Happy customer for over 6 years
I initially chose Jottacloud as they abide by strict privacy laws. Knowing that my data will not be shared, sold, or fed into systems I have no control over is really important. The app and web interface work quite well, and I really enjoy their CLI. A pleasant surprise was their photo search functionality, which works really well. Finally, their pricing is fair and doesn't lock me into long term contracts.

Using for almost a year
I am using jottacloud for almost a year. I would like to have intergration with windows explorer and be able to map the archive folder where i can easily move files between pc and cloud. Now its only available with the software which is just okay. Never had problems with down status connection.

- Take the CLI tools out of eternal…
- Take the CLI tools out of eternal beta and actually support them instead if ignoring everyone's problems on github.
- Keep supporting EOL'ed Windows versions. The network stack has not meaningfully changed in decades and network and file rading/writing are the only things the CLI does. I will never upgrade my servers to worse and worse OSes from microsoft in order to run your CLI. I'd rather end the contract the moment I cannot run your programs from Server 2008R2.
- Several times I have gone over 5 TB of data by a couple hundred MBs and you have throttled me like I had 15 TB instead of actually 5.1 TB. When I called about it you played dumb. This is not acceptable.

Let me be clear. Such a reasonable and friendly reply when you are to be seen in public, and so unhelpful when in private. So, like Norwegians say: "Styr unna!" or, in good english, Stay away from Jottacloud unless you are their target demographic: computer-challenged middle-age phone users "Jottacloud backed up my grandkids' pics top company A+++"

inconvenient, buggy, slow as a snail
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service. Starting from the fact that exfat is not supported on Mac OS - while everything works fine on Windows. Ending with the clown show with the speed limit - on Windows after 5 TB the speed drops but not as fatally as on Mac OS - I've been pouring 500 gigs for a week. Garbage service

I actually haves nothing bad to say about Jottacloud. I have used them for around 10 yrs. They are steadly improving themselves, and it has been very easy to get access to them. At least here in Norway where I live. It seems safe to have my files there, they never use them for other purposes. All in all, for me I have no other choise than give them 5 stars.

I've used Jottacloud since 2012, mainly for photo backup. It's reliable, easy to use, and offers unlimited storage. Sync works well across all devices.
It supports photo metadata like geotagging, but advanced features like face recognition or smart albums are missing. Still, it's a solid and trustworthy service I keep coming back to.

Good but photo album needs improvement
The mobile app and the desktop application both have improved tremendously in the past couple of years. It’s also good value and avoids big tech.
The photo album is the only exception for me. That feature is still very basic in terms of looks, sorting, filtering, sharing. Needs to become the focus.
