Honestly these guys feel like cowboys. They constantly suggested they might put fake charges on my account for fake damage, and that they were "letting me off", while in addition having absurdly large... See more

Scam and fake damage charges.
The salesperson pressured us to purchase their insurance and warned us of charges should we not. When we returned the car, the woman searched until she found a minor mark and charged us 440 euros. This was obviously the plan all along. Terrible.
Ended up paying €460 instead of €80
Last week my family went to Malaga and was offered to rent a car at Nizacars through Ryanair. It was only €80 for a week, which seemed like a good deal.
Upon arriving at the Nizacars’ office after a long flight, we were told we didn’t have the correct form of card for payment. We had a debit card and not a credit card. I realized I did receive an email about this, so that part is my fault. So far, so good.
However, since we didn’t have the correct card type, our initial payment was then gone for some reason. Then we were offered to hire a car under other terms, but now the cost was €380, non-negotiable. The reason that it had to be a lot more expensive with the other card type was not explained. We were tired, stranded in the Nizacars’ office away from the airport, and needed a car to get to our hotel, and didn’t see any other choice than accepting that offer.
It was clear to us that even in the short time we spent at their office, several other groups of tourists were taken through a parallel process and ended up having to pay a lot more than initially advised because of having the wrong type of card. Since Nizacars do advise about the card type in the information mail, on paper you can’t accuse them of scamming, but it’s very clear that they use this as a conscious strategy to lure people in with reasonable prices and then press people for a lot more money.
The car was fine, the staff was polite and we had no troubles with the car or returning it. But we do think it’s a scam keeping our initial money, and then offering a price that’s almost 5 times as high to people who don’t have an alternative. We ended up paying almost 6 times as much as we thought, which made the rest of our trip significantly worse, since we had less money to enjoy our vacation.
All in all, I would never consider Nizacars again and have to warn everybody against this firm.
Very bad experience
30-minute wait despite confirmed booking
Aggressive upselling - staff falsely claimed our Ryanair insurance was inadequate
Excessive €1,500 deposit blocked on credit card
Received downgraded vehicle - paid for Nissan Qashqai (C-segment), given Skoda Kamiq (B-segment), which is smaller. No compensation offered.
Vehicle covered in scratches (documented with photos)
Zero handover information - no explanation about fuel type, emergency numbers, or vehicle features
Car not provided with full tank (only 2/3 full), but booking terms require full-to-full fuel policy. We returned it full as required. Staff dismissed our complaint saying we "should have checked"
We paid for fuel we never received and got a smaller car than booked. Nizacars' practices appear deliberately deceptive.
Never ever ever use this company
Never ever ever use this company. They take sooooooooooo long to check out each car. It's because they are trying to sell pointless insurance. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Very friendly and fast
We booked a car very last minute this morning. The shuttle from the airport in Mallorca worked perfectly, Victoria was really kind and funny.
The car rental was easy and fast. Thanks to faviana for that!
I have used Niza cars for nearly 25…
I have used Niza cars for nearly 25 years and they are always great. Every time I visit , the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The cars are good value too. This time Borja and Dani looked after me superbly. Highly recommended from someone that visits his home in Marbella half a dozen times a year for 25 years.
I would strongly advise not to use
I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious when renting from Nizacars at Malaga Airport.
I rented a vehicle from 5–7 March (ref: ES 000783011). At return, I clearly discussed a very minor mark on the windscreen with the attendant, and we explicitly agreed it would not be treated as chargeable damage. Despite this, I was later charged over £700 without any notification or authorisation.
This is completely unacceptable. The mark was insignificant, not noticed during the rental, and nowhere near justifying such an excessive charge. More concerning is that an agreement made in person at handover appears to have been ignored entirely.
Had I been told this would result in a charge, I would have discussed it & formally disputed on the spot. Instead, the charge was applied afterwards with no transparency.
I have contacted customer service and am STILL seeking a refund.
What started as a positive rental experience has been completely overshadowed by this. Based on this experience, I would not trust this company full stop or its damage assessment or billing practices.
SCAM! Avoid at all costs!
Worst customer service, will rip you off! Avoid like the plague on Malaga tourism this company is!
f I could give this place negative stars, I would. Avoid at all costs as they are running a dishonest business. First, the employees at the location are rude, entitled, and clearly have a dislike for foreigners - which is interesting since travellers make up probably 95% of their business. They don't care; they are condescending, rude, and misleading.
They push their scam of an insurance, and if you, like so many others, want to use your own / credit card insurance get ready to pay. They will make up fake damage, and charge whatever they feel like. When you ask for an itemised list of the damage, they ignore you.
Their customer service will come on here and respond, pretending they will make things right - but they do not! I was charged £615 for 2 tiny scratches, one was just out of an angle of my many photos - convenient, but my mistake. The other, I clearly sent a picture of the scratch that was EXISTING when I picked up the car, and they've just gone silent. No response, no acknowledgement. They just straight up steal your money.
