Beware of Fraudsters in their Call Centre
Noting the company's complete lack of response to complaints made on this platform, one can only conclude that the management and the billionaire owner of Iberostar couldn't care less.
For what it's worth, I am reporting my complaint here to warn others and ascertain if others have fallen victim to the scammers working at the call centre in Spain.
I called and booked a room for a trip to their hotel in Cozumel, Mexico. The call handler took my bank card details to book the room.
A few days later, attempts were made to use my card which was new and I had not used before, online for various purchases in Spain and around Barcelona.
I spent a considerable effort and sent numerous emails to report the problem to Iberostar but to no avail.
The company and its staff either couldn't be bothered to investigate my complaint OR they know the problem but are keeping quiet about it.
Please do be careful.

Email below sent on the 21st of Feb 2024 and no response!
Dear Management,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint about a recent incident that occurred during my stay at your establishment (Iberostar Founty Beach room 2126 16/2/2024 - 22/2/2024). Unfortunately, I am deeply disappointed to report that both my son's red football kit and his white football kit were stolen from my room. This has been distressing and has caused significant inconvenience during what was intended to be a relaxing holiday.
In addition to the theft of the football kits, I would like to bring to your attention the issues I faced with accessing my room when staff members were present. It is concerning that such incidents could take place, and it has greatly impacted my overall experience at your premises.
As a holidaymaker, I believe it is reasonable to expect a certain level of security and respect for personal belongings while staying at your establishment. The theft of our clothing items not only caused emotional distress but also financial strain, as I had to incur an additional cost of £60 to replace them.
I kindly request that you conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and take immediate steps to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. Furthermore, I would appreciate a reimbursement for the cost of the stolen items and the inconvenience caused during my stay.
I trust that you will address this matter with the seriousness it deserves and provide me with a prompt response regarding the actions taken to rectify the situation we have taken the last day of our holiday today searching for the items for members of management to say could it of been a 9 year and 6-year-old child.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Stayed here a couple weeks ago
Stayed here a couple weeks ago. Amazing resort and entertainment. food was amazingggggg......
Had one issue a drunk scouse smashing his room up above us, after one complaint it went quiet.
My only issue was food, bottle of coke was free? but a glass wasn't? either way do AI if you get chance. Another major tip.. if your out in the medina turn your hotel band inside out so no one knows which hotel you are from. We were harassed almost all day from a guy claiming to be our hotel staff he wasn't at all. Also always have cash
Relaxing stay … brilliant hospitality
Recently stayed in Iberostar Cristina in Mallorca and can’t recommend much the hotel. Can’t ask much as location is just couple of minutes away from beautiful beach. Food was fantastic and on the top front and restaurant staff was so friendly and helpful taking care of all your needs. We were huge group of 27 people with many vegetarian and they still managed to hit taste platters preparing exclusive food for us.
Will highly rate and recommend this and really like to thank all the hotel staff for their brilliant hospitality.
My experience Best Time At the Iberostar
Peter has the BEST entertainment team on the Island Sparkles, KK, Big Wayne, Skinny aka Ankle Socks, Fynes, Freshhhhhh, Concrete and miguel the vibes these guys bring will have you not wanting to LEAVE the resort.. The Bar by the pool when you get Jevon, Oshaine, Chenslee, Javed or Errol you will be treated with the BEST drinks and service.. If you would like THE BEST massage to remove all your knots ask for SHANNON she's the most beautiful person and will make sure you leave all your aches and pains.. The lifeguards are amazing always looking out for the people especially during the foam parties where the kids can get post in bubbles MARLON, LORRENZO and DAMIEN.. I cannot stress enough how much effort every member of staff from the front desk, to the cleaning, to the bar, to the ENTERTAINMENT, to the gardening team THEY ALL MAKE THE RESORT what it is the effort they put in to make you feel so welcome I really hope management know without them the hotel would be NOTHING I am coming back just for that reason alone 🇯🇲💫🤞🙌 The star camp for kids will absolutely surprise you parents it's AMAZING Kimberley and the team were fantastic and we really liked Roshane although we feel with his vibes and dance moves he should be in the entertainment team I hope to see him there when we come back LOVE TO ALL THE STAFF WHO MADE OUR STAY EPIC Ibero management TREAT THEM GOOD AS THEY MAKE US GUEST WANT TO COME BACK
The a/c had been turned off for the…
The a/c had been turned off for the whole hotel but the room was stuffy and although 4 times requested a fan no one had the decency to advise that these were not available. It appeared that management were never around to speak to. Our room was very uncomfortable noise was horrendous all night long. Groups of cars were travelling at 04.30 honking horns all the time just below our room. I had been advised by friends to upgrade room but felt we didn’t need a fab view but was not aware that we would have loud traffic noise. A very disappointing first and last experience with Iberostar as apart from bedroom issues, dining room issues, it was very poor quality of wines on inclusive rate. Iberostar management - I would like to say how welcoming all your staff (not reception desk) were and all very happy to assist where possible. Your staff are a real bonus to your company, shame on any management that may have been around.
