Paid 10,000 DKK for a Surface Pro…

Paid 10,000 DKK for a Surface Pro (through their own store - the Microsoft Store!!!!), which stopped working after 4 years (power supply stopped working or motherboard crashed idk..). After spending too much time finding a number I was told (by a kind customer supporter though) that they could do nothing for me. I didn't wanna write this, until I received 3 subsequent mails where they pushed me to buy a fresh one. for real?

Microsoft store is a wonderful example of how to not make a store

I love not being able to install any apps or game because of a bug that has existed for over 3 years now (Code: 0x80070005). Customer service is abysmal, you ask them for help and they don't ever respond.
I don't want to solve a riddle every time I have to install a game but that's what its like with these bugs, "Which fix will work this time! oh wait none of them"
Its like they want you to use Steam instead of this.

Cant uninstall games. Had to use Linux to do so

Cant uninstall games.

This has been an issue for 2 years on 2 separate installs of windows 10.

I uninstall the game, it appears in my library as not installed, yet all the files still exist in C:/Program Files/WindowsApps. I realised when my SSD was completely full.

Despite having an administartor account i cant delete the files manually.

I have tried a separate administrator account, safe mode, command prompt, power shell, following online guides, it seems that i do not have the permissions set, yet i do.

I have had to install Ubuntu Linux on my old SSD, i then deleted them with no problems.

This is completely unreasonable of microsoft to set such limitations.

Whilst i had Ubuntu installed i found it very easy to install Steam, Discord, and Nvidia drivers, then play 5 or 6 of my steam games with basicaly the same performance as Windows. I had to follow a 7 minute guide to figure it out.

I canceled game pass shortly after.

When Windows 10 reaches end of life I will be using Linux instead of windows 11.

Linux support for games is getting better all the time in recent years. The ubuntu company have recently recruited a team to improve games support.
Microsoft should do the same, they are in a prime position of having the dominant OS on PCs, yet cant get the most basic things working. I could go on and easily list dozens more things that make windows store very unpleasant to use.

What a truly a disaster I buy a pre order then the next day I checked as the day before it didn't have the box set so I ask for a refund they're did expect my request the next day I look and click it was nowhere to be seen tryed opening the film all it come with opis not working please buy this film so I got back in touch with them and told them the some issues with them I put in a request so many times and they're do not care about customer service at all

WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. I bought a surface laptop Pro, and I could not use it even 2 weeks, the computer was downloaded in less than 2 hours, I made a return and they sent me a new equipment that turned off in less than 10 minutes with the battery at 100%, not even connected to the charger worked. I made the return again and they returned the same equipment that is not functional because it simply turns off when I use it. I will have to buy a new computer, but I can say that I will NEVER compare anything related to this brand again, the support service is the worst, and I feel like they stole my money, it's been a fraud buy from Microsoft

I purchased a Razer Blade 15 with a GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card in November 2021 directly from the Microsoft store with the extended Performance Guard protection plan. In March 2022, water was accidentally spilled on the keyboard. I phoned Performance Guard, was sent a box to ship the device to their repair shop. Several weeks later I received an email indicating the device was fixed and was being returned. No shipping information sent, which seemed odd. Several days pasted, so I phoned. They apologized for the delay and indicated the unit will take up to two weeks to ship. I phone back the next day asking for a tracking and was told the unit could not be repaired with ZERO information on the details of the issues that are now unable to be resolved. I suspect they stripped the laptop for parts as the graphics card alone was worth more than the replacement at this point. The Performance Guard chat is worthless as invariably the original chat person/bot is disempowered to provide any meaningful support, as pleasant as their chat talk track algorithm allows. This means one must be Transferred in chat to another bot/person for escalation. This becomes an issue as then the chat window disappears, and further communication stops. Apparently there is a 'white house' button at the top, which is now not there, but required to shift over to the next person. That 'white house' button does not exist as one gets further down the chat tree. I then try to phone Microsoft back 888.270.8432. I speak with the person, they tell me they are unable to provide assistance and to phone 888.270.8432. I told her that is the number I phoned, so she agreed to Transfer me. Are you seeing the "Transfer" theme here. There is NO ONE to talk to who can provide specifics. Performance Guard is an insurance company, who I believes outsources it's repairs. As they offer a specialty line of insurance they are required to provide details on the repair issues they found. There is a disconnect between the repair arm and customer and Performance controls the communication, which is limited. Now, they did promptly send the refund check, but as soon as I sign the check I waive my rights as a consumer to get any further resolution. I phoned back and the only way to get the details is OVER the phone verbally, which will take 2 business days for them to compile or via chat, which does not work. They are sorry that chat doesn't work for "Me." This is the most ridiculous process ever. I am filing a complaint with the BBB with Performance Guard and Microsoft, and not signing the check until I am provided with more details on the issues in which the technician found. If they legitimately were unable to repair, why is this report data hidden from the consumer? Provide me with a report explaining the issues. If there was an issue with the graphics card, which is a higher value now, due to demand, are they not honoring their commitment to me, the consumer, and going the less expensive route by issuing me a check? Or, is the graphics card still functioning, along with any other components? I have no idea as no information was provided and I am forced to demand this information, which should be readily made available, so its CLEAR. Once again, I suspect it's due to some other hidden reason. My suggestion is to buy an Apple. I've have ZERO issues with my Mac's and only went with a PC due to this particular graphics card, which was more than likely removed and repurposed.

