Great Service

Two packages from different companies. Was able to easily change the date on one so they arrived together. Received a text with lots of notice and the driver turned up precisely as the specified time slot started. Great service.

Not to be confused with DPD (the red …

Not to be confused with DPD (the red cube logo).
DPD Local are the old Interlink.
They're not a parcel courier. They're a blue & white card courier.
Dreadful (dis) organisation.
No names or addresses appear on their cards, only a date, time & 8 digit serial number.(different number on each card even if same parcel !)
Please note the reference number on the card is not your parcel number. (Why have 2 systems?)
No one answer the phones, they're a Monday to Friday middle of the day courier.
For reasons I can't fathom they attempt delivery at the same time each day, so if you work or are taking children to school there's a 100% chance you won't ever get your parcel.
Carrier pigeon would be quicker & more reliable.
I've taken to refusing to buy from vendors who use this courier.
DPD Local - summary. Not Fit For Purpose.

DON'T USE THEM FOR UK TO AUSTRALIA DELIVERIES

Don't even consider using DPD for UK-to-Australia consignments. They don't have a local branch here in Sydney for you to contact and their tracking system is not very reliable.

Aramex was listed on the tracking page as their partner but Fastways (Aramex's subsidiary) had no record of this item when I phoned them and gave them the parcel number (the DPD and Aramex tracking numbers were the same).

And the status update shows that it is being processed by customs and that the CONSIGNEE CANNOT BE CONTACTED!!

The sender from the UK should have known better and used UPS. I will be forced to do a credit card chargeback.

I can't fault it . Top marks all round

As a recipient of items from DPD I cannot fault their system or service. I was emailed an expected delivery day and time then I also received a text update and the really pleasant courier arrived exactly as planned (slot 17.47-18.47)

For me, this is great service, exactly what the sender would hope for so what could I possibly complain about?

I can't fault this service, for keeping me informed, for delivering at exactly the slot given and for the happy, sunny, friendly courier (the email said he was called Dan) who made the delivery.

Top marks for the reasons I've given above

I'd give no star if I could - terrible

Was expecting a pick up for a return today. Took the day off work. Got text at 9:41 saying they were coming and stayed in the whole day. Surprise surprise, when I called at 15:50 to find out where the driver was, they had apparently attempted to pick up 30 minutes before. What a complete load of lies. And what a waste of my time. I will have to go to the local depot to return the item myself. I will never use dpd and I will avoid any company that uses them to deliver. I have complained directly to the company I bought the item from as well.

Completely unacceptable behaviour.

They lost my parcel and no help …

They lost my parcel and no help whatsoever from customer service. First off, I had to contact them because I noticed on the tracking link that no movement was made for almost a week. Once I contacted them, they said they will look into it. Then no follow up from them, so I had to follow up. Once I followed up with them again, all they said was that it was lost and that they were sorry. While I understand mistakes happen, the follow up and customer service is horrendous.

Utter shambles

Utter shambles. We were with Interlink in 2016 and stopped using them due to the fact that we had 5 missed collections in 1 month. We complained about the service but no change. After reading some good reviews about DPD, we reopened our account with "DPD local" - voicing some concerns about the service - in March 2017. The first DAY of our new service the driver popped in to say they "were afraid of us and didn't want to come in to our business". The second day we had goods left outside of the factory on a delivery to us without any signature.

We were also told that we would be getting a week's worth of free deliveries for reopening the account. Instead, we had a £48 bill for 1 parcel! I cancelled the direct debit, but to receive a refund, I had to set up another direct debit with the company and the guy spent several hours getting this sorted out with us.

Incredible that the company responds to complaints about their service in such a childish manner. You would have thought, even a local depot would be interested in providing a decent service to their customers instead of acting like they've been scolded by a parent and throwing the toys out of the pram.

Very Poor - Undelivered after waiting 5 days!

