Worst security of any online company
Paypal has the worst security of any company we have worked with! They do not have a 2-way authentication at this day and age. If you manage to get the password of any Paypal user, you can freely buy stuff using his/her account. HORRIBLE COMPANY! Stay away from it. We've had tons of hackers buy our digital goods with stolen Paypal accounts. Do a quick Google search with 'Hacked Paypal accounts' and you will notice thousands of active paypal accounts.
As long as this lazy ass company does not add some security, I would strongly suggest to stay away from it. Even gaming companies have better account security. Even Gmail has better security! And Paypal is a payment service!!!!
Does Not Protect Digital Transactions!
I bought downloadable content through an online affiliate. He never sent me the link to download, but took my $70 right away. I tried several times to contact him with no resolution. I turned to PayPal. They told me I should try and contact the seller, but they could not help me because I had bought downloadable content.
I showed proof of my purchase. PayPal contacted the seller, and told me he would send the link. He did not. He then ignored 40 email messages from me politely requesting the link he owed me. PayPal said he had told them he had sent the link and there was nothing more they could do.
Any sense of financial or fiduciary security you have with PayPal is an illusion! They do not protect their customer, and do not do anything to regulate illegal and dishonest activity from sellers on their site.
PayPal cannot be trusted.
A necessary evil.
PayPal as a company aren't great. Their policies when it comes to the holding, or freezing of funds, fraudulent claims by customers, fees etc are on the whole despised by almost everyone who uses their system.
That said, everyone does use it, so it has to be doing something right. Granted, it has a monopoly on digital payments, but its ubiquity is what gets it my 3 stars. So many places take payment via PayPal that I can't simply write it off. From shopping on eBay, buying a pizza from Dominos, or paying my Spotify bill, PayPal has wormed its way in to everything and I guess that the fees are simply something customers will have to put up with until another player enters the game.
One thing I do hate, however, is how slow their system is. Trying to run a search for transactions can easily take five minutes or longer. For a company making millions every minute of the day, they could afford to invest in more servers.
You own digital wallet
Great for those impulsive online purchases when you don't have your card details to hand,
essential in the digital age
would be very hard living without these guys TBH, so much less hassle buying things online.
