First time I used holiday lettings and I can say I’m not best pleased at all. I had a booking for my honeymoon next year and now it’s been cancelled as a business owner myself I would have thought they would honour bookings that have been made before these chances were put in place. I find this absolutely disgraceful and it just shows a lack of care towards its customers. I’ll never book with this company again. I wouldn’t be surprised if they close down with the amount of people they’ve stabbed in the back.

Avoid like the plague. Like many travelers have received an email to say that they have cancelled our holiday.
Website points you to FAQ with in some cases one line irrelevant answers.
A company that values its customers would change its platform for future bookings and honor bookings already made.
If they can change their platform with 2 months notice once they can do it again. Think long and hard before booking with this company.
I also wonder why when a substantial deposit is made, why isnt that paid instantly to the vendor? Why is it kept in your account for months
Update…… it would appear that the restructuring started in 2022 and money would be made available for the running of Holiday Lettings from TripAdvisor ( who funnily enough have a few similar directors) for at least 12 months. (All in the published accounts on companies house)
So the question remains why let people book holidays when the writing was on the wall?

Just found out today that my calendar has been changed to "unavailable" and it seems to be same for every property in portugal. No communication at all about this and im being directed to a stanard faq page with irrelevant info. Complete shock. Now waiting to see if they are still operating and whats happening etc. Not sure if i am owed money but will start investigating

Despite booking and paying a deposit this May for a booking in June next year we have received a message today cancelling our booking and saying that our Sizeable deposit will be refunded. But WHEN?
If we were to cancel ourselves now (might save Holliday Lettings a little!) would there be a cost?)
The host was unaware of this and has suggested VRBO as the booking medium. We selected Holiday Lettings as their reviews were good. Does anyone have any experience of VRBO?

AVOID - this company have just cancelled all their bookings from 1st November with the excuse "we are restructuring our business model".

I am an owner on Holiday Lettings. Very rarely get any bookings but that's because most of bookings are by personal recommendation.
Today I get an email advising that any bookings after 31 October are immediately cancelled. The only way I can contact the guest is through their page (as they don't share email addresses) and I have no way of contacting Holiday Lettings to ensure this isn't spam.
I'm trying to reach out to the one guest I have who has booked through the site to reassure them. Unlike holiday lettings, I take the experience of my guests very seriously.
Absolute mess. Beyond no stars.

Great place for a base to explore from. The accommodation suited us with 5 adults and a child. All well equipped and decorated. Quiet location but with most things in easy reach. Nice private bit of garden to get out to when the weather allows. Owners responsive swiftly and graciously to any queries. Would recommend.
As someone else said gave 1 star as can't give none. Apartment in Edinburgh advertised as 2 bedrooms was in fact single bed in corner of what was presumably the lounge and double bed in same room as dining table with 2 chairs and TV. Wardrobe in cupboard behind other furniture. On top of that when toilet cistern would not flush we were blamed for breaking it. Ongoing dispute with TripAdvisor 'customer services' who have decided we were to blame based on us being in residence at the time and 2 photos showing inside of cistern. All logical points that we never removed cistern lid so how did we break it and why would anyone remove lid unless already broken ignored. But man spoke to in foreign call centre decided it was us by looking at the photos although he's not a plumber, and because owner said so. This is their way to settle disputes although no lawyers used either.
Ironic that I've never done a bad review before and first one I do is for company owned by TripAdvisor !

We stayed in El Divino complex, Los Alcazares and the apartment was perfect, clean and tidy. We were contacted by the company prior to arrival about checking-in, everything was smooth and efficient. Checkin-out was just as easy too. 5 minutes walking distance to the restaurants and bars, with the sea a 10 minutes walk. The pools are very clean and tidy but beware, there are "Pool Rules" and these are strict... so if you have kids I suggest you go to the beach! 2 lifeguards monitor the pools from 10-8pm and have been told to rule with a iron fist!
Armyn house in Falmouth. (Prim short stays) This company cheat you out of the deposit - they have done this numerous times to other customers. They accused me of not leaving two keys when we did ( three witnesses)