Will return…
We’ve stayed at a few Iberostar places (Budapest and El Mirador), our most recent stay was Anthelia.
The food has always been excellent, particularly breakfast which is always buffet style.
Anthelia is the largest hotel and its buffet was huge. All the buffets had parts that changed daily, so one night there was sushi and the next roast pork… There is literal honeycomb the honey drips from, ice cream with cones and a chocolate fountain. You can ask for some things cooked to order, like steak, fish and eggs.
The staff are excellent too. Cheerful, efficient, empathetic and friendly.
At Anthelia we arrived 3 hours before check-in and there was no problem getting access to our room. We made requests via the app and nothing was too much trouble.
The facilities are amazing, but there are little details, mostly in the rooms, that need some work.
At Anthelia the toilet roll holders fail in their only function!
We will keep using the Iberostar brand as they have proven reliable and helpful.
Particularly Anthelia, where we took our almost 2 year old. It was the perfect mix of somewhere nice for us and still child friendly.
Lovely hotel in great location
Lovely hotel in great location. Staff very friendly and food good. Lovely walk into Lagos. We stayed in a pool view room (the smaller pool) which was peaceful though this may have been due to the time of year.
Always a good choice of food in the buffet restaurant and something for everyone. Would recommend lunch in the a la carte snack bar. The bar area had a great choice of branded spirits and cocktails. Staff always very friendly and helpful in all areas of the hotel. Would recommend.
Stayed at the Iberostar Selection…
Stayed at the Iberostar Selection Anthelia with my family for a week, and overall, it was a decent experience but not quite what I expected for the price. The location and views were fantastic, and the pool are was well-maintained with plenty of sun loungers. However, the rooms felt a bit outdated, and we encountered some minor issues like a leaky shower and slow room service. The food selection at the buffet was good, though it did get repetitive after a few days. The staff was friendly and helpful, but there were times when service seemed understaffed, especially during peak hours. It's a nice place, but I think there's room for improvement to make it feel more like a true 5-start experience.
Review Iberostar las dalias 16/10/24 to 23/10/24
Review Iberostar las dalias 16/10/24 to 23/10/24
This is an easy review to write because everything was just brilliant.
I usually find one or two staff are worth a mention, however, at Iberostar each and every staff member I had dealing with was, without exception, extremely friendly, totally professional and a just pleasure to deal with, even when I messed up attempting to speak Spanish.
So 10 out 10 to all the staff.
The food during the week while we there had a different theme every night with relevant cocktails.
We are a family of six, ages-ranging from 9 to 73 years old.
The food was of a very high standard with plenty of choice at each meal, although breakfast tended to be very similar each day. All six of us found plenty to eat and drink, I know I have put on a few lbs.
Our room 635 had a well stocked bathroom and was cleaned everyday, with towels replaced when requested, the cleaners were prepared to work around us when we where in the room.
The air conditioner worked well. We paid 21 euros for the hire of the room safe, 3 euros per day.
The entertaining team were terrific, full of action during the day and really well presented shows in the evening. I also never had to wait at the bar for more than a few minutes, sometime not at all. The kids loved the ice creams and we enjoyed the ice cold prosecco.