Avoid at all costs. And if you've had the misfortune of renting here, as to complete a formal complaint document - ask for the book. They don't tell visitors about it, but maybe if enough people complain and the business association of Malaga realised how terrible this business is for tourism, this scam of a company can be put out of business as they deserve.
SCAM COMPANY
SCAM COMPANY! Misleading charges, rude staff, insurance pressure, and wrong car
My experience with NizaCars was extremely bad from the very beginning.
At pickup, the saleswoman was rude and unfriendly right away (they have a huge sign "treat us with respect" which tells you a lot already; you don't put that sign if you treat other people properly). She told me I would be charged 150 EUR unless I bought their insurance, even though I already had coverage through the booking platform. She also openly said that the platform’s insurance was useless.
They claimed the fuel policy was “Full to Refill,” despite my booking clearly stating “Full to Full.” I was forced to pay the 150 EUR.
Later, when I checked the rental agreement more carefully, I discovered that this amount was actually a 30 EUR “Refuelling Fee”, and the remaining 120 EUR was just a deposit returned when the car was brought back full. This “refueling fee” is charged regardless of whether you return the car with a full tank and is not clearly explained upfront. This feels very misleading and dishonest.
On top of that, I booked a Volkswagen T-Roc but was given a Skoda Kamiq instead. When I questioned this, the staff blamed the booking platform and told me that the T-Roc is a higher class car and I was not entitled to it. No solution, no apology.
Overall, this rental felt like a trap designed to extract extra money through hidden fees, pressure selling, and unclear terms. Rude staff, misleading policies, and not receiving the booked car made this a very stressful experience. I strongly recommend avoiding NizaCars.

I travel to Malaga regularly now and later used other services (e.g. MalagaCar) and they are much better. They don't treat you so bad.
EDIT: They sent me a fine to pay now and charged 30 EURO processing fee. It's getting crazier and crazier with them. NEVER USE THIS SCAM
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Horrible experience, we rented a car for two weeks. When returning the car they blamed us for some scratches (we made zero damage to the car). They demanded us to pay a fine of almost 700 euro, absolute scammers. Rent somewhere else and avoid this shady business
Scamers
Nizacars, you are scammers. Saying "all good" when returning car and then charging me 320 eur for something and then not replying emails! Shame on you
Avoid like the plague
I hired the rental car for 31 days.
It took 45 minutes from start to finish booking in at Niza Cars. A hard sale on the insurance, reminiscent of the Time Share guys 30 years ago.
I expected a VW Polo, but was given a Skoda Fabia ( a massively underpowered car, but apparently in the same category as the VW). The representative took out several sets of keys, but chose the Skoda (I think he was niffed because I didn't take the insurance).
On return, another 45 minutes taken for admin and a further 20 minutes to wait for the bus.
The lady responsible for "checking out" was very dour and went over each car with a fine tooth comb looking for damages. Queried existing damages and asked for photographs as evidence of previous damage.
I wont be using them again and would strongly advise readers to avoid Niza.
Poor customer service, poor damaged rental cars and poor transfers to the airport.
Worst service in my life - rude and fraudulent
I have received the worst service in my life at Niza Cars Rental - upon return the behavior of stuff, collecting the vehicle, was extremely unprofessional and fraudulent. I was charged 720 eu for damage I have not made, and the clerk receiving the car (his name was Daniel) even raised his voice at my husband, proving him wrong with pictures.
I am pursuing a claim for full refund, as well as investigation into fraud, that is going on at Niza Car Rental, courtesy of Daniel. I will never use this company again and do not recommend to anyone ever to deal with them.
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE — NO MATTER HOW CHEAP THE PRICE. YOU WILL END UP PAYING MORE. After reading the previous reviews, I can confirm they are absolutely correct.
We had a truly awful experience with Nizar Car Rental at Malaga Airport.
We made our reservation about a month in advance through Doyouspain.com and prepaid the rental. When we arrived at 11:30 AM, there was an extremely long line (around 20 people ahead of us). After waiting approximately two and a half hours, we finally reached the desk.
The agent asked for my passport, driver’s license, and credit card. I provided my US passport, US driver’s license, and my American Express Platinum card — the same card used to make and prepay the reservation.
From the moment the agent reviewed my documents, his demeanor noticeably shifted. While I cannot speculate on the reason, I was left with a very uncomfortable impression that his attitude changed after seeing my American passport. The interaction that followed made the situation feel deeply unpleasant.
The agent immediately and rudely stated: “Visa or Mastercard only.”
I calmly explained that the reservation was prepaid with Amex and that I needed to use that card for insurance purposes. He repeatedly responded in a dismissive and hostile manner: “Only Visa or Mastercard. It says in your voucher.”
