Great company, super service.

Have just completed my sixth trade with MPB, to my utmost satisfaction.The staff are friendly, helpful and knowlegable and the process simple. They have always been fair with me over prices and have twice increased their valuation over initial quotes. I had a query on my last deal which was quickly resolved by my contact Sam in a kindly efficient way.
I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Do NOT do business with them

Do NOT do business with them, or at least not to sell your gear.
I went with them in the first place because they offered the most money for my equipment, so that was great! Everything went downhill from there.
It says in the quote if you provide xyz you’ll get more money. Such as camera straps, which I provided. I had also included a camera bag and SD cards as extras (my mistake). When given the quote to buy my gear, none of the extras were mentioned. I immediately sent a message about it and was told a request would be put in and that I’d hear back by the end of day… did not hear back. Had to message again the next day to be told they wouldn’t be purchasing any of the extras and asked if I wanted it returned …..? Obviously if you aren’t buying it then send it back to me.
During this whole process, it took the following day to get any answers and I had to be the one to message them every time.
When I finally received my *first* package back, the camera case and SD cards, they weren’t even my original SD cards. Also didn’t include my camera straps or last card back.
THEN when I FINALLY receive those items back, it wasn’t even the correct neck straps either!!
So if you sell to them and there’s a possibility of gear being sent back to you, GOODLUCK! It likely won’t be your actual, pristine gear that you sent in the first place.
And being paid took over a week and constantly checking in to see how long it would take. So, seller beware.

Easy, fair, quick.

Asked for a quote and received it very quickly. It was acceptable bearing in mind it was the actual amount of money I would receive. No fee's payable. No postage to pay. Equipment is picked up and insured by MPB and their couriers. Once the equipment was checked by them I received an amended quotation. The price offered had actually gone up as they said it was in better condition than i stated. Very fair and this wasn't a one off I have sold to MPB before and the same thing has happened. I would definitely give them a try. Recommended.

Beware when selling photography gear to…

Beware when selling photography gear to MPB.

Once MPB have your stuff, they'll invent FALSE IMAGINARY MADE UP reasons to reduce the initial online quote. They'll then ignore emails until AFTER the reduced quote has been accepted.

Go to Wex Photo Video instead.

Don't say you wasn't warned.

Amazing service. Will use again

Ordering was simple. Products worked perfectly and look exactly like the pictures shown. Customer service was amazing, they were efficient and didn't waste any time getting my issue sorted. Big thank you to José who I was in contact with.

Incredibly misleading company

Incredibly misleading company. Their cameras are so overpriced, that I thought the USD cost was CAD (considering I set my region to canada too). So what shouldve been a 380$ camera was almost 600$, and they wont let me cancel my order.

On top of that, to refund it you need to pay the shipping costs, so Id still be out well over 140$, making it not worth getting it from ebay instead.

Overall: Its incredibly overpriced and made to lock you in so youre completely screwed and helpless. Avoid it unless you know what youre paying for.

I really appreciate that MPB gives…

I really appreciate that MPB gives images of the exact listed item. The lenses I purchased were very well-packaged and in excellent condition. For a while, it seemed like they were never going to ship, which is the only thing keeping it from being a 5-star experience. I would recommend MPB.

Trustworthy

Poor warranty process

I have ordered from this company before and the items have been fine although recently I have had a rather poor experience regarding a warranty claim on a lens.

I purchased a Lumix 45-150 lens which worked fine at first. After around a month, it had developed an issue where it wouldn't focus on far objects at 45mm on any of my M4/3 cameras in any focus mode (including manual focus). So, I submitted a warranty claim and sent in my lens.

The warranty process took several weeks (despite them claiming a 2-3 day wait) and, once they finally got back to me, they denied the warranty claim. I had provided clear video evidence of the issue on multiple cameras and described how the issue could be replicated.

Now that I have got the lens back, I can confirm that the focus issue is indeed still present. I'm not sure what their testing process is exactly but it doesn't seem to be very thorough as the issue presents itself very obviously most of the time, although occasionally it will be fine until I zoom in and out again. I have found out that the focus issue was likely caused by a faulty ribbon cable, a common occurrence on older lenses like these.

Overall, I just cannot recommend you shop here when there are so many other online shops selling used camera gear with much better warranty and returns processes in case something goes wrong.

Update: I have since re-contacted MPB and will change my review if the issue is resolved.
