Phil came this morning. On time and ready to go. Explained all elements of the treatment he was going to do and what chemicals he would be using. Put floor protectors down and was very conscientious. Place was spotless when he left. Gave good clear instructions about “aftercare” and left paperwork explaining the same.
Very pleased. Would definitely recommend

Peter Cox arranged the installation of a roof ventilation fan for my mother. She said the installer was very polite and carried out the installation quickly and cleanly.
The fan cannot be heard. Within a few days of it being fitted mums house already seems to have a fresher atmosphere.

You cannot fault Peter Cox, this is the second time I have used them for my damp proofing work, and the whole experience was amazing! The communication and planning was perfect from both Jaden and Donita. The contractors AJ and Jason, were incredible, turned up on time, really friendly and talked me through the process, I was more than happy to leave them in my house while I went to work, and the whole job was completed perfectly in 2 days. I will be contacting Peter Cox to come back for some more work in due course, and would urge anyone else to use them.

Did not turn up to do the job this morning. No call, so called them. They called the technician, he's in bed I'll and didn't bother to ring them.
I've taken a day off work as I work from home. I don't get paid if I don't work and that's a £500 loss. Whole room is moved around and covered. Now I have to take another day in 2 weeks time. But they can't recompense my loss because they said they didn't know!
Absolute disgrace.

Job survey on time very helpful.
Quotation next day email.
The young man that installed the new DPC was very professional.
Only had one issue accounts were too abrupt at the time of the call looking for payment. I was on a track machine & did not have the time to talk. She could do with slowing down a little & understand its not all about her ticking the box on that phone call in fact if it was not for my secretary I would have cancelled. Some one else phoned & they sorted it out between them the job was done next day. 10 out of 10 to the young man.

I have used Peter Cox with two houses I have owned. Both times I have received amazing service. Pays to go with a well established company. Steve and John carried out some wall tie work in my house this week, both turned up on time and completed the work professionally and even tidied up before they left. Thank you.

I paid £350 for a damp survey in Manchester. The surveyor was friendly and seemed knowledgeable but spent quite a bit of the time during his visit asking me for legal advice on his daughter’s personal situation (we chatted about career changes and I used to be a solicitor). He didn’t remove any skirting boards to check, but informed me that the rising damp was due to existing plaster bridging the existing dpc, even though I explained that my late brother had already had advice to this effect and done work to stop bridging, hence the new skirting boards, some of which were already showing back areas. When I received the report, I emailed him a number of questions to understand the technical wording of the report, which he did answer during a phone call. The report said that, if when they started the work, there was no evidence of a damp course, they would stop work and quote for a diffusion dpc. I don’t understand why this could not have been ascertained during the survey. They also required me to test the floor tiles for asbestos and remove them if necessary, which I did. Long story short, I had a second survey done which was cheaper and more thorough (the surveyor took off several skirting boards and checked the wall and floor) and found the dpc level was too low and the issue was not bridging. I then phoned the Peter Cox surveyor with the intention of asking if he wanted to quote for this work, as the original quote was no longer relevant. At the start of the conversation, I tried to check a technical point to make sure I was comparing the two solutions correctly. He became rude and angry and said that he had already answered my questions. Very little effort on the surveyor, standard report not tailored to the specific situation, terrible attitude.

Used Peter Cox for a cracked lintel repair (they inserted stainless steel helical reinforcement bars & specialist repair cement). All very friendly and professional from the initial office engagement to the field based staff. Paul the tradesman deserves a special mention as he completed the work on time and to a professional level working safely and cleaning up afterwards. Peter Cox may not be cheapest company, but dealing with a reputable company (with Paul personally having over 35yrs experience in the building repair and maintenance business), gives you piece of mind that any repairs are done correctly and guaranteed to a high standard. I would certainly use them again.

I was visited today to have planned maintenance completed by Vance and Rob. They communicated throughout the process they were following and were really mindful of being respectful towards myself and my property.
Pair a gents who did not leave the property without assuring me the work had been completed to a high standard and did not leave without ensuring I was happy.

Tristan and paul were brilliant, arrived on time & finished the job as expected, very friendly & didn't stop working all day. Treated the damp & fitted the loft insulation, also gave some advice going forward. An excellent job completed. Thank you

Absolutely OUTSTANDING work by the team at my elderly Mum's home. Colin, in particular (5/5 doesn't do him justice) went above and beyond to keep me informed on timelines and basically act as a link between the different tradesmen. Communication from the office-based contracts team left a lot to be desired (1/5) despite me asking to be kept informed as I wasn't living at the property.

Very happy with the service from this company. From first communication to the work being carried out. Professional, friendly and supportive

Booked Peter Cox for a damp proof survey. Paid upfront, received the survey and it didn’t attempt to address the cause of the damp they identified (failed external cladding). Instead they recommended damp proof membrane internally and re plastering which simply traps the moisture in the brick and hides the problem. The pricing for that was ridiculously high. English Heritage have stated for decades that DPM is extremely bad. They also wanted £3k to spray the exterior stone with epoxy resin that costs less than £100 in materials.
Further to that a second survey from a legitimate surveyor, confirmed by the water board engineers, found the issue was the mains water pipe leaking in the basement.
If you’re thinking of hiring Peter Cox for a survey and remedial work, I can save you £20k. They will recommend DPM and the most expensive re-plastering work in the world. Skip them and hire a surveyor who doesn’t try and sell you the contractors to fix. Or just hire a builder directly.
Edit - To respond to Peter Cox’s reply. If I wanted to discuss your survey and quote with you again, I would have contacted you directly. My review is for the public, not for you to try and pressure me to remove it. A google of Peter+cox+fraud tells everyone all they need to know about your business model.

Bill Bainbridge attended as arranged, carried out a careful inspection and gave clear advice on the treatment options. The written report arrived promptly, and agreed treatment carried out efficiently. Bill kept me fully informed and offered to be available for any questions.

We were taking our home to market in Northumberland when we noticed a potential woodworm presence in a stairway and floorboards. We contacted Rentokil/Peter Cox, explaining some urgency. Bill Bainbridge the surveyor attended the property within 2 days of the call, carried out a careful inspection and gave us clear advice on the treatment options, producing a written report and quote the same day, and arranged treatment as agreed within the following week, all carried out as agreed. Before, during and after the treatment, Bill kept us fully informed and was always quick to respond to questions with practical guidance and advice. The job and access were not straightforward and Bill's advice was greatly appreciated. Full marks should also go to the office team, who were always very helpful and effective whenever contacted. We won't hesitate to use Rentokil/Peter Cox on any other occasion. Many thanks.

Punctual, polite and hard working, from the 1st contact the team communicated well, arrived on site at the time stated and worked continually, no time wasted. On completion each day they explained what had been done, what was left to do and cleaned up fully before departing.
