I ordered bullets for a 475 Linebaugh

I ordered bullets for a 475 Linebaugh. Anyone who has loaded this round knows that a cannelure, or crimp groove, is required for revolver rounds. Reeds knows it, too. That's why they only show smashed up, mushroomed bullets on their site. I bought them from Gun Broker where they only show loaded rounds. Reeds won't show just the plain bullet because you'd see that they have no cannelure. I received the bullets and immediately asked (via email) about it. Reeds replied by saying "If you use the Hornady or Lee crimp die you'll be all set. We do not cannelure our bullets as there is no need with a crimp die." For the record, and for anyone who has just started reloading, if there is no crimp groove (cannelure), do NOT try to roll crimp a bullet. You end up mashing a crimp into the bullet and disforming it, which will cause unusual pressure spikes, inconsistent neck tension, and inaccurate rounds. Sure...it CAN be done. But read any of the reputable reloading manuals, or watch some videos, and you'll see it is highly advised to NOT do it. You can taper crimp bullets. But a taper crimp is insufficient to retain bullets in the shell in a revolver with recoil like the 475 Linebaugh. Once I read their reply, I knew I was dealing with ignorance, so I just let it go. I sent the Reeds bullets to Hawk Bullets and paid to have a cannelure pressed into the bullets (Hawk is a great company, by the way). When I first shot the Reeds bullets, even with the cannelure, I had two rounds in the first cylinder jump the crimp and bind up my pistol. I finally removed the rounds, pulled the bullets, and measured them. One was .471, and the other was .4725. My pistol requires .475 from a jacketed bullet, and .476 for a cast bullet. So, I measured all 100 bullets from Reeds and found 11 that were unusable, being way too small to even try to load. Several were on the edge of useable, but I'll just increase the crimp and hope for the best. At more than a dollar a round, I'm not happy. But I marked it up to tuition cost... learning who the good companies are and who not to deal with. Once I've shot all the shootable bullets, I won't order from Reeds again. And don't let their "Disabled Veteran Owned and Veteran Operated" claim affect you. I'm an Army veteran of 32 years with multiple wartime combat deployments. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with quality service.

Ammo prices amongst the lowest iv found…

Ammo prices amongst the lowest iv found and "I LOOK EVERYWHERE" initially I was concerned when you find great deals it because the company is a scam however I did my due diligence made some phone calls cross checked everything and found that this company was legitimate I made a purchase found that they shipped incredibly quick and received my products. I do understand that some people have their favorite companies that they like to do business with and pay more money than what they should but that's on them as for me I give Reid's family Firearms two thumbs up.

The gun sales guys are horrible

The gun sales guys are horrible. If you have any questions they can't or won't answer them. Basically, the customer is bothering them. What they advertise on their site as in stock is pretty much a random item generator or the sales staff is to incompetent to look up what they have in stock. Not a good store, terrible customer service.

5 Star service from beginning to end.

I looked high and low for a 2A item; Reed's had it, spanking brand new. I processed the sale over the phone and arranged for a transfer to a dealer near me.

Item was sent 2-day mail, and arrived on time. Item was in brand new condition, looking great. Item was functional.

This was my second time doing business with Reed's. I am a certified Google reviewer, and an actual buyer. I don't know what the other reviews are talking about. My experience was great. No issues. No BS.

I will certainly recommend them to all my buddies, and will do business with them again.

Thanks Wyatt!

