Beware of their "terms and conditions"

Beware of their "terms and conditions". They don't accept any returns, even if the item box is unopened. I ordered a wrong part for a mobile computer workstation as the description on their site was confusing. They use the pandemic as an excuse to refuse returns. Stick with reputable online retailers who will accept returns in case there is something wrong with the purchase.

DO NOT SHOP WITH PC-CANADA

On a Thursday I ordered a monitor that had 5 in stock. I get an email the next day saying I had to pay more for shipping due to oversized item. Never have I before had to pay extra for shipping after the fact. Feels fishy to me.

Monday roles around and the Item has still not shipped. Tuesday, no shipment. It was not until the end of the day Tuesday, 5 days after I originally placed the order that someone finally figured out what was going on with my order. They claim it was on backorder and won't arrive for 2-3 weeks plus additional delivery time.

I had the opportunity to buy this monitor elsewhere (aka Amazon) for a few additional dollars, but decided to try PC-Canada to save 20 bucks. In the long run I did not save as they charged me additional for shipping and never received the item. Amazon is since sold out and I now have to wait 3 weeks regardless.

If you don't want unexpected charges and want an item that is actually in stock that should ship same or next day, DO NOT SHOP WITH PC-CANADA.

Reply from PC-Canada.com

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for sharing your experience with PC-Canada.com. I apologize that your item was delayed shipping and is now on backorder. When reviewing your order, I found that you were a first time purchaser with PC-Canada. For first time customers, such as yourself, we always run routine customer protection checks to verify that the purchase came from the credit card holder. This routine check is done for the protection of the customer and may take a few business days to complete if we cannot get a hold of the customer to verify the information. This is why your item did not ship right away.
I can appreciate your frustration with the additional shipping cost. We try our best to communicate any additional fees that may occur for oversized items on our website as well as on our cart checkout page. I will review our messaging with our internal team to ensure that customers see these statements.

Order a mini desktop computer…

Order a mini desktop computer yesterday. First, they told me that my Master Card was not recognized as credit card and when I send an eTranfer, I am told they did not receive it, even though it has been sent by my bank. I am reading all those reviews and I am beginning to worry that they are delaying my order and that my payment will suddenly appear after they increase the price on me. According to my contact Yenny, who is very nice and seem to do her best to assist me, my order is on hold and reserved for me for 2 days, so 1 day remaining...
UPDATE: It turns out I made a typo in the eTransfer email. Problem fixed and my order has shipped. I am totally happy with the service! A big thank you to Yenny!

Hi Marie,
Thank you for leaving a review for PC-Canada.com. I apologize that there was trouble processing your card. We are currently working on expanding our payment method options, however for the time being, we are only able to accept Canadian Credit Cards. Unfortunately, that does not include Visa and Mastercard Debit. I apologize for this inconvenience.
I am glad that Yenny was a good contact for you and was able to assist you through this process. I have also spoken with Yenny and she has let me know that your e-transfer has in fact been received and your order has been processed. If there is anything else we can help you with, please feel free to contact Yenny. Thank you!

I bought a laptop that was "In Stock"

I bought a laptop that was "In Stock". Confirm all the details (that it was in stock) with the billing department on the phone and was told the laptop was likely to be shipped during the day. Got an email an hour later saying the item was B/O with no other information than that I have to wait.

Try to call and have more informations, but the only offer I got was to cancel the order.

There's nothing that pissed me off more than an online company not able to have their inventory straight and selling dreams to customers.

Hi Jean-Sebastien,

I am very sorry to hear about this experience you had with PC-Canada.com.
We try our best to always stay on top of our live inventory tracker, and unfortunately our database showed stock for that item that was in fact backordered. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our manufacturer and distributor partners have been experiencing ongoing shortages of some products and although we try to communicate and stay on top of any shortages, the product you purchased was incorrectly labelled as being in-stock. I apologize that this is the experience that you had while shopping with us.
We will be reviewing this internally to see how we can prevent this from happening again.

return policy means no room for error...

The return policy although specific ...only defective items means you have to be very careful (in my case one Cisco 48V power supply vs another for various Cisco IP8 series phone. The documentation was a bit slim to avoid issues, Better to use a local retail outlet with a more lenient return policy ..even %^#&* forbid Amazon!

Customer service is inconsistent...but they helped me in the end.

UPDATE:

A customer service agent reached out to help resolve the situation and we were able to reach an amenable solution.

I'm greatly appreciative for the engagement from PC Canada but remain disappointed that it took a public lashing for them to do the right thing and treat their customers with the respect they deserve.

Original review:

Abysmal customer service and return policies. This company is interested in taking your money and NEVER helping you in any way whatsoever.

I've spent a couple thousand there and, the first time I needed help, totally got shafted and told to take a hike.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE customer service.

I bought a 13.3 inch Lenovo ThinkBook

I bought a 13.3 inch Lenovo ThinkBook. The entire process was hassle-free but thorough. Shipment was prompt and the laptop was delivered properly packaged but still with original seal.

The laptop itself is a great product (ThinkBook 13s G2) with Ryzen 4800U CPU and 16GB RAM. It is very fast and responsive and generally pretty quiet. The fan usually kicks in when there is an update that is being installed. I don't play games so no heating issues. But so far I did not notice any heating - the bottom part remained fairly cool. The screen of this model has a 16:10 aspect ratio which is better than 16:9 for online browsing and working on documents. Also, it is a QHD screen with 300 nits brightness and ~100% sRGB color gamut. So, for CAD1206, it is a pretty good deal.

I recently pre-ordered an out of stock item on their website. I received said item today, to my legitimate amazement. I honestly didn't expect to get one before April at best. I have now added this site to my favorites along with Newegg and Amazon. I came to trust pilot as I wasn't sure about PC Canada (terrible name). I can confirm (from Kamloops, BC) that this is a legit site.

Hi Amar, I am sorry to hear about your experience, but am glad that you have since sorted everything out with your bank and placed four orders with PC-Canada.com. Sometimes when people place large online orders with their credit card, their bank will flag the purchase to verify that it was in fact the cardholder’s purchase and not a fraudulent purchase. I am glad that we were able to catch that for you and notify you to contact your bank. Thank you for choosing PC-Canada.com.

The most Devious online shopping website you can ever come cross

As all other online shopping website, the consumer can’t see or touch the actual items. We only can rely on the photos the company post on their website. I ordered a headset on Jan 31th from P.C. Canada base on the photo they show on their website. They show a clear and big photo for the item and has all the description to describe the items on the side. And it is on its own webpage. The photo and description are the one I want to buy so I ordered it. I never dream to think someone would use entirely different photo or description to sell.I got the headset yesterday and it turned out it wasn’t the one I saw. I emailed their customer service. They reply me as below
“This may be a situation where the photo on our website did not match the product as per disclaimers under all photos on the site: "Photo is for illustration purposes only. Actual product may be different."” What the devious strategy? Lesson learned! Hope whoever reading it can learn from my mistake.

No better than the scalpers

No better than the scalpers, or maybe we should say they are officially licensed scalpers. At least the scalpers don’t increase the price of your agreed upon back order to squeeze every possible penny out of their victims/customers.