No refund when I ordered a memory card in good faith never received

I ordered a memory card in good faith. Never delivered. Spent many hours trying different numbers. Finally you call me to say that the item has been returned to the depot and not delivered but i should wait for a call to get a refund. Never received that call. Not received a refund. It’s been 9 months since i ordered and 6 months since you promised a refund. These are expensive . Please refund the money for an item i ordered in good faith from whom i thought was a reputable company, as you have no customer service infrastructure whatsoever - need real people not just BOTS ! Awful Developer Support

Awful developer support. Often ignore emails and questions raised in tickets. Have no accountability when raising complaints. Developer support is tedious and getting help with anything is near damn impossible. 5 months on and still no update or assistance. Closing tickets without consent. Wouldn't create anything for their store again.

Worst service ever encountered

Right now I'm 3h in and still haven't been able to install Minecraft that I PAID for. I still cannot play... Error here, error there. All with microsoft and their garbage services.
I earn cca 10€/h. You wasted 3h of my time BY YOUR INCOPETENCE. Thats 30€ all together. Minecraft costs 20€. You should be GIVING me the game and yet I wouldn't take it considering the time wasted!

Absolutely rubbish

Absolutely rubbish - I placed an order for an expensive Surface laptop which wasn't delivered (although as usual DPD claimed it was signed for by "Justin") and when I tried to get a refund I was given the runaround. Of course, even though it is a "UK" site the agents are only available on US time, so I have to wait once again to try and sort this mess out.

Microsoft - worse customer care and poor quality product ( surface laptop 3)

I bought 2 surface 3 microsoft laptops and they were working fine initially.Then the charger of one laptop stopped working and the tracked and then the keyboard on the other laptop stopped working.These laptops were around £1000 each and am stunned this has happened within a few years of buying them.My old Hewlett Packard I've had for over 15 years has lasted for much longer.Their support facility is awful ! I've been communicating with Microsoft support since March ( so nearly 2 months) and they are just useless.Nor resolved anything.Will never buy anything from Microsoft again and wi suggest no others do either as its just so much hassle dealing with them.Off to replace 2 laptops less than 2 years old for more durable laptops ie Hewlett Packard from.John Lewis and reputable store !

On March 28th I ordered a customized controller that was supposed to be purple and it was a darker pink front front and when I received the controller controller it was all purple I don't know why it defaulted to purple because that's not what was in my cart I called and talk to someone in xbox and they said were gonna escalate my case and i was on the phone for an hour and 15 minutes then it hung up I tried to call again and talk to somebody and they said yes it's been escalated and I said well I have got an email because I'm supposed to send photos So she was gonna redo it and it hangs up on me again I paid $70 for a controller that was all one color if I wanted a solid color controller I would not have spent $70 when I spoke to the representative who was escalating my case she said she had a similar problem and escalated it had me on hold for about 25 minutes and then hangs up I'm not asking for a refund and I understand but it's not controlled that I wanted So I'm not happy spending $70 on an purple controller when it was supposed to be completely different they said that they were escalating it and I don't know what's going on now got hung up and now I can't reach anybody because they want me to go online and when I try to get somebody to call me there's an error so what do you want me to do with this controller because I'm not happy this was a birthday present from my child that is now ruined now ruined hes not happy off hes spent $70 on a controller that wasn't the one that I had Sat there and customized I will include pictures of the solid color and pictures of what it was supposed to look like and if that's how your customer service is that after it hangs up and Noone calls my problem is not rectified

Absolutely avoid like wildfire

Absolutely avoid like wildfire, bought a surface pro 2 yrs ago for £1200, it’s a few months out of warranty and the battery completely dies, won’t switch on at all. After spending 4 hours trying to get through to someone on the phone, I was told I would have to pay for them to replace it. This is clearly a hardware issue, and I do not feel I have been unreasonable to expect a £1200 device to last more than 2 years. I have attempted to lodge a complaint and have been completely ignored, no response received to several emails over the last few weeks and no one has even been able to give me details on their complaints process. Save yourself the hassle and buy a mac!

buy mobile games on ur pc for money ?!! worst store i have ever seen.

