Delivery / Courier Service 0 star review

I missed a parcel being delivered today

I followed the instructions on the card that was left for me

It was impossible to arrange online to have the parcel resent the following day

When I called customer service I was advised I couldn’t do this until the package was confirmed as being back at the depot - and then it would take 1-2 business days to be resent

This system is so complicated - and the card clearly says “Redelivery from the next business day”

Incredibly frustrating - I would never use NZ Post again if I had any other option

Really deserves a 0 star option

I am extremely disappointed with NZ…

I am extremely disappointed with NZ Post's claims process regarding a damaged parcel. I carefully packaged the item with protective wrapping and clearly labelled it as "FRAGILE." The damage sustained appeared to be consistent with mishandling during transit.

When I submitted a claim, NZ Post requested photos of both the external and internal packaging. Unfortunately, the recipient had already disposed of most of the packaging, meaning not all requested evidence could be provided. Despite the available photos showing that the item had been wrapped and protected, the claim was declined on the basis that there was insufficient packaging.

What I found most frustrating was that the decision seemed to be based solely on the limited photos available after delivery, rather than considering that the recipient no longer had all the packaging materials or the possibility that the parcel may have been mishandled during transit. The "FRAGILE" label also appeared to have made no difference in how the parcel was treated.

I understand that senders have a responsibility to package items appropriately, but the claims process feels heavily weighted against customers, especially when complete packaging evidence is no longer available. I would encourage anyone sending valuable or fragile items with NZ Post to thoroughly document every stage of their packaging process with detailed photographs before sending, as this may be essential if you ever need to make a claim.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, and other experience of uncorrect labelling sent to wrong customers, I have little confidence in NZ Post's willingness to fairly assess damage claim or wrong doings in their side

I wish I could give ZERO stars

I wish I could give ZERO stars. Unfortunately, not an option. NZ Post is the first world’s most inefficient national postal service. I’ve lived in Canada (Canada Post), US (USPS), UK (Royal Mail) and a couple of third world countries and hands down NZ Post is THE WORST. They lost three parcels out of total of 9 for the last 4 months. This is 1/3 loss rate. And guess what? They don’t take responsibility and never refund you what they lost like respectable companies. Customer Service is abysmal, some of their drivers are really clueless and their operations are catastrophic. The whole system is rotten to the core. I’m deleting this app off my phone and sadly boycotting the national postal service. Why?

Simple: NZ Post is disgusting.

Do not trust them

Do not trust them, I had a package ripped and stolen from by thier staff at the sorting center. They found two of the 5 missing pieces so they didnt just disappear. It has now been over 5 months of them ignoring my case.
Be careful what you send!

Terrible service

Terrible service!

Up till now no problems except now they must have change couriers or I don’t know but they can’t read clearly written address on the package… I guess knowing how to read is a privilege nowadays…

Frustrating and disappointing

Just awful. Slow and unaccountable. When I enquired I was told by Kes at NZ Post Investigation that I had to go and do my own homework as they had not received it. But tracking said they had a week before!! Anyway, that’s not the point…he had zero customer service or support and blatantly washed his hands of me. Lazy and unprofessional.

For over three weeks I have been trying…

For over three weeks I have been trying to find my package that came from overseas.
I have been messed around constantly and everytime I've rung up they have said they made contact with me which is a blatant lie.
There customer service is atrocious and they have no idea what they are doing.

NZ Post lack MORALS

If I could have got to here without giving a star there wouldn't be a star in fact I give -stars.
I sent my daughter a birthday present, it was stolen by an NZ Post employee & no one cared to do their due diligence.
No one takes responsibility or gets held accountable, no one rights this WRONG?
I've been a loyal customer since I was a child & I'm dismissed with "terms & conditions", they have zero morals & don't give a sh*t when it comes to doing the RIGHT THING!

Just worthless

Just worthless. They timidly knock on the door and ignore the door bell, then run away and say we tried and you have to go half way across the city to pick your package up if you want it.

Outperformed by a student and a mechanic.

I have an EMS Priority item held since 17 April. NZ Post’s digital portal/App is an absolute carcass—it fails to load, "greys out" fields, and locks users into a technical loop that front-line staff admit they are powerless to override.
The institutional response has been a masterclass in scripted apathy. I was told staff are "in a boat" where they cannot even contact their own Brokerage team to resolve a clear system error. While I was being told to "wait for an escalation" that never came, the reality was far more incompetent.
The Reality: NZ Post misdelivered my private legal notification to a local garage instead of my clearly addressed school. After sitting there for weeks, the letter was finally "delivered" to me by a student who found it while at a job interview.
NZ Post didn't just fail to deliver my parcel; they failed to deliver the invoice for the parcel, then blamed me for the delay. This is gross administrative negligence and a blatant breach of the Privacy Act. If you want a reliable delivery network, try the local garage—they have better logistics standards than NZ Post.
0/5 stars. Case ID: 14504148. Ombudsman and Privacy Commissioner complaints pending.

Rude courier hurt my back

If I could give him a zero I would. Courier banged on the door, I answered with cheerful hello, he said “here” wanting me to sign his digital device, dropped this big heavy fragile box unexpectedly in my 77 year old arms and hurt my back. He left. No thank you, no please sign here, no goodbye. Just absolute rudeness. Why employ someone that’s going to lose you business. I paid for this courier. I’ll use another courier from now on.

I want to explain my experience with NZ Post. My parcel was lost but I was in touch with Semmy who explain me procedure and calm me down. I was unhappy but he will do whatewer it takes to make me happy customer. His high level customer service is extraordinary and I believe that his colleagues will recognize his talent.

Proof of non delivery

Was advised a package would be delivered on 16th April. Did not arrive. Nor the next day. Sent email to ask where it was . The reply said it was delivered with a photo of a package in a warehouse and a completely fictitious reference number as Sign For ‘Proof’ No offer to check delivery, reimburse or arrange replacement.
Having contacted a Manager regarding this situation, they soon agreed that the delivery had not been completed and let me arrange a replacement at no cost to myself. An apology would have been appropriate I believe, but they may be far to busy dealing with enquiries of this type to oblige.

Sebastian #1 Thank You

Spoke to Sebastian this morning after having a not so great experience with a CSR 1 minute earlier. He was so amazing, he was very helpful and went over and beyond to help me receive my parcel today as it has my baby's eczema cream in the parcel. He called the delivery driver and will be returning delivered today. Nga mihi Sebastian we need more people like you in this world 🫶🏾

If I could rate NZ Post a -5 I would

If I could rate NZ Post a -5 I would. Absolutely the worst most dishonest company in NZ

I have had 3 separate purchase for new shoes to be delivered and for all 3 separate deliveries, NZ Post has "lost" them at the same Highland Park Depot.

When you raise this issue with "customer service" they just blow you off with absolutely no care and won't admit they have any issues...
