Changed the formula. The sauce flavor has dropped in quality throughout 2025, the pepperoni pizza which was my favorite had less and less pepperoni each time I ordered it. This was a nice chain but has dropped its quality so much that the competition now seems as the better option.
Scammed again again I ordered
Once again I ordered! from a different app and guess what never turned up after 2hrs of waiting, I get a message saying delivered enjoy my food and nothing!! So I call the restaurant who then tells me he's got 3 more stops before me and will be another 20 mins!! Just remember it doesn't mater what app you use its the same clowns the other end. Avoid papa johns at all costs because it will cost you for what you don't receive

It's true what they say, you get what you pay for. Whole of order was superb, piping hot and tasted lovely. Some saying that the sizes have reduced as in large now a medium, but lets be honest which company hasn't reduced the size of their products?

Another awful experience from Papa John’s Wanstead. I placed an order on Saturday 26th at 17:51 with a delivery estimate of 18:10. What followed was a complete farce. The delivery time kept shifting — 18:15, 18:20, 18:30, 18:35, 18:45, 18:50 — and then, bam, cancelled at 18:47.
I had to create a new account after forgetting my old login, only to be met with a useless app that kept throwing a “403 error – response status unacceptable.” I finally got the order through, saw the money pending in my bank, and then received a text with the delivery driver’s details — which changed three times in an hour before the order was cancelled entirely. The in-app order tracking never worked.
Come Monday, I noticed the money had actually been taken from my account, despite never receiving any food and seeing the order marked as cancelled. Papa John’s promises refunds and Papa Dough returns for cancelled orders — neither happened.
I went to the Wanstead branch in person, and the staff couldn’t have cared less. I showed them the text messages, the driver ID, the order ticket number, and even the charge on my bank account. The response? Indifference. As if this is just business as usual.
What’s worse — the app still showed the same 403 error and no order history. The web login? Said my account didn't exist. So, explain this: No account, no order, no pizza — but you still took my money?
Papa John’s used to be reliable — I’ve been a loyal customer for over 13 years. But clearly, this company has nose-dived into chaos. With stores closing, poor customer service, and outsourced drivers they won’t take responsibility for, it's no surprise.
Domino’s may not be gourmet, but at least they deliver in under 20 minutes with their own drivers — and if there’s an issue, it’s resolved quickly.
I don’t expect a response or resolution from Papa John’s. This is just a warning to anyone else thinking about ordering from Wanstead or Papa John’s in general. Save your time, money, and sanity — go elsewhere.
Papa John’s Gave Me the Wrong Pizza and Didn’t Care
Ordered a pepperoni and got some weird veggie thing. Called right away and they told me “nothing we can do once it’s delivered.” Excuse me?? I didn’t get what I paid for. Had no dinner and no refund. Felt like they just stole from me.

They pushed a leaflet through my door with their "special offers" advertised which were any large pizza £7:99 if collected or £9:99 if delivered so I phoned up and ordered a large pizza for delivery and was told it would be £14. When I mentioned the offer I was told "yes but you have to spend a minimum of £14!!" What a joke.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from your Cheltenham Road, Bristol branch this evening. At 7:23 PM, I placed an order for two large pizzas and two sides for myself and my children. By 8:51 PM, having received no updates, I called the store only to be told that my food had been sitting ready but there were no available drivers to deliver it. No one informed me of this issue at the time of ordering, and I was only made aware after I reached out myself.
As a result, my children were left waiting for over an hour, asking where their food was, while the store held my order without any notification or solution. When I expressed my frustration and requested a refund so I could order elsewhere, I was told that the refund process would take three to five working days. As a single parent, I do not have the financial flexibility to wait that long after spending my money on a meal that was never delivered.
This is completely unacceptable. The failure to communicate the delivery issue, the lack of urgency in resolving it, and the delay in refunding my money demonstrate appalling customer service. I expect a much higher standard from a company like Papa John’s, and I urge you to take immediate action to improve your service.
I would appreciate a response regarding how you plan to address this situation and ensure it does not happen to other customers in the future.

Worst pizza. Worst customer service. They take your money, tell you pizza is delivered but it’s not. You call them and they don’t pick up. I went to the shop and they completely ignored me. Then they said it’s delivered. I go back home and it’s not there. I call them and they hang up on me. Worst night and I didn’t want to eat that evening after all they’ve put me through

Ordered pizzas and accompaniment in York and delivery was late , incorrect and food was Luke warm. Phoned up to complain to the branch and duty manager put the phone down on us. Tried to find a customer service phone number but one doesn’t exist. Everything has to be done via email. 1st and last time I’ll use this shower of rude , lying , incompetent and overpriced takeaway pizza company. I ordered two pizzas, one normal and one gluten-free for my daughter with celiac disease - of course, I paid for everything by credit card. After a few minutes I got a call informing me that they didn't have gluten free pizza and what I wanted instead. They have no idea what gluten-free is, why it is gluten-free and who eats gluten-free foods. Staff without training. I said I didn't want anything but my money back and let their driver bring it to me. In half an hour the driver calls me to say he is next to my house - but I went outside and there was no one there. Their driver can't find the address... massacre... Stay away from this company! I lost £24 - these are scammers!

Went to the torrevieja branch and tried (without success) to understand the offers it was lunch time I scanned the qr code spoke with the young girl behing counter.So in the end I went with the offer!!! On display €7.99 including a drink paid for my wife and myself with onion rings €17.98 got our drink and sat down awiting as I thought 2 orders ,the girl brought 1 pizza out with the onion rings with a container of a mustard/ mayo which I opened and dipped into and it tasted rancid .we tried the pizza which was bland doughy and horrible.we asked the girl where my wifes pizza was and sge told us we had to finish the one on the table first ,we said we would take the other one home intending to give to a homeless man down the block.we were told we could not and would have to eat it in the location .we left so in conclusion a very expensive basic cheese tomato although not much evidence of the latter costing €15.98 with a small drink

I don't a pizza eater, but sometimes when the organism demands something tasty, I ain't mind having good snacks and that is how I enoucntered Papa John's. I just researched and found them, then visited the joint and order a classical margarita. Cheese was awesome, the dough was puffy - excellent.

But as a business can't be bothered to make the effort you shouldn't be running one. Your staff are disgustingly rude, unhygienic spitting all over the food they're preparing, collecting money at the till then go straight to make a pizza without washing her hands, also Incompetent. This place needs a visit from the food standard agency. And a very urgent one. Also whosoever own the business needs to take more interest in random visits to the store.