First time ordering, less than impressed

This is my first time ordering from Reeds and so far it’s been less than expected. I placed an online order Saturday night, I really needed the 2 items I ordered by Wednesday so I sent an email stating such and that I would gladly pay the extra for overnight shipping but there was no option at checkout for this, just Fed Ex ground. On Sunday morning I received an email from a helpful person named BP, they stated that they would put ship fast on the order but that I should call Monday to get an overnight quote. Perfect, I called Monday, the lady who answered said she’d check on a quote and call me back but told me Fed Ex overnight is not guaranteed. I figured I’ll pay the quote and if it gets shipped today Monday it should be here by Wednesday. Monday came and went with no call back, Late Tuesday at 3:14 PM I received an email with a quote, no phone call ? I read this email at 7:45 PM, tomorrow is Wednesday ? Why on earth would you wait until late Tuesday to email me a quote when I ordered it SATURDAY and promptly called Monday !! I’ve worked for the Post Office for 30 years, overnight is guaranteed or your money back, I understand you use Fed Ex but then why wait so long to try to help your customers???

Companies with absolutely no customer…

Companies with absolutely no customer service such as Reedssports.com, Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters. have no business being in business. When you order something that is in stock, for a trip a month out, and you are charged for it, yet three weeks later you make contact because you haven't received your supplies yet. They tell you there is an inconsistentcy in your mailing address so they are holding the order. Even though it is being shipped to a shipping address, and they already charged your card. Yet they never opted to pick the phone up to clarify what they needed. Never the less when you contact them they tell you it will be shipped out that day. Luckley I ordered some supplies from a few reputable companies like Midway, and Federal that both filed the orders as promised. If I would have relied on Reedssports.com. Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters. I would have a very expensive trip and no supplies to get through it. It wasn't until the day I was leaving that I again contact them, and then was told that they no longer have the item in stock, and was going to refund the money. Avoid purchasing anything from Reedssports.com, Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters. unless you really don't care if you get the product.

I love shopping at Reeds for all my…

I love shopping at Reeds for all my outdoor needs. The atmosphere in the building is super cool. The staff is also very knowledgable and helpful. They always have good stock on products and they have brands that not all retailers have, which makes it nice for having options. They also always have a large section of firearms and their ammo is in stock is a lot better than most retailers. The Walker location is also located right next to Leech lake, so it's an easy pitstop before I head to the lake. They also have a great website that is easy to use. I've had nothing but great experiences shopping online or in store at Reeds.

they are like thieves!

Don't place order from this company, they are like thieves, seriously! I ordered a binocular from their website on Oct 1st and the order never came. When I contacted them on Nov 3rd, I was told the order was cancelled due to the fraud concern and they claimed an email was sent to me. I checked the emails, spams, junk mails... there was no record of any cancellation notice, just an order confirmation email and a following billing invoice. I asked them if you cancelled the order, shouldn't you refund me back then? The guy on the phone had no answer but said I can refund you NOW. Isn't that convenient? Cancel the order but keep the money, and only refund when you catch them!

Bad customer service

Some of the worst, most confused and clueless customer service I've experienced. Ordered pair of size 10 shoes. About a week later I receive a pair of size 9 shoes in a size 10 box. Ok, so far an excusable mistake. When I call to fix the problem, I'm given a return label and am assured the right size is in stock and the correct shipment will not be held up waiting for the return. I send back the incorrect shoes the same day. Another week goes by and I get a voicemail from a Justin saying they don't have the correct size and therefore can't send it to me. I call the number and they don't know who Justin is. I say I just got a call from the guy. They put me on a long hold (listening to wolves howling) and finally tell me there is a Justin but he's not there today. I repeat that he left me a voicemail minutes ago. They put me on a long hold again. And disconnect me. I call back and demand to speak to a supervisor, who turns out to be Chad, "the gun guy." Justin is apparently "the shoe guy," but no one knew he was at work but somewhere in the wilds of the warehouse. I did get a refund but this company is a mess!

The worst cutomer-service experience I have ever had.

It took me multiple calls, faxes, and e-mails to buy a Browning Citori at the advertised price. The price was a good one, but I will ignore any good deals I see advertised in the future.

At Reeds, you pay in other ways. I walked away from a Browning promotion for a free $150 in ammo because of my frustration with Reed's staff. I do not think they are malicious, but it is not a professional gun shop, and it is a very poorly-performing online retailer.
