Pentair LED Pool Lights

Have three Pentair LED lights installed in my pool for a new home build. After about a year, the lights began going out one by one until all three had failed. I contacted Pentair and they sent a repair guy out to replace all three. It was refreshing to have a company uphold their warranty claims when so many other companies make up loopholes or excuses for why they cannot be resolved. Pentair - you get a five star review for that. Keep it up!

I bought a new Pentair Pool Heater…

I bought a new Pentair Pool Heater (manufacturer date 05/12/2020 with an installation date of 06/11/2020. The heater is not working and i had to pay to have someone inspect the heater and to let me know that since it’s no longer under warranty I would have to buy a new heater or pay for a computer board (which may or may not work) After spending $ 3,0000 on a new heater, now I have to spend so much more. I would recommend not buying any Pentair products because they obviously can’t really stand behind their products.

Just needed to express my anger with your last firmware update - 2.017. Don't you know how to test this crap to make sure it works - let me help you out on this one - Your Quality Control Sucks! After this upgrade, my VSF main motor lost communication and would not run anymore. I was out on vacation, and come to find out my pool has been off, in this 104 degree temperature. Time for you people to get your act together.

Pentair keeps mum on warranty

Pentair supplies pool equipment to a variety of distributors around the world including to brick and mortar and online stores.

If consumers purchase pool products from any ONLINE business then your warranty is null and void. Pentair does not inform the consumer of this, in fact its their secret kept between itself and its distributors, brick and mortar store and online businesses. I happened to find this out after I purchased a Pentair Heater for my pool in 2022. I bought it through 3rd party pool supplier who had a 40 year brick and mortar store then closed shop & went online.

The Pentair Heater did not work when it was first installed, therefore a Pentair representative had to come to my home and make those repairs at a cost of $120.00.

Now if I have any more problems with Pentair equipment or my heater than I am sol. Imagine that. I spent $2,899.00 before tax and I was to get a 3 year warranty but got a three month warranty instead. Pentair's warranty is 3 yrs but my warranty reduced to 3 months all bc I bought it online. This is false advertising and I shall take this several steps forward until I am satisfied.

Other's reading this please note that I will advise the BBB, Homestars and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs about conduct of this company and its unfair practices.

Pentair honors their warranty…

We had a failure of our Pentair Tempmaster heater. Their team sent out their locally based warranty company who identified the issue. Pentair covered the parts under warranty, shipped them out, and parts were installed. Heater is working good as new. The process was solid. Took about 3.5 weeks 'start to finish'. Two tips! 1) Make sure to register your equipment so its tracked! 2) When making a claim, you need to understand that things take time. If you're expecting your heater to work at the opening of the season, 'test it' a month before so you can plan for any issues.

Purchased a Pentair pump 8 months ago on Amazon and the keypad stopped working. After being on hold twice for almost an hour, found out that parts only warranty is available, so I’ll have to pay yet another service call.

Heck with this trash

Heck with this trash. If you are building a pool or need to get equipment, look anywhere else. I can't speak for other companies, per se, but almost everyone else is cheaper. If you're not going to make a product that lasts or stand behind it, why would you pay the premium?

We had our inground pool installed in 2014. This is the beginning of our 10th season. In that time I have replaced the entire sand filter and 4 out of 4 of the led lights. The intelliflo pump had to have a new control unit put on it after one year (the control unit is the computer that runs it...expensive and important). Almost from the beginning the heater worked weird and last year had to have an igniter and mother board replaced. It still isn't working correctly. Just before I posted this review I realized that a second light is now out. That means that I now have to replace 2 of the LED lights for a 2nd time. They're $250-$300 a piece (if I install them myself). Oh.... the best part? Those lights are in a proprietary niche that cannot be replaced and will house no other lights.

Pentair is trash.

