I suggest you avoid

Bought a CD player direct from their website and kept fobbing me off with delivery, (blaming covid) until the point they cancelled & refunded and then relisted the same item on ebay at £50 more (as hyperworld) a very bad way to behave as a seller and totally scamming, I suggest you avoid and deal with reputable sellers

Excellent transaction

I don't normally write reviews, however I felt that I should in this case. I read many of the bad reviews and they did worry me but I decided to still go ahead with my order from Hyperfi for a Denon Avr.
I need not have worried as both my interaction with the company and the product were excellent.

The avr I was interested in buying was clearly advertised as B-spec but the machine I received and the packaging was in a condition that could only be described as perfect.
I have it connected up so it has been fully tested at this stage. I have no idea what is behind the negative reviews but I can say that I am very happy with my decision to use my own judgment. I have a top spec machine for a hugely discounted price.
Based on my interaction with the company via email and the product received, I would give Hyperfi 5 stars and my recommendation.

Credit where credit is due

I ordered from the company and then read the scathing reviews. They then got in touch and, as reported in various reviews, they said the item wasn't in stock. I was worried to be fair but credit where credit is due. They immediately said I could have a refund if I wanted. I asked for the refund and this was processed straight away. No hassle whatsoever.

They sell secondhand crap

They sell secondhand crap. My system arrived covered in specs of white paint and both speaker’s severely damaged.
Only when you question them about the damage do they admit they only sell second hand stuff. My product was bought as new not used.
Avoid this sham of a business, as soon as I ordered they tried to send me cheaper speakers. When you complain they show very little interest.

BE VERY ABOUT THIS BUSINESS, THEY SELL SECOND HAND JUNK

I bought an Onkyo HT-RC630 AV Receiver. Very Satisfied.

I bought an Onkyo HT-RC630 AV Receiver from Hyperfi, which i knew was an old model, but i was not too fussed, as it's specification suited me fine, and it was at a very reasonable price. My order was delivered very quickly, but the Bluetooth connection was very intermittent. So i contacted Simon at Hyperfi, who made a number of very helpful suggestions, which did not work. So I conatcted Simon who arranged for my Receiver to be collected, and a short while later, I received an email to say they could not find the fault, but they replaced the Receiver nonetheless, which quickly came and has worked perfectly ever since.
I am very pleased with both their attitude, and their service. i would very happily buy from Hyperfi again with confidence.

Sham organisation

Sham organisation, you order something and they send you something totally different, cheaper and tackier stuff. Because you have to pay the return postage they hope you will keep it. What a awful business. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I didn't have to pay postage due to Paypal paying it for me, if they do it to you - kick up a fuss with everyone but the best policy is to shop at a reputable store.

Shocking eBay experience

Shocking behaviour by Hyperfi (Hyperworld on eBay). I bought a microwave on eBay and paid for Click and Collect delivery to Argos. I never heard anything and after a long wait I contacted Hyperfi to ask when it would be delivered. They said that it had been returned to them by Parcelforce as Argos refused it and they had refunded me. It would have been nice to have been told this!

I checked my PayPal account and noticed I had not been refunded the postage of £18. I spoke to Hyperfi again and they said it wasn’t their policy to refund postage on non-delivered items and told me to take it up with Argos! They said they had been charged for the returned item by Parcelforce and I should count myself lucky they hadn’t passed that charge on to me! I persisted in asking for a refund of the £18 postage and pointed out they were breaking eBay’s Terms and Conditions but they flatly refused. Customer services were at all times curt and dismissive.

I raised a complaint with eBay and they discovered that Hyperfi had labelled the item incorrectly and that is why Argos refused to accept it. eBay said it was obvious I was should get my postage back. They took over the case and I got my refund. Thanks eBay!

Nervous CD player buyer?

Not a bit of it - and I read all the negative comments with the positive ones.

I rang them , asked some straight questions, got some straight answers and received my Marantz 6006 UK edition 2 working days later.
For alleged "B" stock, the player was unmarked, with ALL accessories apart from the batteries - works perfectly.
Must give credit where it is due - 1st class experience.
Don't be put off by the website - it does need updating as far as secure payment for sure.
No complaints from this happy customer

Hassle free repair

I bought a graded/refurbed Marantz amp from HyperFi on ebay around 3 months ago. It sadly went wrong a few weeks ago, but after an email to Simon it was sent back for repair with minimal hassle and a couple of weeks later it is now back with me and working again. Very happy with the service.

