Hyatt centric holiday nightmare (fishermans wharf san francisco)

There was high levels of repeat cash debit transactions taken from my account every day since i checked into hyatt centric.
This left myself and my family with zero balance in my account to enjoy our holiday.myself and my family saved for years to bring our 12yr old son to san francisco to visit alcatraz island .this has been a dream for my son for many years and he is also autistic so this was a very difficult situation for him to understand that all our holiday spending money had been taken by the hotel due to an error with the hotels sytem. This caused a great deal of upset and distress to not only my son but myself and my partner as we had to try to explain the situation to our son as to why his spending money for his dream tour of alcatraz island was all gone .it also left us as a family unable to enjoy our holiday and the freedom to spend our money as we intended to and to do the things we had intended to do while in san francisco.Very unsatisfied with the hyatt centric after the 1st nights stay due to the above stated situation we feel this situation completley ruined our sons dream holiday and caused undue distress and left us feeling helpless and hopeless. as parents of an autistic child life is difficult and challenging enough for both parent and child without having to deal with the added distress of loosing all our holiday money on top and we feel our holiday experience was ruined.
It was also my sons 1st time flying as was mine too.we wanted to experience this for the 1st time together and cherish the memories of flying together and visiting his dream destination.
We feel this situation had a major negative impact on the quality of our holiday and the memories we intended to make together as a family that unfortunatley was impossible to attain due to all our money being taken from my account.i hope that the hyatt centric ensures this never happens to another family as it wasnt just our family affected this happened to several other people staying at the same time.
I hope lessons are learned and no one has to experience what we did as a family.

Ownership SCAM

Do NOT sign up for a timeshare with Hyatt. Regardless of what they call it, the customer service is HORRIBLE, and you’re trapped until you pay tens of thousands of dollars to line their pockets on a scam. We still owe a few thousand dollars and are still on the hook until the end of next year. Learn from our mistakes. You have no advocates in Hyatt. That department is a lie. You can offer a settlement, but they’re greedy enough to want every cent. This is nothing but a scam. You can’t book any dates. Fees increased every year. You cannot rent it, sell it, give it away, walk away.

This is how they treat veterans. We’re out thousands, and they only care about money. Spend your money elsewhere. Shame on Hyatt

Our favorite big hotel brand

Have been super pleased with our Hyatt experiences. Their points values are often better than competing brands. There is relatively good brand consistency between properties even in different areas. The free breakfast perks at the independent properties are also really nice with Globalist status.

Very disappointing

If you look at reviews, you will notice that the Hyatt branded resorts in the Dominican Republic garner high ratings. If you have ever traveled, and then stay at Hyatt Dreams Onyx or Breathless you will be disappointed. If you have ever been to a French or Italian restaurant other than La Madelaine or Olive Garden you will be very disappointed with what they are slinging out. All of the food on both of these resorts is inedible. I bit into a hamburger at the beach bar, hit a rock and cracked my rare molar in 3 places and it had to be extracted in the US. I now need an implant. The hotel "turned it over to their insurance company." That's nice, so I need to deal with a third world insurance company now? Yep

Fraudulent "offers"

I believe the website "offers", where they supposedly offer rooms at a discounted rate, are fraudulent and do not exist. I recently purchased a week's stay with "up to 40% off the normal price". When I looked at the same room when the offer was not applied, it was exactly the same price.

I raised this with customer services but to date am still waiting to hear back from them on why this is the case. They just keep passing me onto other people.

I would never trust this brand.

Hyatt Place Sacramento/Roseville…

The Hyatt Place Sacramento/Roseville took 45 minutes to check in as the receptionists didn't seem to know how to use the computers. The room was noisy, I called to get another room for 10 minutes and the receptionist didn't answer. When I went to the lobby, a new receptionist was there that was also the bar tender. It was definitely not worth $230 a night. I wIll never stay at a Hyatt hotel again. So much for the luxury reputation of Hyatt hotels!