Dont buy the Pentair Pool automation…

Bought the Pentair Pool automation system new 6-6-2021. In 6-6-2022 the system went down. After contacting the pool company that installed it they said they couldn't/wouldn't help because it was a warranty issue. Pentair sent out a new transformer but that didn't fix the issue so they sent out a repairman. Trouble shot a bad board and waited 2 weeks the part they replaced made it work but it wasn't configured for my setup not enough ports so they had to order another. meanwhile, the electrical line was cut by the gas line installers and now Pentair says it is not covered under warranty, and refuses to make it work. The thing has not worked more than it has worked at this point. The worse part about it is the run around I have spent hours and hours on the phone and no one cares the dealer that installed it laughs because they don't service it. No one has offered to fix it even if I had to pay really frustrating.

My pool light was still under warranty but I got hassled by poor Pentair customer service

My pool light was still under warranty. But to get to tech support I was put on hold numerous times for at least 30 minutes.
Each time I spoke to a representative, I received different answers. It seems like their people are poorly trained. I bought the pool light online trying to save some money. The next time I will have all my pool equipment bought through my pool company-even though they are a bit pricey, they are reliable and I get no hassle from them.
Is it just my imagination, or has the customer service gone down the tubes?

We bought a pool cleaner and pool pump

We bought a pool cleaner, Prowler 930. One month after the warranty ended it broke down. When turned on it runs for 30 seconds, 1 minute, five minutes, or whatever random amount of time and then shuts off. I took a voltmeter and measured the wires and as it turns out the wire is broken, its resistance varies. To measure the wire I had to take the entire device apart to get to the electronics. And appalling how cheap this machine is built. It's all plastic which to some extend is a good choice, but not everywhere. That a cable breaks which at no point was sharply bent speaks to the low quality of the components. That the warranty ends shortly before the device breaks speaks to the corporate decisions. That the cable replacement comes in at around 400 dollar for something that consists of 20 USD wiring and a plastic hose around borders on extortion. Same for the pool pump. The bearings broke and they don't offer to repair it but expect you to buy a new pool pump. This entire company is set up to ripp off by selling overpriced products of cheap engineering.

I have redone my pool For over 3 years…

I have redone my pool For over 3 years now (today is June 03, 2022), I ask the pool company to use the best system for my pool, and I approved Pentair full system, (pump, salt system, filters, heater, and also automatic lights system), this brand is the most expensive “supposed because the quality” today the pool company who install and do the monthly service informs me the salt system needed replacing, I ask why and they can’t give me an answer, I call Pentair CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ONE HOUR 35 MINUTES the only can say is they no sale to homeowners and if I'll replace the system they state will cost me between $1,355 to $1,950, they no even care about what happened to the system.

The BEST OF THE BEST

I’ve dealt with dozen of pool companies over the last 50 years and have always been underwhelmed. Pentair sent LAS VEGAS POOL PATROL LLC to diagnose my problem. Gerardo, sent Ernesto. I was in awe! It was like watching precision brain surgery. The irony is Ernesto said Gerardo, his boss, knows much more!
Don’t even think about another pool service! I won’t.

Pentair Equipment Holding up well for 14 years

I'm in my 14th year since my swimming pool was built with Pentair superflo pump, multiport valve and NSF 60 filter. The equipment is exposed to wide seasonal extremes in my area. I've replaced the filter grid, though lesson learned on keeping it clean and replaced the pump start capacitor of the pump that only cost $20.00. In all Pentair equipment is very durable and rugged. The equipment has exceeded my expectations. Five stars, if I did not need to replace any parts to date, but I'd give 4.5 stars, if the option were here.

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware. I purchased a pool rover from Walmart.com. after several attempts to return it for its poor quality, i was informed that is is not under warrantee. Pentair said that any product purchased online and not from a brick/mortar store is null and void. They told me i should have paid more offline. I paid over $1K for this unit and it is simply garbage. DO NOT BUY any of this company’s products. They can not be trusted. their hold times for a customer service rep is excessively long and when a manager calls back they’ll song and dance you to death. In the end you’ll be in the short end and out of $$.
