Nationwide Repairs Thetford give…

Nationwide Repairs Thetford give erroneous information regarding car repair - stated AXA would only appoint them for repairs. Also stated they did not provide a free quotation unless and until they had been given the go-ahead to carry out the repair. This would seem to undermine every trading standard agreement. Avoid at all costs.

I had to have a new windscreen fitted…

I had to have a new windscreen fitted to my car in September . I thought everything was fine until I heard wind blowing in the car when I was driving.
They came back out and it turned out the fitter had not sealed the window , you could push the windscreen and see it lift out. This meant water had leaked into the footwells , the carpets were soaking wet. I had to have another windscreen and they promised a valet , up to £25. It took nearly two months to get the valet and the guy who came thinks I should get the windscreen checked as he doesn't think it's fitted correctly.
They promise to call the next day and they never do .I would not use this company again even if the insurance company tells me to.

My Renault had an argument with a bollard

My Renault had an argument with a bollard in a car park and needed a new wing and a new door mirror. The door mirror from Renault would cost £342 before painting and fitting so I knew this would be an insurance job. Contacted my insurer who said I should use Nationwide repairs Weybridge. I contacted Weybridge 31/10/18 and they said earliest date 28th November. I went back to my insurer and they said try Sutton branch. Contacted Sutton and they said we can pick the car up the next day Thursday. Today, Wednesday 7th November the guys at Sutton returned my car looking in great condition, everything repaired and the interior as clean as it has ever been. My thanks to Steve West and his team for a quick and efficient service. Before using NRC I did look for reviews on the internet. The Review Centre site has 5000 + reviews for NRC with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5. Trustpilot has 93 reviews with a score of 1.5 out of 10. Looks like my experience is contrary to what I might have expected from the Trustpilot reviews. Strange ???

Nationwide thurrock

UPDATE: Finally mistake was rectified and resolved. Car was cleaned and a member of staff was happy to provide me with all the details and paperwork so that I could caim my excess back. Finally happy :-)

Nationwide thurrock - My insurance recommended this garage, rear side bumper damaged due to non fault accident, Car picked up by 2 men who reassured me and promised car will be well looked after, cleaned etc..I decided to give Nationwide 2 stars only because they allowed me extra time to pay the excess which is £1100, I've just had a funeral to pay for a month before the accident and financially was not stable. The total repair was £1003.26, Although accident is defended by my insurance and solicitors with evidence of accident, I have had to pay this excess until third party admits liability as its currently being disputed, I've been told that i will be getting this money back from third party although is a long wait before that happens.

I've been told few different figures before repair has been completed, I don't think damage was worth this amount because different figure were mentioned that were more reasonable. They repaired the same bumper because apparently my insurance company didn't allow them to put a brand new one. Upon return of my car, there are bubbles (likes car scratches and paint lifted) to the upper bumper just below number plates, and I've been told this was due to previous damage on the bumper which doesn't make any sense.
I have photos prior to the car being taken away, during repairs to prove this and now waiting to see what will happen in regards to this.
Very disappointed, car worth over 12k, being treated as if its worth £100. Will file a complaint if it doesn't get rectified. .

Terrible customer service - Nationwide, Oxford

I recently hit a fox on the M40 and as I was travelling to Oxford for a few days I asked that my vehicle be recovered to Nationwide at Oxford (preferred repairer for RSA) as there was a guarantee of a courtesy car. It took about 3 hours for the referral to reach the branch and they rang me at 5.35pm asking where I was as they finished at 5.30pm. The woman then realised that my home address was Surrey and said 'we can't accept your car.' At that point, I was about 2 mins away from the place and was less than happy. She was abrupt and discourteous. I had to ask her to let me speak so that I could explain that I wasn't expecting them to return my repaired vehicle to Surrey as I was in the area for a little while. When the recovery truck reached the place the gates were shut and I had to open them to get to the office. I also noted the sign outside stated open 09.00am to 6.00pm (not 5.30!). They took my car and although the sheet I signed said to remove all personal items this was tough to do as I had several bags and cases. I removed as much as possible but saw my parking change and decided to leave it and close the slot. About 36 hours later they had done an estimate and as the repairs weren't going to be done for around 10 days I said I would collect the car which had been made safe to drive (loose panel taped up) and the work could be transferred to somewhere nearer home. When I collected my car I found to my horror that the parking money had been stolen. I spoke to the manager who said they didn't have a problem with theft. I corrected him! He apologised and gave me some money to replace it and said he would investigate it further but this is still wholly unacceptable. We trust these people with our cars and they can't resist stealing ! Even if it's just one person, how do you know it's not the person with access to your car?
Luckily no-one from Nationwide in Surrey contacted me, so I sought out another approved repairer to do the work. A lucky escape I think !

Terrible garage

I am a company owner with a small fleet of vans. one of the vans was involved in an incident and was badly damaged which caused the left side and the read of the van to be damaged. i was instructed by my insurance company to take it to Nationwide for the repairs. After 2 months of waiting and chasing the van finally came back without the rear doors being repaired and when questioned i was told the rear door damage was not caused by the accident!!!! The van was 3 moths old and had no previous damage!! in the end my insurance company instructed an independent assessor who agreed the damage is part of the original accident and needed to be repaired. Im still waiting for the van to come back!!!!! the original accident happen in June 2018!