In summary, my Sweaty Betty parcel has not been delivered despite promises of delivery on 3 different dates. Mis-information and hours of my time wasted chasing. Terrible service. On day 3 they said they couldn't find the location - despite it being one of the largest and oldest places on the local map and on the royal mail postcode finder! Royal mail can find it - why can't a courier company? The parcel has finally been returned to Sweaty Betty as undelivered - not a happy customer!

Driver does his own thing!

Ask for parcel to be left with neighbour via the "in flight" update service.

Driver does his own thing and tries home address and no one at home, the exact reason I made the change request?????

Poor service as usual from a corporate who is too big to care.

Looking at previous reviews it looks like "sorry" makes everything ok?

Crippled driver

So, my parcel was scheduled for delivery at 13.36-14.36 today.
Unfortunately the poor driver suffers from a thumb and wrist injury as he was unable to ring or knock on the door. There were 3 very anxious people inside the flat waiting for that parcel to arrive. But he took the time to take a picture of the door (with all of us inside). As soon as i got the text i oppened the door and got this crappy piece of paper with my parcel number!
Tried to contact them via phone and was unable since the recording machine does not give you he option to speak with a operator. Tried to send an email, and got an automatic response saying the offices are closed and the are open from monday to friday 07am - 22pm. Its thursday...14h20pm...
This never happened to me with any other delivery service..earlier today i got another parcel with no issues at all, driver was nice, he rang the bell...he was not dpd local...

Dented/damaged objects

An Easter hamper worth £100 which we were intending to give o a fiend as a gift is now useless- despite being professionally packed, the Easter eggs were not just slightly broken into large chunks (which I would understand as a risk) but smashed half to bits! There was chocolate between the cardboard and plastic packaging, the cardboard holding the eggs were damaged, some of the chocolate was now dust! And how did they manage to dent a hard tin of truffles?

I have contacted the (reputable) sender and tried to contact DPD Local- their make it better form doesn't work (I have got a try again later response from 1:30-3:00pm and probably tried 10 times). The above would again be excused if only I could actually contact them efficiently and easily!!

The delivery was quick enough- but what was odd was that the man did not knock or make any noise. I only realised he was here when I looked outside, saw a big van and assumed it was for me- but it had already been stopped, no one got out so evidently when I noticed the van the delivery driver was already at the front of the house- but having not made any noise or knock? My dog goes crazy at the sound of a knock or doorbell, it is a very thin door, the kids heard nothing despite being in the hallway and he looked as if he was walking away when I got to the door- very odd!

Bunch of Liars

Waited in for a parcel then tracked it at the teatime to find out it had supposedly been delivered at 12.20 and signed for by no one who lives in my household (only myself and 2 year old home at the time), I rang interlink straightaway who informed me that agency driver John who delivered the parcel had finished for the day but would investigate the next day after a couple of days I rang back for an update to be told he wouldn't be in till the Tuesday which was a week since the parcel had been delivered. When I rang back I was told that he said he'd delivered it to the correct address how this can be so when I never received my parcel I'll never know and how he can remember when it was a week later baffles me this meant that a dispute form had to be put in by the sender of the parcel who because they said it had been delivered correctly didn't do either because after all this fobbing me off the 28 day limit had elapsed. So I don't have a refund or my parcel all because agency driver John couldn't deliver to a very easy to find address! Really puts me off ordering from places if they use these as delivery and feel forced to change to the pick up shop where at least you have more comeback.

APPALLING

I'm a small business owner and have been using DPD for a while now. However in January they lost one of ours parcels and over the course of 2 months there has been absolutely no attempt to find it from anyone including our own account manager. I've wasted at least 12 hours of my time on the phone to them trying to chase this up (not including the money it has cost in phone bills). I have rung about 22 times trying to get to the bottom of what happened and at last managed to get hold of claims who admitted it had been lost but now say because it wasn't reported within 2 weeks we will not be compensated. I understandably assumed it had reached its destination (australia) as they are after all a 'courier' company so didn't realise I needed to chase anything until it was too late. I will never be using this company again and I would advise anyone else to be extremely wary of them.
