DPD Local are an immoral operation
I’m having a terrible time with DPD Local right now. I shipped a parlour classical guitar to Italy on 22nd December, they couldn’t find the address in a town and returned it to me in UK. They agreed it was their fault and re-shipped it and had the same delivery problems and the buyer drove 45klm to collect from them. When he opened it it was in three pieces despite the incredible packing. I paid extra for it to be covered to value of £550 and then they informed me of small print saying damage covered to £100 only. What a disgraceful operation they are.
Absolutely poor service
Absolutely poor service. As I was given an hour slot yesterday, I waited in my living room near the door to ensure I could sign for the parcel when it arrived. Suddenly i received an email and text saying DPD tried to deliver my parcel but no one was in and they left a calling card through my letterbox. This was a lie!!! They didn't put a calling card through my door, no one knocked or rang the doorbell. I have a security camera in front of my house and it showed no one tried to approach my front door during that an hour slot. This is the second time DPD driver lied about trying to deliver a parcel when they didn't! Their customer service number for compliant (0121 275 0500) is useless, you are just asked by a recorded voice to reschedule the delivery, there is no option to speak to a real operator! I would cancel any future purchase orders if DPD is involved and I will make sure to let the sellers know the reason!

Smashed goods!!! sent a parcel recently, contained FRAGILE all over the box. Clearly doesn't mean anything to your drives causing me loss on the item I'm not having refund on ebay. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

this is the worst delivery company I have ever experienced. No decent business would use these idiots !
They fail to collect urgent parcels, sometimes for days (in this particular case we are now on day 3) ..
Finding a contact number is near impossible.
Today they arranged a collection between 11.30am and 12.30pm and at 12.04 sent me a text message saying they couldnt collect as there was nobody in.... My collection address is a retail shop in a high street, fully staffed and open all day !!!
They obviously did NOT leave a collection card either as they claim!
I now have to go out and buy a new mobile phone as there is now no way I will get my repaired phone back in time for my holiday next week,,,
I can obviously not rely on them collecting the phone tomorrow either or delivering it on time to the insurance company approved repair centre.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!

Parcel wasn't delivered on time, checked tracking and apparently they couldn't deliver because my premises were closed. My premises have no locks, just normal gates that even a child could open, and I happen to know nobody even turned up because I was sitting with a clear view out of the window the whole time.
When I called to try and find out what was going on I was forwarded to the local office, the phone rang a few times and then they hung up. On my fourth attempt they finally bothered to pick up, I explained the situation, no apology or anything he just said he would contact the driver and put me on hold. 10 Minutes later he returned to say he couldn't get hold of the driver and he would try and get my parcel sent out when the driver returned at 4:30pm. At 5pm I phoned up hoping to get an update on what was happening and they just constantly hung up on me. It's now 6pm and after trying 10 times I eventually decided to give up and just hope it turns up tommorow.
I then tried to make a complaint to dpd but of course the phone line automatically forwards me to the local office, who hang up on me, and the email system requires the email and/or phone number of the sender which I don't know (and isn't really relevant?).
In the past I've had really good experiences with DPD, I always pay extra to have my parcels delivered by them, but after this experience I'm reluctant to ever use them again.

If I could give 0 stars I would! The worst delivery company ever. Ended up spending 3 days arranging delivery for my two parcels that didn’t get picked up by drivers. Ended up picking the parcels myself from their depot 4 days later so I could get them in time for Christmas. When raising a complaint to refund the money spent on phone calls to them they just said that in the T&Cs it says they don’t offer compensation.

I sent a present to someone for Christmas. It was due to be delivered no later than 20th December. It was delivered to a pick up location for collection and delivery. It was picked up on 8th January!!! It was delivered on the 9th of January. The customer service supervisor was derisory, just like their service. All complaints are made through the Live Chat service, meaning no direct voice contact available. From what I can tell, this is NOT part of the NORMAL DPD SERVICE which I have always favoured. IF YOU VALUE YOUR CREDIBILITY AND MONEY DO NOT TOUCH THESE WITH A BARGE POLE.

Avoid using this company
Avoid using this company. Not only did they not deliver my parcel on time (meaning I had to fork out more money for a replacement Christmas present) but they provided little to no customer support even though I tried contacting them via phone, email, Twitter and Facebook. Hopeless!
Shocking Service
Delivered my item to completely incorrect address, did not take picture of actual address delivered to. Had to search whole village, and no contact details to get in touch with anyone
DPD used to be very reliable
DPD used to be very reliable, until they created DPD Local. Our regular driver, who had been coming to us for several years changed and today, the new man, who has been to us on several occasions, did not deliver because he could not find the address. I suspect pre-Christmas fatigue is already setting in! I feel that my previous ringing endorsement of DPD will no longer be sustainable.