There were plenty of sun loungers around the pool area, the water felt a little cold at first, but perfect after a couple of minutes, our grand daughter spent countless hours in the pools.
The adult only area I found to have a more relaxed feel I spent some time there, again plenty of loungers, I did have a go in the whirl pool but not really my scene, not sure about the loungers in shallow pool, I couldn't quite see the point.
We booked a couple of trips and shows through a representative who was sat next restaurant named Hector, they all worked out and we all had a wonderful time.
Just a couple of personal points which I felt would have improved the my stay.
A bar at the adult only area would be nice touch.
Tea and coffee facilities be available at lunch and dinner as well as breakfast time in the restaurant.
Tea making facilities in the room, although I did get a kettle from reception with a 10 euros deposit.
All in all we had a fantastic week at Iberostar.
Dominican joke from hell aka iberostar dominicana
What a complete debacle this holiday turned out to be! First off, we shelled out around three grand for a week during the off-season—seemed like a steal, right? But the organization from Love Holidays and the hotel? A total shambles.
Let’s kick things off at the airport. We paid extra for a private taxi, only to twiddle our thumbs for over an hour waiting for the driver. The car was a relic from 2001—scraped and battered, more suitable for the scrap heap than a holiday! The woman who ushered us to the vehicle immediately began hawking tours, setting the tone for the week. I received no less than ten texts about these “fantastic deals” during our stay. It felt like a sales pitch from the moment we arrived!
The hotel? Well, it was decent—definitely not five-star material, but a solid four. The rooms were clean, but the reception experience? Absolutely horrendous! The staff barely spoke English or German, which is shocking in the tourism biz. After an agonizing check-in with zero hospitality, we finally got our keys and headed to our room, which, to be fair, was alright.
Now, the main buffet restaurant was a pleasant surprise, with a decent variety of food. But the themed restaurants? An absolute catastrophe! We ventured into the Italian joint, and if we were Italian, we’d have been mortified. Their version of lasagna looked like it had come from a nightmare, and the starter? I could whip up something more appetizing at a buffet!
And the staff? They seemed utterly uninterested. It was clear they were overworked and underpaid; they even told us as much! When we waited ages for our starters, their response was basically, “Who cares? We don’t get paid enough to bother!”
Then there was the nightclub experience—oh dear! The DJ was dreadful, turning what should have been a lively party into a snooze fest. Even the free drinks couldn’t lift the mood; most folks were leaving early, visibly unimpressed.
Let’s not forget the hotel staff who approached us with travel tips. One charming fellow named Victor convinced us to attend a timeshare presentation for a “free massage.” My husband talked me into it, despite my better judgment. The presentation stretched into a torturous 3.5 hours, culminating in a pitch for a timeshare at a whopping $27,000! What a ludicrous scam!
On the bright side, the pools were lovely, always clean, with plenty of sunbeds. The beach was a short stroll away, which was a bonus. But then, the relentless sellers on the beach became a real pain. One chap even woke me from a blissful snooze to peddle sunglasses! The hotel seriously needs to rein these folks in; they were far too aggressive.
Finally, when we checked out, the receptionist didn’t even bother to ask how our stay was. Just a quick “bye.” Really? In a five-star place?
So, if you’re after a genuinely relaxing holiday, do yourself a favor and head to Mauritius or the Seychelles instead. This place felt more like a tourist trap, where guests are treated like walking wallets based on their nationality. What a farce!
Grand Amazon Expedition. (NOT)!
This boat is misappropriately named as it's nothing of the sort. The boat is nice enough, the accomodation is good, the staff are friendly and helpful, however the excursions offered are dire! The excursion boats are noisy, so very little chance of seeing any wildlife at all, unprotected from the sun and whilst the guides spoke English it was a bit like listening to Yoda on steroids. I was booked for 3 nights 4 days. So the first day is a complete waste, boarding at 3pm and not setting off till 6pm, spending the next two days with alleged excursions and 'lectures' and shows to disembark on day 4 at 8.am. The excursions were far from comfortable usually rushed and mostly disappointing. visit to an indigenous small holding was nothing of the sort, not at all indigenous. The 'lectures' were fragmented, disjointed, and seemed to be a collection of computer files which always had be searched for and then displayed. Not professionally presented. The shows seemed to be a mish mash cobbled together either by some of the guides or the staff, totally mis advertised and extremely disappointing and a complete waste of time and money. If however you want a 'Butlins' type boat trip this might do it for you. I was disappointed.
