Traded in a phone with them via the…

Traded in a phone with them via the Google store enhanced trade in deal. The site estimated £153. The new phone arrived from Google on a Saturday, and the trade in packaging arrived on the Tuesday. Sent it back same day, delivered to PCS on Wednesday, booked for testing on Thursday, and then an email stating the phone matched the condition and full payment of £153 on Friday.

Highly efficient, paid what Google store advertised, and overall very happy with the process. My only improvement I'd suggest would be to send the trade in packaging/label with the new device!

Phone Stolen, broken incorrect phone returned.

I ordered a phone from the google store with a trade in offer, the offer would give me £283 for my old Google Pixel 6 against a new Pixel 9a. I took out finance to buy the phone at the full price as it stated the trade in would be applied to the original payment method and hence would reduce my repayment amount.

I sent off the phone to googles trade in provider, pcs, they received the phone on the 16th of April. The day after they told me the phone was being returned as the phone was a pixel 6a (not a pixel 6) and the phone was broken and so not as described.

I contacted google support and they told me there were notes stating a pixel 6 was received. However when i received the phone back, it was indeed a pixel 6a that did have a broken screen - this was not the phone that i sent them.

My pixel 6 had been repaired by google previously and was on my google account, so they know that i owned this phone. I have never owned a pixel 6a.

I contacted them again and was asked for information regarding the phone. They then told me to wait for a response.

When i finally received a response from google they told me that they have received a response from PCS and that they received a pixel 6a from me and it was processed as described.

This is completely untrue and im at a loss of what to do. I have a broken, worse phone than the one i sent and im stuck paying the full price from my phone. I appealed with google and was given the same response, saying they would not be changing their decision.

I'm appalled by the customer service, why would I send the incorrect phone, It was obviously going to be checked over.

PCS have either mixed up the phones or they have stolen mine and sent me a broken one. Its completely unacceptable.

To top it off, i told google i wanted to return the new phone then, they originally stated they would be able to extend the return deadline but how now gone back on that as well.

Its such a shame that this has happened as now i no longer feel that i can trust the company at all.

Beware of PCS Wireless Trade-in Practices

My experience with PCS Wireless was highly unsatisfactory. Despite submitting two devices for trade-in under separate orders, the second device was processed three days before the first. Subsequently, they claimed the first device was not reset and reduced the trade-in value by 25%, even though both devices were reset using the same method and confirmed to be unlinked from my Google account. This discrepancy is perplexing, and based on this experience and other reviews, I strongly advise caution when considering PCS Wireless for trade-in services.

Positive experience

Having read the trade in reviews I was concerned I would end up disappointed. They offered me £345 for a pixel 7 which I sent off. I had an email today confirming exactly what they estimated will be paid into my account.

Google offered £400 over trade in value…

Google offered £400 over trade in value for my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Great deal so I went for it. Surprise surprise PCS wireless found damage to the body of the phone. There was no such damage but the value of the phone was reduced to exactly the same amount as the return value - to the penny. The phone was kept in a case throughout my ownership and with a screen protector in place. It looked brand new when I sent it back but I am down £240 and nobody seems to be able to explain why, or give evidence of the condition.

PCS Scam > Google take no ownership

I traded in my pixel 6 pro through google. The phone was near immaculate as was a recent refurbished purchase. The valuation came back claiming the screen had major damage which was not true. Google take no ownership of PCS. No evidence of the damage could be provided.

The terms of the trade in is that if the valuation is within 75% you have to accept it. Funnily enough my inspection put the phone at about 80% of the quoted value.

Trade-In rip-off

Trade-In rip-off
I took advantage of Google's trade-in deal to replace my Pixel 6 Pro with a new Pixel 9 Pro.
The initial offer of £333.00 was reduced to £265.00 after they had inspected the phone. They said that the offer was reduced because of screen damage. This is an utter lie, the screen was in mint condition and I had carefully cleaned any dust or marks off it. Everything else in the phone was in mint condition too. The phone was always in its case and rarely even left the house.
They went ahead with the refund of their revised amount without even waiting for me to agree to it, or to talk to anyone. Not at all happy.

Scam surely

Scam surely? Purchased a new phone via the Google store and was promised £272 to trade in on my old phone. I actually had a brand new genuine Google service pack screen installed before I sent it away (new screen cost me £150). Anyways I received a message back saying:

Damaged screen

Complete lies. I've finally received my phone back today and guess what, the screen is still new and immaculate. Lesson learnt.. Don't trust this company or buy a phone from Google with the promise of a trade in. I do feel like I've been scammed. Can I reach anyone to complain? No!

Shambles

Traded in a excellent condition pixel 3a via the Google pixel 9 promotion l. Claim rejected stating that phone had not been factory reset. Not the case at all. Phone in perfect working order no passwords or marks on it. Google have been useless in sorting issues out stating they will credit my account £40 instead of the £258 I was expecting.

After reading all the reviews I was very apprehensive about trading in my pixel 7 pro against a pixel 9 pro however I received the full enhanced valuation £404. My phone was over 2 years old but had always been in a case and had a screen protector. I did check the screen for dead pixels and screen burn. Despite not thinking it is necessary I removed all my accounts from the phone before doing a factory reset, including selecting the delete esim option. I received the refund 2 days after posting my handset using the pre-paid tracked 24 royalmail trade-in pack. Maybe I got lucky but I felt compelled to write a positive review as had it gone t*ts up I would have definitely written a negative review.

When l trade in my pixel phone they said the screen was cracked, what wasn't true. They will try to scam you. Better if you sell your phone to any other companies which are dealing with buying phones. I reported the issue to Google but l can see no steps were taken to change to a more reliable company. Do not send your phone to PC Wireless

Claimed a different phone was sent in, Google don't care

Sent a Galaxy A52, PCS claim it's actually a OnePlus phone, and worthless, because they've either lost the phone or didn't even bother to look at it.

Google lied about helping and fundamentally have internal processes that direct them to wash their hands of rejected trade-ins. GDPR request showed Google and myself were told different things from pcs wireless who handled a GDPR request incredibly unprofessionally showing they likely do not have adequate procedures in place.

I've used them twice before without any issue, so it's a shame that they make such a glaring mistake, given that a phone brand can be clearly seen on every phone. More so, I had to press Google support into helping as they kept on suggesting that I take back this mystery phone and try selling it myself, which is absolutely absurd.

Perfect

I was a bit worried about sending my old Pixel 5 to PCS due to all the negative reviews. I reset the phone to factory settings and sent it off smoothly. I had no issues at all—within 4 days, my phone had arrived, and the money was deposited into my account the next day. Don’t let these reviews scare you; give it a chance.

Trade-in program

With the trade-in program offered by Google, I decided to trade in my Google Pixel 3a. To my surprise, it was rejected by PCS Wireless, claiming it hadn't been reset to factory settings. This is simply not true! However, the worst part is not the rejection itself but what happened afterward: when the phone was returned to me, it was no longer functional and displayed the "NO COMMAND" error. They ruined a perfectly working phone!

In the second purchase

In the second purchase, I reset the device to factory settings three times: I logged out of my Samsung account, then from Google, and checked the device before sending it. Despite this, PCS Wireless claimed that the device was not factory reset and returned it to me. This is an abuse of customers, as my device was practically new.

The situation is unacceptable.

Like a number of others reported here

Like a number of others reported here, I traded a Pixel 6 in superb condition being only a few months old in as part of Google's offer for a new phone. The offer price was £115, on the higher side, but with Google's backing what could go wrong? Received an email today from the Google Store that RCS valued the phone at £0.