This apartment is very nicely decorated with good quality furniture and equipped with everything you could possibly need to ensure you have a great stay. The owner of the property, Paul, met us on arrival and gave us the keys and because we arrived very late, he even kindly put milk in the fridge for us. There only one thing missing from this property and that was a sea view. However, one minute from the front door, at the rear of the property was a gate which led to a grassy area leading to the west beach which is only a very short distance away. The apartment is located in a nice area and there is little noise, ideal if you are a light sleeper. We will book this apartment again.
Sally is a very welcoming host, her cottage is situated is a beautiful area of Fanad, with many nearby villages, tourist locations & beaches accessible with a short drive. Per friendly which was a huge bonus for us.
I would suggest adding basic amenities to the property i.e butter, milk, condiments.
We had trouble with wash basin in the bathroom being blocked and draining very slowly throughout our stay.
If anyone gives an option should or should have visited before giving as to were I stayed yesterday everything was in walking distance if you are able to walk long distance and not disabled I would recommend updating the bedding brighting up the lighting cleaning the fans blades putting a mesh on the bedroom window so it can be opened without any issue a mesh on bathroom vent for same reason general clean of the furniture and covering we did enjoy ourselves but couldn't recommend sorry they's are recommendations.

Don't ignore these chancers many bad reviews. They advertise properties without owners consent then blame the owners when double booked. They are also making it very difficult go get any kind of refund. And the property in question is STILL on there site!

In January this year, I booked a lakeside lodge at Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire with the agent - holidaylettings.co.uk and paid a deposit of over £200. The holiday was booked for June 2024.
After a few weeks (in February) i had to cancel this booking due to unforeseen circumstances. I contacted holiday lettings to cancel and asked if i could have at least some of my deposit back.
They did not reply to this request and just sent a standard email stating "Let's get you to Tattershall. We're sorry your booking at Lakeside Indulgent Lodge with Hot Tub at Tattershall Lakes didn't work out. Let's help you find a new rental fast"
They did not even bother to tell me i could not have any of my deposit back and just sent me info to re-book. I was fuming as i could not afford to re-book and had to cancel due to financial circumstance. The deposit was a lot of money to loose and i certainly could not afford to loose such a large amount of money.
I have since looked at other lakeside parks since my financial circumstances have improved and found that other companys/agents in the UK are only asking for a £10 deposit.
I felt disgusted that the booking agent gave me no reply about any refund of my deposit whatsoever and would certainly never book with this agent/company again.
In reply to Holiday lettings, regarding loosing over £200 deposit (I actually lost £212.87) for cancelling my holiday.
I contacted the owner firstly to cancel my booking and he told me “I would have to contact the booking agent directly, as he cannot alter, cancel or change their booking”. From this reply, I assumed that I needed to contact the booking agent directly to cancel and also to ask for some of my deposit refunded.
As I stated, I then cancelled my booking with the booking agent and asked if at least some of my deposit could be refunded as £212.87 is a large amount of money to loose since my financial circumstances had changed.
As stated in my review, I did not receive a reply to this request. Nor, was I advised that I needed to contact the owner as from the owners brief email it sounded as though everything is dealt with by the booking agent.
I feel this should have been explained to me when I cancelled, by both the owner and the booking agent.

The premises were very clean, well appointed and ideally located central to the main areas of the town viz, shops, beach, and main attractions. There were only 2 points of disappointment.
1) No car parking provision (we had to carry cases and unload our car in a car park some 600m from the premises and load up the same way at the end of our stay) and the parking spaces in front of the accommodation was continuously parked up, 24 hours a day despite assurances from owner that we could load and unload at the door. Our party incurred a £50.00 parking fine for attempting this.
2). no place to sit outside in the open air attached to the premises in good weather.
Tried to book three villas on separate occasions in Spain for 2025 but each request was rejected by each owner as the prices listed on holiday lettings website were all incorrect. Waste of my time.

Good search options. Easy to look at property choices. Simple booking and explanations.
We booked a villa in Calonge for 12 people on the Holiday Lettings website. In the details of the property. Under the. ‘Amenities’ heading it clearly said ‘Linen provided’ and ‘Towels provided’. It also said ‘Pets welcome’. The owner of the villa contacted us 2 days before we were due to arrive . They informed us that Linen and towels were not provided and they would charge 20 Euros a head for linen and towels. They also informed us that they would charge 40 Euros for our small dog. This meant we would have to pay an additional 280 Euros extra on top of 7,750 Euros paid for the villa. They also charged a further 230 Euros for cleaning at the end of our stay which was not mentioned on Holiday Lettings website. We had various discussions with representatives from Holiday Lettings- the last conversation being when we were on our way to Spain when they said if we did not like these conditions we could cancel the booking, subject to their charges for cancellation. The only comments we have about the villa itself are that the cooking facilities are not satisfactory for the amount of people the villa accommodates . Apart from that we found the villa Mas Ambros very comfortable.

Superb apartment, with fantastic view over the harbour.
We have used it for our holiday for two year running and booked it for next year. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We recommend this apartment.