Polk Audio TSx550 5 Way Floorstanding Speakers Black

I am writing this review to say how impressed I was with Hyperfi. When ordering these speakers the communication with the company was great. The speakers were delivered as promised.
The price was amazing, half the price of anywhere else and the speakers I received were brand new.
The speakers are amazing. I have had more sets of speakers that I care to mention but these blow the rest away. I use for my music and there is no need for a sub as these produce brilliant lows and highs. Great speakers and great service.

Exceptional Company , Exceptional Prices, Exceptional Customer Services

I came across the name of this company by chance when I was looking for HIFI music system I tried to phone them and it took me a while for to get hold of someone not until I send them an email. Then it was easy to phone them and speak to them and ask for advice. I ended up not only buying a HIFI music system but also speakers which initially I had no intention to buy. Now I have got speakers and music system all for a bargain prices, The best part was the delivery I was told it will be delivered within 48 hours it did not take more than what they had promised I am very pleased with it. If you want something high quality which you might not afford for the prices you see on the shelves of many super HIFI stores or even online buy those same things for bargain prices at Hyperfi but do have some patience if you phone them,. absolute trustworthy company do not hesitate to buy your next HIFI system from this company.

I love these guys

I absolutely love this company, they totally saved our asses! This is essentially a dual review about how great Hyperfi are, but also how good the Yamaha HTR range are.

In a flat we rent out, the sound system failed just after the tenants moved in! Damn! This placed us under pressure to come up with a solution as soon as possible. The installation also needed to go smoothly without glitches, because working on a flat with the tenants in situ is pressured and awkward.

Speaking to the charming Simon Schmitz, he upgraded our delivery to next day and our Yamaha HTR3068 arrived at lunch time, so we were straight out to the flat to install it.

Another obstacle for which this unit made such a superb solution is that the set-up was still slightly old-school: RCA phono plugs everywhere and no HDMI. To change to HDMI would mean the knock-on effect of having to change the DVD player, Freeview box AND the TV which would be a massive task with tenants living there.

Incredibly, the HTR 3068 bridges this situation: Whilst suitable for the future HDMI set-up we'll want to do eventually, it also has inputs and outputs (both audio and video) for the older phono style plugs, so it worked instantly with the existing set-up.

The Bluetooth aspect was just stunning, working flawlessly at the first attempt, meaning the need for one less cable and delighting our tenants that they can now play their iPhones and laptops in surround sound!

Overall, a massive success. I'm thrilled that we had such an effective quick solution to a stressful problem. Thank you Hyperfi and thank you Yamaha! The Yamaha HTRs are absolute gems of units, I love them. (In a different flat, we put an HTR 3065, which was a revelation in itself!)

Great Products, Great Service

Highly recommend. I asked for a separates system that would improve my home cinema experience, but not blow my neighbor's roof off. I got a fantastic deal from a chap called Simon - and the sound is superb.

Fantastic Company, Fantastic prices , Fantastic Customer services

I have been using Hyperfi for over 15 years for all my hi-fi and TV requirements. The salesman are extremely knowledgeable and I have never felt pressured into a sale. Between myself and family we have bought over 10 TV's, only once have we had to exchange 1 TV due to a fault, but that is to be expected, how else can you get these prices? They replaced the TV no problem. The rest of the TV's are still going strong today.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Don't be put off by some of the poor reviews people have put up. I really think these must be a tiny percentage of the sales they do. I honestly found them to be extremely helpful.

Unacceptable behavior

I sent a receiver in for repair, and upon reception, it still failed. Hyperfi said they needed it for repair again.
This time I claimed, that they should pay for the return shipping (I am shopping from overseas, so the costis significant) They refused.
Actually the european trade laws, for internet purchases state, that seller should pay for this. Having made Hyperfi aware of this, they still refused.

Now, after contacting Consumer Europe, who have tried to get in touch with a n employee(apparently the owner of Hyperfi) with no luck. I have now again contacted Hyperfi. But this time They don't even reply my emails.

Thus this bad review. I just wanted some kind of assurance, that I would not have to send the unit in for repair again, and have a faulty unit back. having spent another GBP 40. but my e mails just seem to be ignored.

So far so bad

Bought a yamaha S-A500 for 190.The next day I got an Email telling me to contact them. The guy said it'd been damaged before it was loaded onto the van ( the same as another reviewer claims).I was told it would take 10 days to get another as it was out of stock.I paid an extra £50 to upgrade to another amplifier I'd had my eye on ,that was in stock.the next day I got another Email selling me there's going to be a "delay" in my order and I "should get it sometime next week."Well, next week has came and gone and still no sign of amp nor messages updating me !
So,it looks like they're taking money from people knowing it's not in stock and then ordering in the items to fill the orders. So be prepared for a wait to save some cash.
