Never going back
I have been going to the Slacks Creek MSY for over 15 years. Service was average but prices were good. I had allways manage to return for replacement or refund if something was faulty. I bought a keyboard yesterday abd it turned out to be faulty. He tested it and agreed it was faulty then told me he is sending it back and I would need to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a refund. I told him under Australian consumer law that that is not legal but they said it was. I was going to buy 2 more keyboard and have the refund taken out of it but he could not do that. Prices online are different when you go to the store. I walked out and will contact fair trading regarding the matte.

Anniversary Special apparently. 12% off wifi adapters. So I went to the store to make purchase. They said online special only. "Nowhere did it say online only".
They charge me extra 100%. Big scam. Next time be prepared to walk out of the shop.

MSY used to be my favorite store to buy computer parts, laptops … we used to spend thousands of dollars every year. This Chinese corporation used to make in Australia fortune of our hard earnd Australian money. Recent economy events, recession and other factors made this corporation to collapse. It seems every recent order I used to make, it looks like I made my payment to other corporation name UMART.
Recently their website looked like Umart, all the deliveries came with labels from UMART…
TO MY HORROR, MSY WAS NOW UMART… !!!!
Although, all my desperate letters and emails to MSY had no response…. I asked myself, what happened TO MSY? ESPECIALLY AS A VERY LOYAL CLIENT FOR MANY YEARS ????!!!!
Few weeks passed, I even tried to buy online and pickup from store from slacks creek branch in QLD, I couldn’t make pay cash on pickup Anymore…... I went to the branch to buy parts, and asked to pay with cash, they wouldn’t let me pay in cash, as the manager said is the management policy… I wounder which management was it ? UMART ? OR MSY ???

Ripped me off over $500, refuse warranties, worst customer service.
Over many years I spent TENS of thousands from this company and bought hundreds of products over years.
After about the FIFTH refusal of warranty for various items (out of 8 total, so just 3 successful replacements for warranty but did not even bother wasting my time for several cheap items) for illegal reasons such as "Not in the box", "A cable is missing" and latest example is a faulty graphics card which was returned TWICE faulty after first waiting 3 weeks and then next another 3 months "getting repaired" and then still did not work.
When I tried to return the ASUS graphics card a few weeks later for a third time I was told it only has one year warranty and tough luck, cannot help me. This is another lie as the product website says 3 years warranty.
You have ripped me off now over $500 over the years and that is my limit, you lost a customer for good and gained this review!
MSY was fined $750,000 by the ACCC in 2017 for deceptive warranty practices, in addition to their previous fine of $203,500 in 2011. Just search for "ACCC fine MSY".
They still do not care and are willing to keep ripping off customers to this day.
They NEVER pick up the phone, do not reply to emails, do not attend the live chat, items "In Stock" on their website are often not in stock, and you can easily line up for 30-60 minutes each time you visit their shop that looks like a war zone!
Staff are unpleasant and I have never experienced such bad customer service anywhere else in my life.
You think you might save $10 on an item but you will loose $100s when they decline your warranty or have to send it overseas to the manufacturer at your cost.
If you have ANY problem I suggest you go straight to your state government consumer affairs and ACCC ASAP to make a claim after they deny your return.

A company gone bad
A company gone bad, Have used the online service for a couple of years which has been an ok experience, but from September last year their service has turned to sh-t, Like everyone else have had bad experience with their customer service, no one answers the phones, the live chat is not live anymore and emails go unanswered for days to weeks. Have had wrong item sent the last 2 orders (in a row) still waiting on them to come back with a solution. This is what started happening years ago when they were investigated by “Fair Trades” and got massive fines, if they are not careful it may happen again.

I can only agree with the other negative reviews here. Have been a long time customer of MSY in Adelaide and have had no problems in the past. Recently, I recently placed an order online (for the first time) with goods to be shipped from Victoria. Similar to others, I was unable to speak to someone by phone, no reply to emails, and live chat not working. I put it down to excessive demand associated with Covid19 (lots of students and workers needing equipment to work from home maybe?) so I placed my order and waited to hear about delivery. Fortunately, I didn't wait as long as others have been kept waiting before following up, although I was left hanging on the online "Live Support" chat for over 2 hrs until I finally gave up. Don't believe it.. there is nothing "live" about that chat line! I was reluctant to post a review.. thinking that maybe they have personal difficulties in their life, maybe Covid19 related? But, if I hadn't had previous positive experience with MSY, I wouldn't have been caught out this time. I would have looked for reviews online and appreciated those left by others here.

Took 13 days to decide not to fulfil my order
I ordered and paid for a motherboard with MSY online on 11/12. After not hearing anything for a week, I emailed on the 18th. On the 19th I got an email stating:
"Dear Customer,
We apologise for the delay on your order, please note we are currently waiting for stock transfer to arrive.
The order will most likely to dispatch within today or tomorrow.
If you are not happy to wait, we are able to provide you with a full refund
We apologise again for the inconvenience caused."
Today, on the 19th, I got a call saying that the stock was incorrectly advertised and that MSY would not fulfil the order. They have offered to refund me my payment which they say I will receive in 2 to 3 days. I can appreciate having listed it incorrectly and notifying me within a day or two of ordering and paying. Instead, after my follow up and their response confirming that the product would be dispatched, only then did they discover the issue. Very disorganised and unprofessional.
Impossible to contact anyone!
I have emailed, called numerous times, waited on 'Live Support' over half an hour, left messages, and all with zero response. It is impossible to get to speak to anyone. Appalling service!

Horrible customer service experience. I went to MSY Kingsford store to buy 5X MSATA SDD enclosures as thought I'd save myself postage cost from purchasing from a competitor.
I was flabbergasted at the incredible lack of customer service from the lone person in the store. After entering the store which seemingly had no one in it, waiting for a minute and then suddenly someone appeared.
Me: Hello, how are you?
Unhappy worker: Silence
Me: I'm good, how about you?
Unhappy worker: Grunts and projects glare of death.
Me: Ok, I'm after some MSATA SDD enclosures which you have listed on your website.
Unhappy worker: tut-tut sigh then reluctantly looks through stock.
At this point I wanted to give him MSY's reference code but could see I've obviously offended him. After 2 minutes of the most laziest effort to find it, he dumps me an M.2 SDD enclosure.
Me: This is for an M.2 SDD.
Unhappy worker: Well that's all we got he barks at me
Me: Ok, thanks!
I heard many complaints about MSY's lack of customer service but had to experience it firsthand myself. It's never good practice to put people who have no emotion range to display empathy or willingness to help people in customer-facing roles.
Needless to say I was angry enough to lodge this review and know full well any minimal price saving is not worth dealing with such bad service.

When I placed my $4,600 order from their warehouse in my city I was never told how long it would take for it to arrive at my doorstep. After they gladly took my money they told me it would take 4-8 days to arrive in my receipt they sent to my email.
I was floored.
Since then I've been trying to contact them to allow me to pick up the order for their warehouse myself. I told them I wasn't looking to get a refund for the handling charge they placed or a discount on anything.
I just wanted my products. I was repeatedly told I would have to speak to them via E-mail about this and that there was nothing they could do over the phone. I informed her that I had in fact e-mail them two days prior with no response.
I asked to speak to a manager. Whomever was on the line said "I'll transfer you" and then hung up. This was the third time I had been hung up on.
My most recent call with them has revealed that before it is even dispatched from their warehouse it will be 5-7 days. That isn't shipping, that is just before it leaves the warehouse.
The customer service i have received has been unacceptable and the amount of time it is taking to receive my products is unacceptable.
