifi which I did today at a friend's but same result. I rang a repair organisation who suggested it could be a firmware issue whatever that is. I tried putting them back on my old S9+ Samsung but same result. I couldn't find my receipt in the boxes and instructions only the original trouble shooting pages they emailed me back in mid July last year. I'm not sure if harman kardon automatically sends out firmware updates but there's a service port plug in the speaker but harman kardon advised me that it's not for customer use only the factory to load onto at the factory. In any event for speakers that cost $600 a year later the lack of knowledge support from harman kardon is very disappointing. They said there's nothing more they could do to help me. They just expect you to throw the speaker away and buy another one. I certainly wouldn't buy another harman kardon speaker. They used to have a good name. It's all about customer service and their people have very little ability to know what to do about something that should be an easy fix on near new rarely used speakers. They should have someone to look at it their end I can send it back in the original box. Looks like the Harman Kardon business won't be around much longer. Beware out there!!

Appalling customer service

Bought a Bluetooth speaker on their website which is clearly stating a delivery of 3-5 days. After 4 days I could see on their website that the order was still processing. Contacted their live chat to enquire about the status of my order to be told bull***ts by the agent stating that I reached technical support and they couldn't help me. Didn't offer any resolution. Appalling customer service

No email response on my order

No email response on my order. Was hung up on by customer service. I do not recommend doing business directly with them. Highly recommend going through a reputable store.

An expensive set of desktop speakers…

An expensive set of desktop speakers (soundsticks II) that worked for a year. The company has refused to repair them and only offered me 20% off a new system. But I don't want to buy another set that won't last more than a year. They look nice, and in fairness the sound was great, but given the short lifespan, really not worth the money.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One star is too much for their customer service. They are lazy pieces of $hit that refuse to help even if you beg them. I've been trying for months to get someone to solve my "simple" issue. I keep getting the same "standard" response with zero effort from their side. My last hope is that someone at HK sees this and decides that they actually care about their reputation and tries to help me, but I'm not holding my breath.

You'd think after you spend $2000 that they would actually make even a little effort to try and help their customers.

4 F*king months of begging.

WISH I COULD GIVE NO STARS

THIS IS SUCH A WATE OF MONEY. My frustration and anger is brimming.

Bought a Harman Kardon Allure Portable Speaker last year. Was able to turn it on and that’s as far as we could get after months or trying.

Buttons were unresponsive, the manual was far from helpful, there was no information online to help and the app is utterly poor in every aspect. This piece of technology is utter crap and a real waste of money.

Extremely disappointed and angry - it won’t even sell for parts.

BAD, This company is terrible

This company is terrible, Someone used my PayPal to buy something. I contacted both PayPal and this Herman whatever company and advised them this was a fraud. I caught this before it paid and shipped. This company shipped the item anyway. Very bad business practices. I would not do business with them.

Great service

I ordered a JBL soundbar and in-ear headset the 12'th of July. I didn't receive any confirmation about my order and I contacted them. They responded right away, I told them about my missing confirmation, and they got my info and a second later, an email popped in my inbox. They sent it at the 13'th and I was told that I would receive my order Friday the 15'th between 08 am and 5 pm, and around 09 pm i hadn't received anything. I contacted Harman again and the next morning they responded that they were very sorry about the delivery, and if i hadn't received my package at Monday the 18'th, I should contact them again.

I can only say, that I love JBL/Harman Kardon's products and I only have the best experiences with them.
Regarding the service experience from Harman this time around. It was one of the best services that i have ever received.

No Customer Support

We tried to obtain some support from HK after our equipment has issues after less than 1.5 years, but out of standard warranty. It is close to impossible to have a unit repaired - after-sales support is inexistent. HK equipment basically works for a long it works (in our case 1.5 years), then you need to trash it - no repair possible.

Purchased Akg earbuds

Purchased Akg earbuds, paid the higher price for the quality, however its not working properly and the customer service received from countless emails back and forth is useless!! They really try put you off asking for replacement! Do not purchase from them!

They just don’t care.

Purchased earbuds directly form JBL online they came faulty. They refused to refund/exchange. I sited consumers act, next day they changed their mind.
I returned the item on 10th January they have yet to do the right thing.
They have demonstrated on several occasions that they simply don’t care.
Purchase JBL, Harmon Kardon or AKG at your peril. If all goes well, no probs. Any issues you’ll have a fight on your hands.

AVOID !!!!!!

Ordered on 29/12/21, email said expected to deliver within 4 working days. Full payment was taken obviously, I tried to cancel the order on 01/01/22 as it had not been shipped and my health circumstances had changed therefore would not be fit for purpose as I am unable to move it around, got a shipping notification on 05/01/22 when I tracked the order it said delivery to Oldham was on the 07/01/22 between 10:00 - 16:00, waited in all day and nothing turned up. In the mean time I got fully refunded…then payment took back out again the day after ? Which is very bizarre.
Today is 13/01/22 still no sign of the item nor the tracking says anything about out for delivery. All in all an absolute shambles and I wouldn’t recommend purchasing via JBL / HARMAN.

Will never buy this brand again

Will never buy this brand again. I Have the subwoofer in for repair since August and Harman Kardon has still not supplied the correct part to their repaired, next week it will be 3 months. This is not a reliable brand and I suggest people stay away from it.

don't buy directly from them and expect them to abide by the reflected arrival time for your product. I needed what i ordered in the timeframe it reflected and as well reflected on my first notice from them. then got a second notice that indicated it would be delayed several more days. when i contacted customer service they were no help what so ever.