Fortunately I couldn't even get availability dates
Tried to get date availability dates from the Iberostar website so i could book a holiday....couldn't get anything - not even suggested alternative dates to the ones I specified.
Then decided to read the negative reviews to see if other folk are having the same problem...... glad I did. Will definitely be looking elsewhere and won't waste my time any further.
Iberostar has always been our go to…
Iberostar has always been our go to spot. Mainly because of the service we receive. For our vacation last month, we stayed at the Suites and from the point of entrance and throughout our stay, the service was top-notch. Our Concierge Nadine too is as family and planned such awesome shows. We will definitely be going back.
Big bugs in a 4 star hotel!!! unacceptable!
I claimed about bugs in the hotel (including in the restaurant) but the client service wrote me it was not an acceptable claim...interesting no?
Furthermore, I booked for the second time at Iberostar to benefit from the kid club (Star Camp) to get free time for myself. I used this service last year in another Iberostar hotel, and it was great.
But the rules have changed, you are now required to stay with your kid during half of the Star Camps hours which was not the case last year and which is not explained on the Iberostar website. What a disappointement since it was the main reason of my booking!
Christmas family and I visited Iberostar in Senegal
My family and I visited Iberostar in Senegal and was very disappointed with the entertainment I wanted to see African Dancer and music just full of culture but we got Butlins entertainment
Thought Christmas they would bring it on but no same boring entertainment so it was a early night for us
DISAPPOINTED
Iberostar ElMansour Mahdia
Iberostar ElMansour Mahdia
We have just spent 10 nights at this hotel and can not fault it . From the second we turned up the staff were there on hand to help . Full of smiles and very polite .
The rooms were spacious and clean with a great view over looking the ocean.
Entertainment was amazing. There was something to do all day , from archery to tennis, French bowels and so many pool activities to mention . The whole Entertainment team were brilliant. We had sisco and Mario dancing and getting us to lots of the events and they were truly impressive.
Each evening a show was put on from dancing to fire breathing
Facilities there is something for all ages . Small kids Entertainment and play park aswell as there own pool . There were 3 more outside pools and a further indoors pool . All which are look over by a group of life guards that were there to make sure that you got the most out of your time and keep you safe .
There was small shop on site which had everything you needed . Even pool tables and air hockey.
Food was plentiful and changed most nights . Snack bar available most of the day aswell as bbq every lunch time along with a full buffet in the main restaurant.
Bar staff throughout were amazing. They kept your drinks topped up and even made special cocktails.
Iberostar Playa De Muro -Perfect Holiday Guaranteed
This is our second time here, 2 years ago, it was so completely enjoyable then we just had to come again - we are very well travelled and we never do that - it’s a big world after all and lots to see - but when a place captures perfect, box ticked guaranteed everything - and that’s just what you are looking for - then I know of no where else better to be. The Beach is jaw dropping with the most stunning colours and mountain backdrops, the very cool and stylish pools a literal stones throw away from that and then surrounded by beautiful tall pines and palms, the location is simply idyllic. Then you have warm, genuine, sincere hospitality with tip top professional service from all the staff - with a grace and spirit that really make the atmosphere what it is, serene, chilled and happy. And then finally the food, you know a place of quality or not by its food , the care , the attention to detail, the variety, the quality of the cuts (fish, meat etc) and the presentation. Food served proudly and with a passion- and it tastes just like all of the above. There are different specials per night too, lobster etc so always something new and different on offer to try. The best buffet , breakfast, lunch and dinner I think I have ever been too. There is an al a carte restaurant too but the buffet was so exceptional we didn’t go there. For an amazing beach, contemporary pools, beautiful staff, chilled and relaxing vibes and excellent food, all guaranteed - a perfect family summer holiday