Park hyatt new york dishonest staff and misleading world of hyatt program

Be careful of the false and misleading benefits of world of hyatt program. I am at the highest tier “globalist” , yet I experienced the worst and rudest attitude from their guest support agents specifically a lady called Judy D (if thats her real name as she claims). Also as per World of Hyatt program rules if you are booked in a standard suite then you are not eligible for an upgrade even if the next category of suites is available. Thats what I experienced and I received an official email from front desk manager Benjamin Nikolai offering a downgrade to a standard room since they offered me a suite (my original booking) on the lowest floor despite requesting two weeks in advance for a high floor (thats my usual preference in this hotel since 2017 every year).

I had to raise a complaint on Park Hyatt New York operations director David Sherman who lied about a suite upgrade back in 2019 claiming it was to junior suite (this hotel never had or have junior suite category) and the front desk manager Benjamin Nikolai and this Judy D refused to accept the complaint and refused to compensate despite the dishonesty from Sherman and the rude attitude from Nikolai. In addition to the slow service and non recognition of my globalist status.

I recommend not staying with any Hyatt Property due to the bad attitude from their guest relations support.

The worst front desk manager and the hotel.

The worst staff and hotel that I have ever been. Our travel agent booked a room, which nowhere was specified that this room was for disabled people. I really respect people with disabilities, but cannot live in the room that specifically designed for such needs. It breakers my mental health due to my personal reasons. I asked the front desk employee to help me and to change the room. The answer, we don’t have other free rooms. But suddenly, when I started to argue with her, she found the room. Worsen then that I have now. Nowhere on their website, on Booking, on Google, nowhere I didn’t find information that the booked room is for people with disabilities. They try to protect themselves just because they have one photo that doesn’t reflect at least 40% of bathroom. By their logic, my travel manager and I should understand what kind of room it is, just based on this half of photo.

Fabulous stay at the Hyatt Lehi/Salt…

Fabulous stay at the Hyatt Lehi/Salt Lake. The facility is lovely, the rooms quiet, the temperature easy to control, and the access is excellent. I spent three days at the Hyatt for a conference. The food provided for the conference was excellent. The meeting facilities were great. The only thing that wasn't perfect was passworded access to the internet. The front des, didn't know the updated password, and my hotspot wasn't working, so I couldn't do some things I needed. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Front desk staff unprepared, poor trained but rude

We have visited this property for few years since 2019. We have experienced some deterioration of the quality of products, value for money, but in our last visit December 2023 our experience with the service at the front desk was below ground.
Miguel Bermudez FOH mgr is not up to his position with poor body language and aptitude towards guests. His team at the front desk have the same line of approach towards guests. They were laughing at my family due to some internal and new policies we were not been informed before our arrival to the hotel. All due to the inspection they have months before by the authorities relating to the breaches of the guidance related to the human trafficking and underage prostitution policies in Cartagena.
The poor handling of this matter at check-in by the front desk staff was very poor. Mr Bermudez did make things worse due to his lack of confidence with matter and the lack of information and training to the front desk staff.
This matter could be dealt in a better manner if Mr. Bermudez and his team were trained and informed professionally.
We asked to talk to the manager, the staff was avoiding at all times the information required for the General Manger which was in his holidays.
The amount of unhappy arriving or leaving guests we witnessed from the Hyatt Cartagena was a surprise. We even had an opportunity to talk to a family which have the same type of poor service at a check-in.
There is not leadership in this Hyatt Hotel which have a great problem as we recently have seen in reports.
It was last time for us in the Hyatt Regency Cartagena de Indias. We will still visiting Cartagena for business or pleasure, but definitely we will avoid to visit this hotel, we will not recommend it to business partners, friends or family.
Hyatt Regency Cartagena de Indias is following the same line as one of the branded hotel down the street in the same area of Boca Grande, this very well hotel has the same problem for years, when the started to tackle the issues, it was too late as the problems spread without control, they still confronting the problem now after several years of trying. Very costly!
To Mr Miguel Bermudez or Mr Cleyder Reales, closing the hot water in our room 2222 in the last night was not good idea..it has made things worse.

Front desk person screwed up our…

Front desk person screwed up our reservation for 2 nights. After one night, when we were out shopping all of our belongings were packed up, our dress clothes thrown in a garbage bag. No one even called us. When we got back to the room we were locked out and without a room.

Front desk person at Plymouth Hyatt was very rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful to us and walked away from us. He even refused to give us his name.

We will never again stay at a Hyatt hotel.