Absolutely awful service

Absolutely awful service. Took forever to fix our car... Was sitting there ages before they could even be bothered to look at it. Missed it's MOT deadline because they were so shockingly slow so now (when I finally get my car back) it will be illegal to actually drive it. Always told different things when we called... It will take 2 days for a part to arrive, then 4 days, the 5 days, then we were told 10 days?!?! Courtesy car useless... Cannot fit a pram in the boot and has cost us hundreds of pounds EXTRA in fuel compared to our normal car. Company couldn't care less.

Will be complaining to my insurance company so hopefully they switch providers. In the meantime, I just want my (illegal to drive!) Car back!!!

Not a good experience

Not a good experience. When you ring them they say they will call back and they never do.

They rarely reply to emails.

They took 5 weeks to repair my car, quoting initially 2 weeks.

Delays in getting refunds for parts under guarentee was over 2 months (update: 69 days). I made over 10 phone calls and around 10 email. In the end I complained.

A Better Experience Than Most

In total contrast to the extremely high number of very critical reviews of this company,my experience has been, mainly, very favourable. My only issue was that they had my car for 4 weeks before starting the repair, even though i was getting regular updates telling me that the parts were on site and the job was in progress. When I was eventually informed that due to workload they hadn't even started the repair I was extremely annoyed and complained to my insurers who told me they would get Nationwide complaints department to call me,which they didn't.
That issue together with the poor reviews made me extremely concerned about what state my car would be in when I eventually got it back.
However, after 7 1/2 weeks, when the car was returned, it had been repaired to a very good standard. The doors were aligned properly, the paintwork was done well and it had been cleaned inside and out.
Overall I am more than happy with the end result. It's a big shame that they had to be dishonest regarding the progress of the job, otherwise I would have rated them higher.

My car was involved in a hit and run…

My car was involved in a hit and run and my insurance company ( RSA) sent my car to this company in Middlesbrough, well what can I say AVOID this company at all costs. The so called mechanic broke my reversing sensors when they were in perfect working order. They fitted new one's that didn't work at all, they took the vehicle back and now they work intermittent, they are garbage they must have bought them for around £2 from a dodgy trader. My insurance company up to now are garbage (RSA).
My original sensors were brill and I've been lumbered with cheap crap. No customer services at all I would give them -10 if I could, also when they collected my vehicle they drove it to their garage stating they would replace the petrol, I don't know who's car they put it in but it wasn't mine, they also charge your insurance for collection/return of this car which inurn will mean you will pay for it upon renewal MAKE sure you check your car if they go to this garage before you pay them the excess I wish I had. They may have repaired it properly

My insurer put my car into Nationwide…

My insurer put my car into Nationwide for repair after a neighbour kindly raked their car down the side of mine. It is a 2 year old golf R and it was a simple single scratch line down the length of the car and also damage to the wing mirror. When returned the full length of the car had orange peel paint. This despite the label proudly claiming the repair had undergone checking and was fit for purpose. Put the car back in to get the peel polished out, came back only the doors had been polished. Back in a third time and now the skirt is scratched from the polishing wheel. At time of writing the car requires a fourth trip to Nationwide to put right. What a joke, this company do not care other than numbers of cars through the door to keep the money rolling in. As for the wing mirror damage, the jury is out as to whether this has been repaired satisfactorily it does not seem so.

Just a light warning...

I'm giving them 3 stars because of the amount of personal chasing I've had to do. Apart from that it's been a pleasant experience. When I heard my car was going to Nationwide Repairs because it was my insurances approved repair center I jumped straight on Google and wanted to read the reviews. All I found was 1-2 star reviews and a lot of pure negativity.

I do understand why but they're still doing their job. My reasons for giving 3 stars is because most of the time; i'd say 90% of the time I have had to chase them up about progress on my car. Which did take 2 months bare in mind.

I was forwarded to the Warwick branch, they were a great bunch, helpful, informative and broke down everything for me. Also answered all the questions I had. Because it took way too long I was given a tank of fuel for free!

All in all I wouldn't fault the work they done. It was immaculate and couldn't have been done any better. My ratings would be:

Work carried out: 9.5/10
Communication: 4/10
Response times: 6/10

Liars

I was forced to take my car there by my insurance company to have a tiny dent and scratches removed, insurance said 7 days start to finish.
After nearly a week I chased Nationwide up only to be told my insurance hadn’t given them the ok, I spoke to the insurance company and was informed that due to my car being a track car with performance engine modifications my insurance was going to be cancelled, I had to fight Nationwide to get them to change their report, their mechanic (loosest term) saw a aftermarket water cooler cap and from that made this ridiculous assumption. It took threatening to sue the individual mechanic personally for them to back down, three weeks later my car was returned with filthy oil on the steering wheel seats and with two broken interior catches. Never again!!!

No Star No communication No customer service

1 star is the minimum, because they are not even worthy of the one star. Rude staff, no communication and unfortunately this is from call centre, garage to regional director.
Despite numerous promises to call us, they failed, even the regional director failed to make a call as promised.
It appears now they have had the excess payment they really don't care. Repairs not 100% and we have been forced to go to formal complaint through our insurance to get a response. Phones are rarely answered and the answer machine service is unprofessional and not what you would expect from a company with a nationwide presence. Communication does not exist. This is not the first bad experience we have had with this company and i urge people to avoid at all costs.