I don't understand why I'm on PC and getting mixed games and apps for PC and phone in one store. Is Microsoft really that bad that they cant make their store "related" to the device u looking at it on? Like i don't want to see games for PC when i go in store on my phone same is with PC. i don't want to see some rubbish ass games for phone that are actually even payed !!! at this time games like they have on the store for actual money are not even worth this bad review to be honest. Please do something u look like a joke to everyone who did see literally any other type of "virtual online store" as Steam or Google play ETC. u guys are the worst of worst in this case of how ur funny little store works. i was about to find some games i want to buy/play and i just cant take that u keep showing me crappy games for phone that , looks like games i played 15 years ago on my first android phone and dare to ask money for that. I fell that there is no quality check before u decide to publish the games/apps on ur platform witch makes u look unprofessional af.... WAKE UP!

I purchased an LG laptop from the…

I purchased an LG laptop from the microsoft store a few days ago but I was unable to add the performance guard warranty to my order through their online store. I called the 800 number and was told that they had a known issue with their online store. I was told that I could call the 800 number when I received the laptop and give them the serial number of the laptop and add the performance guard warranty then.

Fast forward to today... I received the laptop and called the 800 number. I was told that they could not add the warranty after the sale, but only at the time of sale! I talked to several people and was put on hold several times, disconnected, and then told that there was nothing they could do. No solution was offered to me at all. I was told that was the policy and there was nothing I could do!

Terrible experience. I will never use the Microsoft Store ever again.

Incredibly disappointed with service

Can't believe the nefariousness of Microsoft. I transferred my son's birthday money so he could buy a new version of Minecraft only to find out after a longwinded search that this particular one (Java) had to be purchased externally. I immediately called and was told I could have a refund by contacting Xbox returns via email. A curt reply stated this purchase was ineligible for a refund.

I called again and was assured a refund would be possible if I emailed again however Xbox have not replied to any subsequent emails.

I called again today.. this time they said they'd transfer me to Xbox - and cut me off! Prior to being disconnected I was told my purchase of a 'gift balance' was unlikely to be refunded due to it having been redeemed. I assured them it hadn't been.. however in this case 'redeemed' apparently means merely showing in my child's account.

I'm really gutted. My child has lost a substantial amount of his birthday money and I have lost an inordinate amount of time trying to get it back.

I would urge users to use the Microsoft store with caution.

Worst customer service I have EVER experienced!

I just experienced customer service at its absolute worst! Seriously, I honestly have never been treated the way the Microsoft Store just treated me by any other company I've done business with. I wish I could have rated them a 0 out of 5.

I recently made a $600+ purchase through their online store. I have been saving up gift cards for years to purchase the latest gaming console so that was my primary method of payment. However, the total came to a bit more (around $35) than I had in gift cards so I had to add my credit card as a secondary payment method to cover the difference. When I completed my order, Microsoft proceeded to bill my credit card for almost the full amount, only billing around $40 to my massive gift card balance.

The day I made the order, I contacted their Support group and was told that it was just a temporary hold on my credit card. They assured me that, when the order shipped, it would be billed against my gift card balance and that the hold on my card would be lifted. However, that was a lie. The charge on my card did go through.

I contacted their Support group again and was told that their level 1 desk couldn't handle the resolution to my billing error. They escalated my issue to their 2nd level Support desk and I was told that I would hear back from them via e-mail within 8-10 business days. Now... that in and of itself is an issue. This was a billing error on their end and my credit card was charged around $600 when it shouldn't have been. The fact that an error like this couldn't be reversed by their 1st level Support desk immediately is simply unacceptable. Any other company would have bent over backwards to quickly resolve an error like this.

So I patiently waited... and waited... and waited. A month later, with still no reply, I contacted their Support team again. The first person I spoke with acknowledged the problem, told me there had been no activity on my case and put me on hold while they "checked to see if there was someone I could speak with at their 2nd level desk". After 15-20 minutes on hold, they hung up on me.

So I called back. This time, the agent told me that my case had been denied by 2nd level Support. So one of the two agents I spoke with flat out lied to me. Again, this is an error in billing on their end that I'm dealing with here. How can they deny to fix it??! I again explained that this was unacceptable. The agent then proceeded to tell me that there was nothing else that could be done. He told me if he escalated the case again it would just be denied and that I shouldn't waste my time. He said this happens all the time where customers make mistakes when placing their orders but that once an order goes through, there's nothing they can do. Unbelievable! I didn't make a mistake. They asked me for a secondary payment method because I couldn't cover the full purchase price with my gift card balance. Obviously, that doesn't mean I don't want them to use the full gift card balance first. The agent I was speaking with was SOOO condescending and simply refused to fix the problem, making it seem like the problem was caused by me. Then, when hanging up they proceeded to tell me to have a wonderful rest of my day and thank you for calling Microsoft Support.

This entire experience has been surreal at best. I've worked many years in retail management so I know what good and bad customer service is and how things should be handled. I've been a supporter of Microsoft products for decades, having been an advocate for them to my customers over their competitors when working in Gamestop management ever since the first Xbox launched. This experience absolutely floored me!

So I now have an almost $600 gift card balance, some of which has to be used within 60 days due to it being promotional in nature, and am out that same amount in cash with no recourse. Suffice it to say that my next console will be a Sony or Nintendo product lol. This has been the very definition of how not to treat your customers.