Secrets Cozumel has Bed Bugs, Stay Away!

We stayed at Secrets Cozumel resort for a week in December which was a major disappointment to say the least.
Our first room had No hot water, the fridge didn't work. They changed the fridge. They said they had no other rooms and we would have to wait till one was available. Day 3 - They made us check out of the room early so they could clean it and stick the next unsuspecting guest (victim) in it. We could only sit around the resort and wait for them to make right with this situation the ENTIRE day. We had no room, no clothes - everything was sitting in the lobby in our luggage. Room #2 - finally, late afternoon... but only scalding or freezing water... nothing in-between. Room #3 - they "upgraded" us to "preferred," BUT - we had no choice but to sign a form releasing them of any negligence and that the preferred room was our compensation for their negligence. We had no choice at that point and were basically forced to sign the papers so that we could finally get a room and take a shower.

All of the rooms were in need of deep cleaning. The second room they moved us to appeared to have black mold in it.

Day 5 - BED BUGS!!!!! I woke up with bed bug bites all over my body. We reported it. They offered to spray the room - or move us to Room #4.... no thanks. We only had one more night and couldn't wait to get out of this place. A horrible ending to a horrible vacation.

When we arrived at home I contacted Hyatt and let them know about our experience and that this hotel had Bed Bugs. They emailed me a case# and said someone would be contacting me. Two weeks later still no response from Hyatt.

Do not stay at Hyatt hotels under point…

Do not stay at Hyatt hotels under point system. I am the highest tier with 600K points, all from business stays. I have attempted to stay at five locations throughout the country the past year on points, and each Hyatt property does not allow for the points. They advertise points allowed, and then do not allow points when attempting to book. The Hyatt points program is a fraud.

Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun Resort

We were at the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun during the
month of of November. During this time we found
the lawns were well manicured, the pools were
clean and the staff were friendly. Entertainment in
the evening was good ,as was the food. The beach
though was terrible. There is not much beach to
lounge at. The sand was not very clean. If you like
to lounge at the pools, this would be a good place
for you. I think though that usually people want
value for their money so I do not think that you
would get value for your money here. Some of the
pictures do not show exactly what you are getting.
Our son came with us to the resort so we asked to
be at least on the same floor but for some reason
they could accommodate us.
During our stay we found a very large cockroach in
our room. As everyone knows, where there is one
cockroach, there are many more. We complained
to the front desk and they moved us to another
room so they could fumigate. I would not think that
the insecticide that was used would be very good
for small children or even adults for that matter. We
felt quite bad for the unsuspecting people in the
adjoining rooms where they had to fumigate . I
read that these sort of insecticides can cause
health problems later.
We asked to be moved to another building
because the insecticide fumes can be carried in to
the adjoining rooms. We are quite worried about
the cockroaches getting into our luggage, clothes
and even having them brought back to our home
after the vacation. We actually spent quite a bit of
time looking through all our belongings instead of
relaxing at the resort .
We were put into another room and we found the
couch was missing from the room and there was a
light fixture dangling above the shower with live
wires. We called and they came immediately to fix
the situation. Who knows what could have
happened if we did not notice and started
showering.
We mentioned to one of the staff about the
cockroach situation and they said that we would
expect this since this resort was built on jungle
land.
Later when we got home, we wrote the Hyatt and
the representative at the resort said that
unfortunately ,it is part of the natural fauna . I have
been to Mexico many times and I have never
encountered cockroaches in my room. Possibly
then it is true as the staff member it said, the resort
is built on land where there are cockroaches and
other rodents.
Later on after we had talked to one representative,
another representative emailed and said that they
wanted to make a phone appointment so we could
discuss the issues that we had there. We made the
appointment and the time they were to call us
but we did not receive a call at all. We’re quite
annoyed because we thought that maybe they just
sent a generic email to us and hope that nobody
would respond. And we did email them again to ask why we did not get a phone call. Still no response.
We had also noticed in one of the restaurant
bathrooms and in one of the hallways of another
restaurant there were metal boxes that were either
mice/rodent traps or sonic boxes for mice or
rodents.
If you just scratch the surface, this resort looks
pretty good to book at . After looking at the
positives and negatives of this resort, I would not
recommend this resort because the negatives far
outweigh the positives
