I bought this s/w on advice from Curry's when I bought a replacement lap-top, major mistake! I spent a few hours setting up the lap-top loading s/w and files. Everything was working okay so I instal... See more

protection package
Bought a protection package, put in the five sets of numbers and it didn't make any difference, complete rip-off !
Shocking Service
So rang to renew my subscription and I am still on the phone after nearly two hours how long does it take I have been with you now for a long time and usually I ring I ask for a good price which they normally do and then I renew so 10 minutes max today over 2 hours!!!!
The service was the worst ever and so I will look elsewhere next year I asked for compensation for the hassle and the inconvenience and the time it took so answer was we can’t give you that we will give you an extra month so by now I am losing the will to live so I have renewed but not next year their service which was really good is now terrible
They asked me to send them emails photos and gave me an email address that isn’t even manned
Soon to be an ex customer
Very unhappy and really disappointed

Preloaded McAfee on new laptop deleted…
Preloaded McAfee on new laptop deleted as soon as laptop set up complete. Now getting emails saying they (McAfee) have checked my internet profile and am in danger all over. Also emails saying I am now protected. No pressure eh? Trying to scare / bully people to buy their bloatware product. Usual dishonest selling practice all over the internet.
McAfee® PC Optimizer
I purchased the above installed it. Then got a message I could not install as not enough space on C drive. So I started a chat with them online hoping they would help. How wrong I was the bot kept asking same question, then got someone else who had trouble understanding my problem. What poor customer service.
Scammers
We are used to hearing warnings about scammers cheating us out of our money. McAfee are one such outfit hiding in plain sight. They have taken four annual payments totalling over £400 despite us having cancelled over four years ago. We have had no correspondence saying they were doing this. They admit we don’t have a service from them but claim they can’t find the payments despite being given the reference numbers from our bank. We can recover the last payment via charge back but will have to go to the FCA to see if they can help with the rest.
I bought the Antivirus Protection for my laptop
I bought the Antivirus Protection for my laptop but it only gives me the option to put it on my phone. Am now trying to cancel my subscription which is IMPOSSIBLE! Why should they be allowed to make it so difficult to cancel your subscription? You can't do it on-line as they say you have to call the help number and then you can't get through on the phone - been on hold for ages already...
Watch out for the price renewal
Constant pop ups to upgrade, very annoying. Then 60 days, before the renewal date a charge for over $160. Ridiculous. Disputed the charge as fraud on my credit card.
Probably the worst thing I have ever…
Probably the worst thing I have ever invested in. The last 2 laptops I had came with a free subscription of Mcafee. When it came to renewal I thought the price was too high so I cancelled it and just like any subscription someone from another country was trying to sell me on it and I still declined. Behold, both laptops dont work at all after canceling my subscription. It's like they put a f:";ing virus on my computer because I cancelled. I hate this company and would never recommend them.
Auto renewal BS
Got an email to tell me my current subscription would auto renew in a months time, so I turned off the auto renewal, month later, it’s auto renewed despite me turning it off, and charged 79.99 instead of 24.99 that the plan was, on hold for an hour with no answer
My customer service rep Kiel was…
My customer service rep Kiel was helpful and patient. I was cancelling my subscription and requesting a refund. Review might change if the money isn't credited to my account within next 5 days, but until then, it holds
Obnoxious
They have some stupid code in their system that continuously resets your default engine to Yahoo. Its the 21st century, no one uses that. There's also no way to turn it off, you just have to keep resetting your default search engine like once a week. The actual antivirus aspect is great, but for the 200 pop-ups that it gives you when you turn your device on, you might as well just get a virus.
NO REFUNDS HERE
Subscription, overcharging failing to answer emails, chats ended no answer to calls. Used to be a name but basically a total scam designed to hit you at renewal and then go silent and avoid refunds at every opportunity. Shocking misuse of teh internet
I wish I could leave a half star review…
I wish I could leave a half star review because Mcafee isn't worth one star. There have been times when my chrome browser will randomly change to yahoo and I wasn't able to figure out why until I actually read the mcafee popup that said it would automatically change my browser to yahoo if i didn't say otherwise, which is annoying because i have chrome set for a reason. it acts like a malware because its very deceitful about what issues are actually happening just so that I will buy the actual plan
avoid
avoid, disaster , make your computer slow with a lots of adverts
Don't fall for McAfee
Bought a new laptop at PCWorld, was sold McAfee, got a notice saying it was expiring tomorrow when it still had 2 months to run. They wanted about £120 when a new customer was about£30. Nowhere to complain or contact. Then discovered the Windows 11 doesn't need separate antivirus anyway. Avoid
Dreadful
Dreadful. Fraudulent charges of 295 Euro from "Macafee" on my credit card due to malicious software. I have full Macafee cover. How did this happen? Customer service was useless. Polite lip service. I was informed that these deductions were not initiated by MacAfee and that my current subscription remains active until 1st January 2026 and will cost 125 Euro to renew.Like I didn't know.
Apparently good software, not a good user experience
IT "experts" tell us that this company has good anti-virus software. I have no reason to doubt this. But what they don't tell you is about the constant barrage of pop-ups trying to get you to upgrade your package for things that ought to be standard.
How about improving the user experience and not trying to scare customers into buying stuff? keep customers, don't churn them.
Scammers. Deserve 0 stars
A good 50% of the “scam” emails I get are telling my my subscription needs renewal.
I don’t and never used mcafee but they insist on sending spam/scam emails. Not a company to be trusted.
They autorenew my subscription month…
They autorenew my subscription month before it expires and i cannot even cancel it. Site and super unhelpfull bot tells me to call them well im trying so far 1 hour on the phone and no one picked up. F joke. Bot also told me that i can request refund on the stupid site- when managing my subscription- guess what- i click on it and it just tells me call them. Well maybe pick up the phone?? I am calling you.
Today €86 came out of my bank from…
Today €86 came out of my bank from mcafee this is an absolute scam I logged into my account to find that auto renewal is infact switched off and no options to remove my bank details or cancel without ringing them it also says on the account that 0 devices are being covered absolutely outrageous