I paid for next day delivery which DPD Local has not fulfilled. I sent the parcel Thursday so it should have been delivered Friday. No one got in touch to explain what had gone wrong I had to chase it up! I couldn't speak to anyone on the phone and had to settle for live chat online which wasn't very helpful. I was informed that my parcel would be delivered Monday so three days late!!! Not so said the lady "1 working day late" I asked if my parcel could be delivered on Saturday and the lady said" No you have only paid for Working day delivery" Had DPD done the job properly in the first place and delivered my parcel next day before noon I would not of been requesting a Saturday delivery. Very disappointed with DPD Local I will not use again!!

The lies that they come up with are unbelievable.
They send me an SMS confirming that the delivery will be made today. At 12.30 another SMS informing me that they will now be delivering tomorrow due to bad weather?
Lie (1) The weather was fine today, no snow, overcast but dry with all overnight frost thawed. Oh and their tracking info confirms that my consignment is in their depot 6 miles away from my home address!
18.00 another SMS now telling me that "Jon" will now be delivering my parcel between 18.49-19.49 this evening. No show. I check their tracking site and find:
Lie (2) "Sorry, we couldn't deliver your parcel as the premises were closed; we will update you here shortly"!
We've been in all evening. No one has called and no note through the door if they had called and we had missed them.
Dreadful bunch of liars. This isn't the first time they have told outright lies to me regarding a scheduled delivery. I will no longer trade with any company that uses DPD Local to ship their goods!
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL CUSTOMER SERICE!!!!
Was given a time slot of "3:30 - 4:30". Watched the driver deliver "live" online other parcels 4 streets away and then I received an update saying "unable to deliver as driver could not find your address". I rang and after 36 minutes waiting was told they would speak to the driver. He apparently said he was running late and would definitely be with me. I queried the "unable..." message and the young lady on the phone explained it only said that as he had missed the time slot and there was no option online to put that. Assured me parcel would arrive. It didn't. When I rang back the office was closed and I had to wait for my order to update online which it didn't do for several hours.
When it did it stated my delivery had been taken back to the warehouse so I requested the parcels be delivered to our local Matalan store the next day. The online system said this would be "after 12".
I rang again today (another 41 min on hold) and was told it would be delivered there but they couldn't say what time or comment on the explanation I received from the young lady the day before. I told them to check their recording as it states at the beginning calls are recorded, he laughed and said "we don't record anything". He wouldn't confirm or deny what she had said about the online system was actually the truth or not.
So I asked what reason the driver had given for not delivering and was told "we haven't asked him". No apology - nothing. Everyone's tone and attitude was almost like "why you bothering us?".
Still waiting for the email to confirm I can collect my parcels and its now 1:30 pm.
Unable to deliver, unable to provide support
The driver O*** was supposed to deliver today between 14:56-15:56. He did not and the timeframe changed to 06:00-22:00. Shortly after the tracking history shows "Your parcel could not be delivered as we don't have the full name/number of the premises". This is difficult to believe and the retailer says he did supply both. A few minutes later the status changes to "Your parcel was refused" but nobody refused to accept anything! Chat in the app does not work as there are automatic messages about DPD being too busy. Calling from the app results to a message saying that app users are "leapfrogged" to the "front" of the queue. 40 minutes in the "front" of the queue and I'm still waiting. Awful experience.
Edit 1:
About 50 minutes in the queue and finally someone picks up. I'm reassured that DPD has the correct details (name, address, phone) and the helpful person on the other end suggests that the driver might have run out of time so what I see is an excuse. The delivery was upgraded and, fingers crossed, the parcel will arrive tomorrow before noon. There will be another edit once the parcel is delivered.
Edit 2:
The parcel was NOT delivered, again. Nobody came, no time slot given. No updates from DPD's side. Truly awful and I thought H***** were the worst.
Edit 3:
The parcel was delivered after two days, following numerous contact attempts.The box was damaged on one side. No idea about the product, I won't unpack as the retailer sent the wrong item anyway.
Wasted an hour of my life for nothing
These simpletons kept me on the phone for an hour to tell me that they spent the day sending me messages and contacting me about someone else's parcel - because they mixed up some of the details. A waste of everyone's time. I would never use these guys after this, I could never be sure they would deliver what I sent to the right place, who knows who they would send all your personal details to as well. You're probably better off just throwing the package in the street and hoping a friendly passer by delivers it.
