I receive my tax summary from Proplend showing gross interest. This is incorrect in my opinion. Every other P2P lender provides a statement showing net interest. In effect by using the Proplend figure... See more

I’ve been investing in P2P loans for about a year now and am building my portfolio of loans and platforms. Proplend was easy to sign up to and investing was straightforward. All the platforms do things a little bit differently and I like the fact that their fees in particular are so clear. They take their 10% fee when I’ve received the full amount the borrower has paid. I’m not getting a different rate to what the borrower is paying.

Their Tranche A is one of the safest P2P investments I have found.

I have only been with Proplend for about 4 months, which is not long enough to provide a thorough review. However, I have not lost any money so far and have received my interest payments. Their website is fine. The minimum £1000 investment limit is not too high.
However, I hope they provide more loans in the future as not many are coming through at the moment. I opened this account to diversify my risk between other P2P companies, but most of my money is with Saving Stream and Funding Secure as they have about 10 new loans per week. Proplend also are not paying as high a return to their investors as these other two websites. The last loan, for example, is paying 6.5% on a first charge at 70.91% LTV. That's far too low for such a high LTV.

Great rates, interest paid monthly. Only downside is £1000 chunks must be purchased. More diversification could be good. It's a small P2P company but proved well so far.

Investing with Proplend was straightforward and quick. I've not been invested for long enough for loans to be completed. Only slight concern is that there don't seem to be many opportunities to invest in new loans.

The best things about Proplend : 1. the amount of information on the loans and the underlying security they provide which allows each investor to fully appreciate the risk they want to take. 2. The loan exchange platform which allows you to buy and sell loans at par. 3. When they get a tax efficient way of investing up and running.
The worst thing : not frequent enough new loan origination.
The best of the property related P2Ps in my opinion.

I have been investing using three other p2p companies since 2013 I have had mixed experiences in terms of percentage returns, communications, write offs and documentation.
In my opinion Proplend have been outstanding in terms of personal communication, well researched documentation, and a fair return given the risk involved. As with all investing situations everyone has their own view on risk reward, In my experience to date Proplend are streets ahead of the other p2p companies that I use.
One recent default but in my opinion the best p2p company in the UK, I think that they will continue to grow and improve.

I have been lending to PropLend for over 6 months and can only praise their systems and clear communication. They are happy to take phone calls (unlike some other P2P companies!!) and help wherever they can.
Always remember to deduct 10% from the headline rate shown for the interest you will receive. Always read the loan information and decide if you are happy with the risk.