Eventually, I reluctantly handed him my Visa card, at which point he said: “You lied to me.” This accusation was completely inappropriate and unprofessional.
The situation then became even more disturbing. The agent took my driver’s license, pointed at my city of residence (Beverly Hills), spoke in Spanish to his coworker, and laughed at me. When I asked why he was laughing at a customer, he mockingly replied: “Beverly Hills, like the show,” and continued laughing.
Shortly after, he stated: “I am not going to give you a car today.”
Despite having a valid prepaid reservation, he then threw my passport, driver’s license, and credit card across the counter in front of other customers. This behavior was shocking, humiliating, and completely unacceptable.
We were forced to call the police. Thankfully, the officers handled the situation professionally and assisted us in obtaining a refund. A police report was filed regarding this incident.
For management’s awareness: I have photographic documentation of the interaction as well as contact details of witnesses present at the counter. Should the company genuinely wish to investigate this matter, I can provide supporting evidence.
After this experience, I went back and read the previous reviews. Sadly, they describe very similar problems. I can now say from personal experience that those warnings are accurate.
This was not simply poor service — it was blatant disrespect and unprofessional conduct that left a very bad impression.
I strongly advise others to avoid this company.
It is no wonder Niza cars gets such bad…
It is no wonder Niza cars gets such bad reviews, we drop our car off a week ago today and we are still waiting for our deposit to be released.
Wunderfull solution in Malaga
We came to Nizacars Malaga on the 2. of februari to get our car. It seems there was no contract. It was our fault, but Lola helps us to find a wunderfull solution and a nice car for us. We were very happy with it. So muchos gracias to Lola from Nizacars Malaga!!!
not bad but not the best
Because of an unknown reason I got the rental agreement only after returning the vehicle , which is at least odd because I didn't have any documents from the rental company during the time I was using their vehicle.
Furthermore I was additionally charged the price of a full tank just because the tank was a little bit bellow full.
Other than that the staff was polite and the car was almost new and very clean.
Low initial price - Hi price as you will be accused of damages
In November 2024, I rented a car from Niza Cars together with some friends. That time everything went smoothly: friendly staff, no issues at all. Five stars. Because of that good experience, I chose to rent from them again during my most recent trip to Malaga in late January / early February 2026. Unfortunately, this time it was a complete disaster.
The problems started already when picking up the car. I was told that the insurance I had purchased online was basically useless and that I had to buy multiple expensive add-ons to be “properly insured.” The whole interaction felt like aggressive upselling rather than honest advice. I decided not to buy the extra insurance.
When returning the car, the situation became much worse. A very rude and unpleasant woman came out to inspect the vehicle, and it was immediately obvious that she was looking for problems. She claimed that I had caused several so-called damages to the car — extremely small marks that I never noticed. The car was collected in the dark, so there was no realistic chance of spotting these tiny imperfections at pickup, and even my photos cannot clearly show them because they are so insignificant.
Despite this, Niza Cars demanded almost 600 euros for these minimal, almost laughable “damages.” This is completely unreasonable and feels like a punishment for not buying their overpriced insurance.
My clear impression is that Niza Cars operates a business model where they:
• pressure customers into buying unnecessary insurance
• and if you refuse, they search for microscopic “damages” at return and charge outrageous amounts
This experience completely disqualifies Niza Cars as a rental company in my eyes. I will never rent from them again and I strongly advise others to stay away.
Shame on you, Niza Cars.
And pls do not answer this review by recommending me to turn to your so-called "customer service" - why would I choose to get even more upset?
Unable to pay for security deposit due to THEIR system blocking large charges
I had rented from this company previously without any issues. Today, I went to pick up a car and their system could not process the temporary hold of 1400€ for the deposit for the car. Even before they tried to charge my card, the lady said that they were having trouble with payments. The insisted that it was the fault of my credit card which I know for a fact it was not. I even called my credit card company in the moment and they had no record of any charge attempts, and I have ample credit limit. I even tried a different card. It was not my card, I'm 100% sure.
My theory is that they intentionally don't allow the payment to go through so you are forced to take out an insurance policy with them. I did not. I left without the car, even though I had paid for it in advance with a third party provider.
I heard them talking in Spanish thinking that I could not understand and they are up to something. They know what they are doing. I guess 8 times out of 10, the customer is forced to pay up in order to take the car.
I have rented from every car company around the Malaga airport, and this is the first time that I have seen this scam. It makes sense that they would try something like this because the car rental was extremely cheap.
I guess beware if you are planning to try to use your own insurance and leave the large hold on your card. They may intentionally not allow the payment to go through.
I will be requesting the "hoja de reclamacion" for the inconvenience. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this as it just wastes people's time.
Worst ever
Worst ever. Dirty car, Unfriendly people. Deposit was taken from account (not blocked). Since them we are fighting to get the money back.
